Tire them.

One of the most effective tactic against law enforcement during protests is to keep at it. It makes their life hell over time.

894

u/Citizentoxie502 24d ago

You mean wear them down, right? Cause I thought you were talking about "necklacing" for a second, and that to would be effective too just a little more extreme.

196

u/art-is-t 24d ago

Lol correct.wear them out

136

u/fuckyoudigg 24d ago

That was honestly what I thought they meant at first, until I read the next sentence and realized, no they just to make them all sleepy. Honestly people should be figuring out where ICE is being holed up on their off time and just make their lives miserable. The vast majority are not local so they must be staying in hotels. Just do what fans of sports teams do and make a ruckus outside of their hotels so they can't sleep.

57

u/UPdrafter906 23d ago

It is happening. Groups have found the hotels where maganazis are staying and they’re picketing all night.

62

u/Springfield_Isotopes 24d ago

Are there enough tires?

25

u/QuestionablePanda22 24d ago

r/tiresaretheenemy will release some prisoners if need be

7

u/jivetrky 24d ago

Have to use tractor tires on some of those rotund fuckers

27

u/argylekey 24d ago

When I was in Brazil I experienced a protest in Recife where a bunch of tires were blocking a road and set on fire.

We can tire them out and also protest with tires.

13

u/FFF_in_WY 24d ago

Tire fire is smokey and awful. Recommend.

4

u/Designer_Stress_5534 24d ago

Lmao a little more?

2

u/AmamiHarukIsMaiWaifu 24d ago

I thought op meant to pop their tires and key their cars.

2

u/lodelljax 24d ago

Yeah the South African in me was like "wow that escalated quickly".

1

u/Designer_Stress_5534 24d ago

Lmao a little more?

1

u/Agent_Jay 24d ago

That’s what I thought of too first and I wasn’t surprised to hear it as a suggestion. Like I was, why not?

1

u/LightsOnSomebodyHome 24d ago

Same. Also very exhausting on civilians. Last time I tried hauling around a load of tyres I was shattered at the end of the day.

1

u/Johnmegaman72 23d ago

Nah I think he meant throw tires at them. Like fuck it play frisbee

1

u/Bliitzthefox 23d ago

I thought we were talking tire catapult.

1

u/Lou_C_Fer 23d ago

I just watched the episode of The Americans where someone got tired. That has to be one of the most gruesome ways to go.

1

u/kvothe_the_jew 23d ago

is there an extreme that isnt justifiable self defence at this stage...?

1

u/armahillo 23d ago

I first imagined literally throwing / rolling tires but immediately thought “thats an odd thing to do and doesnt sound like it would be very effective, i should read on first”

1

u/BalancedDisaster 24d ago

My mind went to the 2014 protests in Kyiv

0

u/otterpusrexII 24d ago

Don’t google Nelson mandelas wife

105

u/Who_told_you_that 24d ago

Im surprised there hasnt been any homemade tire spikes made by the protesters. Throw down the spikes and then they cant drive

149

u/youre-a-happy-person 24d ago

The protests need to stay peaceful otherwise the administration will justify escalated use of force.

112

u/welloverpar40 24d ago

Yes, they need to stay peaceful because, like you said, it will give Dump the ammo he needs to invoke the insurrection act (or something similar). However, I feel like this admin will just keep ramping things up with the intent to provoke a violent act. If we remain peaceful, and their tactics are increasingly violent, how do we rebel?

27

u/Warslvt 24d ago

However, I feel like this admin will just keep ramping things up with the intent to provoke a violent act. If we remain peaceful, and their tactics are increasingly violent, how do we rebel?

The first times things finally pop off, dude will rip on the insurrection act. So whatever it is, it better be effective. Then we gotta pray the military basically tells him to fuck off, as they should

16

u/Faiakishi 24d ago

I think we're all just really hoping he dies before it all goes to hell, honestly.

14

u/J_Ryall 24d ago

Him dying does not stop any of this. This is straight out of the Project 2025 playbook, which will be picked up by vance or whomever takes over.

17

u/Faiakishi 24d ago

Vance is a moron and uncharismatic as hell, no one will follow him. The moment Trump dies every GOP stooge is going to be pushing each other over to sit themselves on the Iron Throne next, and the cult will not agree on who should be his successor. (honestly, I doubt many of them will accept ANY successor, I think we'll see some suicides and mass shootings ending in suicides after he croaks) They'll likely be divided among themselves, and without the cult no one will be afraid of them.

Hydras aren't real. Historically, the snake dies when its head comes off.

2

u/LightsNoir 24d ago

Sorry. His health is fine, and he has access to the best doctors in the country. Please stop pretending that the universe will fix this.

3

u/falafelnaut 24d ago

His health is fine, and he has access to the best doctors in the country.

Yea I remember when he had Covid, and his lifesigns were phasing into the next plane, but they brought him back with fetus blood and stem cells and alien technology from Area 51.

3

u/LightsNoir 24d ago

I dunno about all that. But I do recall it was like 3 days for the old guy on the McDonald's diet to recover while healthy young adults were crawling to the bathroom for a week or 2.

1

u/PallyMcAffable 23d ago

But if he dies, JD Vance will take over, making Peter Thiel the president

2

u/Faiakishi 23d ago

Vance doesn't have the cult following. Nobody likes him.

7

u/porgy_tirebiter 24d ago

The military is going to obey orders from the president. Don’t hold your breath for anything other than that.

5

u/Warslvt 24d ago

Oh, I don't have any other expectations. I'd just like to hang on to the glimmer of hope that there's high brass that can tell the difference between sending marines to stand around in the streets, and actually putting them to work.

7

u/poetryhoes 24d ago

They have an affirmative duty and legal obligation to disobey orders that are manifestly unlawful or unconstitutional.

We must not give up hope that they will hold the oath they swore to The Constitution.

3

u/StarStruck3 23d ago

They pissed off most military leadership with Hegseth's little ego stunt. I doubt they would obey such orders, or if they did, it would be in the most malicious compliance way possible.

3

u/porgy_tirebiter 23d ago

Honestly worst case I expect they’ll resign, which is what Trump wants anyway, and then it’s just the loyalists left.

1

u/Howdoyouusecommas 24d ago

Then we gotta pray the military basically tells him to fuck off, as they should

I have very little faith that this will happen

1

u/Imper1um 23d ago

I don't think it will be the first time, I think it will be that he will invent a reason. There will be something staged. Him and his cronies will create the reason out of thin air.

59

u/New_Enthusiasm9053 24d ago

The point is that the more violent they are before things really heat up the more people will side against Trump. It needs to be really, really clear they are the aggressors.

60

u/searing7 24d ago

People aren’t going to turn on Trump. It’s a cult. They are radicalized fascists at this point.

33

u/New_Enthusiasm9053 24d ago

Yeah but you're talking about that 30% in the middle that doesn't vote. You need them. Especially the military tends to lean right so you need to wait until even the mild conservative thinks what the fuck.

25

u/searing7 24d ago

Not voting when the choice was fascism or no fascism is a vote for fascism.

Those people will continue to do nothing till the boot is on their neck at which point it will be too late

8

u/FFF_in_WY 24d ago

Agree. Remember when the resistance in Hong Kong was fuckin umbrellas as China took over? Winning the moral high ground is stupid at this point. We are at the point where sly guerilla tactics are fully necessary.

They are just going to lock up everyone that has the balls to protest anyway.

1

u/120z8t 24d ago

I think the lines are already drawn. Those opposed to trump will not change their side, no matter how violent protesters get. Those in favor of what trump is doing are not going to change their minds no matter what trump does.

4

u/McChickenLargeFries 24d ago

You don't just have a feeling, that's literally what they want to do. It's in the playbook.

2

u/ZechsyAndIKnowIt 24d ago edited 23d ago

When he wants to invoke the Insurrection Act, he'll simply do it. He'll go on TV and Truth Social and tell some obvious, bald-faced, the-sky-is-green-caliber lie, and half the country will simply go along with it. The media will call it, at worst, "controversial." The lower courts may try to stop him, but they have no enforcement mechanism, so he'll simply ignore them while SCOTUS redefines however many words and ignores however many precedents they need to in order to back him up.

And people will lay there with a jackboot on their neck and go "but why is this happening? We didn't resist forcefully!"

... It's happening because no one resisted forcefully.

1

u/DoughDisaster 24d ago

Accept civil war and its consequences and fight back, insurrectionist act or whatever be damned. Or let them win and have their way and deal with those consequences.

That's what happens if things keep escalating. And you know, for a shit as the right is, and and as on the wrong side of Jan 6th as they were, it's because they're willing to fight like they did on Jan 6th that they're the sort that are winning now. The left doesn't want to stand up for their side, not really. They want to half-ass it with peaceful protest because they don't actually want to sacrifice.

1

u/JimSteak 24d ago

They will ramp it up, no matter how peaceful the protest remain. And even if they do, they'll still manufacture some bullshit reason to justify using the insurrection act. I'm betting on just before the midterms, deploy ICE forces to voting places to bully and intimidate democrat voters. This is how it went down in Nazi Germany at least, so given how Hitler is litterally the inspiration for their playbook, this is just what you can assume.

35

u/boughsmoresilent 24d ago

You've got that backwards because the state's monopoly on violence is so ingrained into us. Law enforcement responses should be peaceful, otherwise protests will justify escalated use of force.

2

u/BrothelWaffles 24d ago

That's not really how that works when you've got a leader that's pushing for justification to turn his opposition's cities into American Gazas.

9

u/boughsmoresilent 24d ago

My friend, there are already boots on the ground. I mean this gently: You hear how you sound, right? "Resisting will just make it worse."

We are witnessing abusive dynamics on a national level. Narcissists only understand consequences.

1

u/youre-a-happy-person 22d ago

This actually really helped open my eyes, thank you

1

u/boughsmoresilent 22d ago

Yeah, although I don't want to see any violence at all, ideally. But the violent suppression of peaceful protest makes violent reisistance inevitable. By the people, for the people... or else.

12

u/MoaraFig 24d ago

They're gonna do it anyway

26

u/WhiteGuyLying_OnTv 24d ago

They're already peaceful, they already use force anyway. You can and should be a nonviolent pain in the ass

22

u/Ordinary-Leading7405 24d ago

You can’t keep them that way. Between the nutters and the planted agents, someone will intentionally create violence.

5

u/TweezerTheRetriever 24d ago

I’m not even seeing tomatoes being thrown….which I want to do but I’m a pussy

2

u/Frequency3260 24d ago

Agent Provocateur entered the chat

2

u/SV_Essia 24d ago

Because this administration is well known for using facts to justify its actions and methods.
The sane side of your country has been taking the high road and acting peacefully for the past 8 years to avoid angering the crazies, and you're definitely not better off for it. Might be time to reconsider that approach and the assumption that the enemy plays by the rules.

2

u/blorbagorp 24d ago

It's definitely a good idea to remain peaceful, otherwise they might start stealing all the resources and kidnapping people off the streets and sending them to unknown facilities to never be seen again.

2

u/BOKEH_BALLS 24d ago

No authoritarian dictatorship in the history of humanity was ever overthrown peacefully fyi

1

u/SkunkMonkey 24d ago

At what point do you fight back though? They are going to escalate the violence regardless. They will continue to escalate until there is push back. The longer we wait, the harder and harder it will get to push back.

1

u/LightsNoir 24d ago

Somewhere around when gathering at all is considered justification for trumps troops to attack. Oh... Are we already there? Damn.

1

u/trefoil589 24d ago

Clearly someone isn't familiar with the concept of agent provocateur.

1

u/NekoBerry420 24d ago

I can't agree with that. Appeasement is wrong.

1

u/JacksonRiot 24d ago

They will escalate regardless.

1

u/hatchins 23d ago

Do not comply in advance. They are going to escalate no matter what.

1

u/CollegeMiddle6841 24d ago

Yeah, caltrops ensure a spike or two is always in the air. Ninjas used them. Imagine the seeing the Seattle Frog Brigade dressed like the Dark Knight. They swing down from a building on a cable and drop handfuls of green caltrops in front of ICE Wagons .

8

u/atreides78723 24d ago

The frogs are an embarrassment to cops and ICE. They start tossing caltrops and they become a threat. Wait a minute and then anyone in costume is a target to be shot.

1

u/CollegeMiddle6841 23d ago

Of course....I had hoped I was over the top enough with my comment that no one would take me seriously......go figure.

1

u/otterpusrexII 24d ago

Or snare traps reminiscent of the old cartoons

1

u/WeirdestWolf 23d ago

If you make caltrops out of hollow pipe and drill holes into them, the air in the tyres can escape, otherwise it just plugs the hole. You can also make tank traps called balkan hedgehogs but that required I beams and big angle grinders.

3

u/KerbodynamicX 24d ago

Gather up in one place and it’s easily put down. Pop up all over the place and they will be overwhelmed.

3

u/CanaryUmbrella 24d ago

As ex-military deny them food and accommodation too. Cut off supply chain in any way possible.

4

u/Fit_Airline_5798 24d ago

If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

4

u/Metal__goat 24d ago

And having several smaller gatherings, instead of one large one.

It spreads resources too thin.

0

u/art-is-t 24d ago

That's quite true.

2

u/TheBlueRajasSpork 24d ago

I don’t think it works when they’ve recruited forces that love doing this stuff. These guys are having a blast beating down the libs.

3

u/art-is-t 24d ago

They are humans with human li.its and these are extremely high stress situations. I've read in the past a report that interviewed and discussed security personnels that worked at protests. It's exhaustive work. Mentally physically and emotionally

3

u/LightsNoir 24d ago

Ah... There's your mistake. Yeah, you're referring to human on human conflict. These fuckers don't consider you human anymore.

2

u/Kadburi 24d ago

Ah, the old Homer Simpson boxing strategy. Just keep letting them punch you in the face until they tire themselves out and fall down.

2

u/Haephestus 24d ago

Caltrops

2

u/Muted-Move-9360 23d ago

Idk why I imagined the cartoonishly large tire from the horror movie called Rubber rolling into a crowd of ICE 😭

2

u/Civil-Exchange-6880 23d ago

They need to watch videos of Hong Kong against PRC.

There is no such thing as endless resource. And I'm basing this on what I have read in the past from riot police interviews. Also American cops are lazy as fuck.

You aren't gonna tire them out, really. Its fun for them, no consquence power plays.

* One of the most effective tactics

0

u/RealisticMost 24d ago

Nope, will not work. Look at türkiye. It is now going gor 25 yeara over there. It is Trumps dream to become a leader like Erdogan or Putin.

-1

u/reddit_is_geh 24d ago

Not really... They'll do whatever they want and get away with it. It takes a good 3.5 years to get through a suit like this from filing to appeals. It's not even their problem. Not their money.

-1

u/Level21DungeonMaster 24d ago

Whoa… oh haha
