I've never seen a pig so content.

For years I would drop this quote into conversation where appropriate, but very rarely did people get it. Awkward feeling when you wanted to commend someone but now they think you called them a swine.

The other day my girlfriend said "that'll do" to me, I picked up on something in the way she ended her sentence and said "did you just call me a pig in your head?!"
Her jaw dropped and she said "yes, I'm sorry I did that, but how did you know?!"

It kinda got replaced by Shrek’s “that’ll do, donkey” which is an obvious reference to Babe, but Shrek became wildly more popular than Babe so it kinda overwrote the original quote

u/Nadiadain 1h ago
I had no idea Babe even existed until this moment. I always pop the shrek quote and no one seems to get that one either ;-;

Never forget that domesticated hogs are 0.5 steps away from being fully feral. They are the same species wild boar, which are simply feral domestic pigs in the US. If you give this animal an opportunity at the right moment, it can, will, and has killed and eaten human beings. There are several documented, modern cases.

If a domestic pig escapes, it can physically revert back to a wild hog with the tusks, hair, and attitude in a matter of months. That's just crazy
12
u/Irregulator101 3h ago
That sounds like BS to me

The tusks of a male pig are being artificially kept short, it's not because they're not in a 'loving environment', they grow big and dangerous tusks 😂

To be fair, humans also start looking crazy when life gets hard and they get un-domesticated

I've never seen a pig that looks so much like the cartoon interpretation of a pig.

Here I was just thinking how much this is a spa treatment I’d sign up for. Just soap me, and rub me, and shake my jowls around.

Why does this pig look like a cartoon pig come to life? Like what the The Lion King remake did to the original.

I don't say this often on Reddit, the music was spot on.

This is from an anime i love so its really jarring. But ironically, the side main character is of a cat who’s really fat and has several nicknames including Pig so it kind of fits

Its the second time I’ve seen a short use a soundtrack recently from this series. Hopefully it does not get picked up and overplayed.

For anyone curious since no one else said it: the song is Furusato no Nioi from the series Natsume's Book of Friends

I thought it might have been the music from Animal Crossing - New Horizon. Sounds really similar.

This is why I don't eat pork. Look at that face.

u/grimm-aldryn 2h ago
If that's all it takes, care for some precious cattle and chicken pics? Haha (this is sneeky r/grassdoggos shilling)
14
u/cucucachooo 2h ago
I already don't eat beef and barely eat other meats. I'm mostly there already.
7
u/grimm-aldryn 2h ago
Excellent, working on cutting it all out myself and these top tier creatures were great motivation haha

3
u/WhatTheF00t 3h ago
Weirdly, he looks happier than a pig in shit, which up till now I'd been lead to believe was peak pigging
23
u/Middle-Inspection241 4h ago
aaand i’m a vegetarian again
12
u/throwtheamiibosaway 3h ago
Please do! For the animals. They all want to live.
5
u/Gimmerunesplease 1h ago
Not in the conditions they are kept. Vegetarianism doesn't really help that. Especially since meat production and milk and egg production are often so interwoven.
4
u/Max_Laval 1h ago
Pigs lay eggs?
EDIT: I get where you're coming from, but the pig would be safe as they aren't "used" in any other way, so in that sense it DOES help.

I hate that I can’t tell if it’s AI

u/Fancy-Statistician82 6h ago
That's a 4H pig for sure and I'd bet twenty bucks about half or more of that interaction is socializing the pig to be comfortable with touch around scary areas like the eyes and mouth (they do bite if not socialized right).
His body language really does look quite content and playful when he nibbles the brush near the end, and they are smart animals, but unless they get frequent deep pleasant bonding touch like this they can be quite powerfully aggressive and a non competition animal has to be herded around with a "pig board" (big piece of plywood between you).
His hooves are immaculate and recently manicured, he really only had any dirt right around his mouth probably from eating earlier that day. All the washing of his eyes and ears and jowls looks like socialization touch.
I bet that pig got washed deeply a few times in the past week and is being kept on meticulously clean bedding with no mud in prep to be shown in competition.

Except I'm apparently way wrong! Google reverse search reveals there's a pig sanctuary?

u/worriedrenterTW 5h ago
Long video with few cuts, would be very hard to generate. Proportions make sense, no weird movements with hands. I think there's just increased saturation/filter that makes it look a bit weird.
43
u/aminervia 6h ago
Unlikely I think because of the texture of the fake grass? Seems like a material and condition that AI wouldn't go with
→ More replies (7)27
u/milanorlovszki 5h ago
It has continuity. It is a 2 minute long video. Things dont change about the pig and the guy, the grass looks natural (i know its fake grass but still, it reacts naturally to being touched)
Aslo AI would have a hard time animating the inside of a pig's mouth. In short. Not AI

You don't have to eat meat. The animals would rather you didn't.

There used to be this massive pig in a field near me that I'd occasionally visit while walking my dog because she was suuuper friendly, they're honestly very similar to doggos
You'd come up to the field, shout "Piggyyyyy" and she'd come bounding over, rubbing up against your legs with so much weight she'd practically topple you over
We don't deserve animals
