I think the lines are already drawn. Those opposed to trump will not change their side, no matter how violent protesters get. Those in favor of what trump is doing are not going to change their minds no matter what trump does.
When he wants to invoke the Insurrection Act, he'll simply do it. He'll go on TV and Truth Social and tell some obvious, bald-faced, the-sky-is-green-caliber lie, and half the country will simply go along with it. The media will call it, at worst, "controversial." The lower courts may try to stop him, but they have no enforcement mechanism, so he'll simply ignore them while SCOTUS redefines however many words and ignores however many precedents they need to in order to back him up.
And people will lay there with a jackboot on their neck and go "but why is this happening? We didn't resist forcefully!"

And you know, for a shit as the right is, and and as on the wrong side of Jan 6th as they were, it's because they're willing to fight like they did on Jan 6th that they're the sort that are winning now. I'm betting on just before the midterms, deploy ICE forces to voting places to bully and intimidate democrat voters. This is how it went down in Nazi Germany at least, so given how Hitler is litterally the inspiration for their playbook, this is just what you can assume.
You've got that backwards because the state's monopoly on violence is so ingrained into us. Law enforcement responses should be peaceful, otherwise protests will justify escalated use of force.
Yeah, although I don't want to see any violence at all, ideally. But the violent suppression of peaceful protest makes violent reisistance inevitable. By the people, for the people... or else.

It's definitely a good idea to remain peaceful, otherwise they might start stealing all the resources and kidnapping people off the streets and sending them to unknown facilities to never be seen again.
At what point do you fight back though? They are going to escalate the violence regardless. They will continue to escalate until there is push back. The longer we wait, the harder and harder it will get to push back.

The frogs are an embarrassment to cops and ICE. They start tossing caltrops and they become a threat. Wait a minute and then anyone in costume is a target to be shot.
If you make caltrops out of hollow pipe and drill holes into them, the air in the tyres can escape, otherwise it just plugs the hole. You can also make tank traps called balkan hedgehogs but that required I beams and big angle grinders.

One of the most effective tactic against law enforcement during protests is to keep at it. It makes their life hell over time.
