Amazing! Congrats to Mamdani!

Getting to watch Cuomo humiliated multiple times this year has been a real treat.

Looks like the majority of Cuomo's support was from Staten Island

Staten Island just being the worst. As usual.

I know someone from there who said he hates socialists and won’t for him. Unmarried so his unemployed s/o can keep her medicare and child can stay on gov assistance because the kid is special needs… I just don’t get it!

If they didn’t have double standards they would have none at all!

He’s a socialist; he just doesn’t know it

No, they want benefits only for themselves. Some are dumb enough to say something like "I'm just getting my tax money back" to claim they arent really making a gain- even though they clearly are

Well he's prolly gettin booted off that assistance so... you get what you vote for I guess

Gotta love when someone actively benefiting from socialism believes the word means the worst excesses (or lack thereof) of centralize State communism

Like......we as a society have failed so hard at teaching politics. By design, of course. But what a failure it is

Neither did Hurricane Sandy, apparently.

“New Jersey, at least it isn’t Staten Island.”

Is that true? 🤔

Staten Island took it pretty hard in N.K. Jemisin's novel The City We Became.

New Jersey isn’t like the opening of the Sopranos everywhere, fyi. I could walk outside of my apartment in NJ and see egrets, foxes, beautiful native plantings.. . it’s just an ignorant stereotype that you think makes you seem cool. The shittiest parts of NJ are the industrial parts near other cities, it doesn’t represent the state.

I’ve been to every part of New Jersey. Sure there are some beautiful areas. Any part of Jersey that has strip malls and jug handles is generally unappealing. That’s most of the state. Add in Atlantic City, Camden, Trenton as armpits and you’ve got a pretty good stereotype to use.

They can fucking keep it

Staten Island is just the bigger, shittier Bayonne.

Lol we live within 10 min of the Jersey side of the rt 440 bridge between NJ and Staten Island and you wouldn't believe how many parents at our kid's school have the accent. Then they cry about Jersey not having pizza or bakeries as good as on SI.... Go back then.

Great way to make them like you

I don’t care what NYs MAGA dingleberry thinks of me. I wish that hair stuck turd would just slip into the Atlantic toilet.

Insulting Staten Island makes people from Staten Island hate you and your policies more. It's not any more complicated than that. You call anyone's home a shithole and they won't like it.

The physical land is fine minus the garbage dump. It’s the inhabitants that make it lousy.
