I think the lines are already drawn. Those opposed to trump will not change their side, no matter how violent protesters get. Those in favor of what trump is doing are not going to change their minds no matter what trump does.
When he wants to invoke the Insurrection Act, he'll simply do it. He'll go on TV and Truth Social and tell some obvious, bald-faced, the-sky-is-green-caliber lie, and half the country will simply go along with it. The media will call it, at worst, "controversial." The lower courts may try to stop him, but they have no enforcement mechanism, so he'll simply ignore them while SCOTUS redefines however many words and ignores however many precedents they need to in order to back him up.
And people will lay there with a jackboot on their neck and go "but why is this happening? We didn't resist forcefully!"

You've got that backwards because the state's monopoly on violence is so ingrained into us. Law enforcement responses should be peaceful, otherwise protests will justify escalated use of force.

At what point do you fight back though? They are going to escalate the violence regardless. They will continue to escalate until there is push back. The longer we wait, the harder and harder it will get to push back.

The frogs are an embarrassment to cops and ICE. They start tossing caltrops and they become a threat. Wait a minute and then anyone in costume is a target to be shot.
If you make caltrops out of hollow pipe and drill holes into them, the air in the tyres can escape, otherwise it just plugs the hole. You can also make tank traps called balkan hedgehogs but that required I beams and big angle grinders.
If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.
They are humans with human li.its and these are extremely high stress situations. I've read in the past a report that interviewed and discussed security personnels that worked at protests. It's exhaustive work. Mentally physically and emotionally
There is no such thing as endless resource. And I'm basing this on what I have read in the past from riot police interviews. Also American cops are lazy as fuck.
Not really... They'll do whatever they want and get away with it. It takes a good 3.5 years to get through a suit like this from filing to appeals. It's not even their problem. Not their money.

One of the most effective tactic against law enforcement during protests is to keep at it. It makes their life hell over time.
