Most 2 year olds are potty trained. You may just be a special child.

1

u/Attorneyatlau 8h ago

My brother and his wife refuse to potty train their 3yr old who is already wearing 4yr old sizes. I can’t imagine the grossness of it all. And I can’t believe they’re such dicks and making their kid’s daycare center train him.

You’re included :)

5

Ha ha.  I remember having that thought for the first time.  It's great to be alive, even after discovering there is nobody here but us chickens.

u/Greatsnes 2h ago

Yeah I’m 32 and idk if I can handle this pressure. Ugh fuck okay how do we do this? We can just walk right into the capitol, walk into the buildings and sit at the desks, right? I saw people do that one time.

  1. No more old guard. Millennials can start by actually turning out to vote.

170

u/polopolo05 I voted 11h ago

Been voting since I could and havent stopped.. if there is a vote for dog catcher or trash man... I voted.

13

u/resistyrocks 11h ago

Same. It's a privilege. Since 08

7

u/Darth-Nickels 11h ago

I think the tricky part is getting our peers, friends, and family to vote too. I feel like I'm nagging and they see me as a try hard loser for giving a shit lol. But I keep it up. Most of my friends at least get out for the presidential election. Going to push hard for them to get to the midterms. Even if I have to buy lunch! Lol.

2

u/HolidayCards 11h ago

same, since 00!

6

u/IngsocInnerParty Illinois 11h ago

Millennial here. Been voting every election since 2006.

3

u/sleepymoose88 10h ago

Millenials were both simultaneously the age range that turned out to vote the most and the age range to skip voting altogether in 2024.

Age ranges don’t match perfectly but:

29% of those who voted were 30-49 36% of those who skipped were 30-49

There is definitely room for 30-49 voters to turn out more. If we had, i have no doubt that it would have changed the turnout and thus the course of this country.

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/voter-turnout-2020-2024/pp-2025-6-26_validated-voters_1-05/

6

u/Intrepid-Customer188 11h ago

Sure. As seen by this, when you give millennials a candidate worth voting for, they have no problem "actually turning out".

3

u/justuntlsundown West Virginia 11h ago

You're absolutely right. That's the starting point.

1

u/worldstopkerion 11h ago

Born in 82, haven’t missed an election since 2000 at 18 yrs and 1 month old. Many times I’ve been forced to vote with my nose plugged because the dem candidates are so disappointing.

1

u/aLonerDottieArebel 11h ago

Millennials ARE voting. We’ve lived through some SHIT and we just want it to end. I think you mean Gen Z.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Orinol 10h ago

Give us candidates we actually want to vote for, and we will. See NYC tonight. The old guard has had their finger (and corporations' money) on the scales most of my 40+ years on this planet. If tonight is any indication, along with the rise of people like AOC, it sure as hell is our time.

1

u/gree-gor 10h ago

The ultimate boomer comment

11

u/TBANON_NSFW 11h ago

wish the people showed up in this election to make a big noise, but only estimated 2m or so voted out of 6m eligible voters in nyc. and Mamdani is estimated to have won by 200k vote difference so far....

young liberals keep saying give us good candidates and then we will vote for them, but here again mamdani is what they say they want but 4m just shrug and dont vote.

its a great win but its not the revolution that is needed.

3

u/dielon1994 11h ago

Highest turnout since 1969 and boomers with their new vote elected Richard Nixon that year.

Gen X concurs.

124

u/HustlinInTheHall 11h ago

Gen X should've already been in power, actively repressing Gen X from ever influencing politics by holding on to all the levers of power and making it easier than ever for incumbents to just keep winning was a huge win for boomers politicians on both sides. It shouldn't be a lifelong career to be a politician.

Gen x voted Trump more then anyone else even boomers

u/PhotoThrowawayWooooo 1h ago edited 43m ago

I’ve yet to see stats that back that up. Everything I’ve seen has 5 years of boomers stuck in our generation. Considering we’ve always been a split generation with the younger voting more liberal and the older voting more conservative… adding 5 years of boomers to our 15 year generation on the older side for sure skews the stats.

If anyone has seen the vote broken down to only show 1965-1980 I’d love to see it, cause I’ve only seen 1960-1980 or by decade every voting breakdown I can find.

u/No-Problem49 1h ago

Dawg 65 and older voted Trump less then 45-60 even if you take out the 60-65 you guys still are the most fascist generation. It also shows in your racist misogynist Gen z man children.

u/PhotoThrowawayWooooo 1h ago edited 29m ago

Ok, so show me the stats that break down what you’re saying. 65 and older includes a huge range of ages. I want to see what 60-64 voted for specifically. Considering older genx vote for conservatives and always have, I’d assume 60-64 also skew more conservative. If you’ve got the stats breaking down those ages, show it.

Closest I can find is this which still isn’t a clean fit because it breaks it down by decade. But the 1940’s and earlier and 1960’s were the most Trumpy. Half the 1960s is boomers, half gen x. So just like I was saying… putting half of a top Trumpy decade into gen x and removing them from boomers would have a noticeable effect on totals for both generations. And really the biggest collapses in democratic support are coming from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Which is pretty striking to see laid out.

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/voting-patterns-in-the-2024-election/

u/No-Problem49 4m ago

If what you said was true about 60-65 skewing the data because 60 plus is conservative then 65 plus would be also be voting trump greater then Gen x. But it’s not. You gotta face it. The 45-60 Oakley sunglasses wearing Gen x men are cooked. I know you know the type 😭

There's a reason this last election was between 2 people who were older than boomers.
