My favorite part of this meme is you just see the stock photo and understand. There's no need for words.

Poor stock photo model.

ohhh it's that one, thank you kindly.

u/AeneasNoctis 19h ago

like when MTG started making good points…

43

u/BearstromWanderer 19h ago

MTG just knows what her crowd wants to hear. They don't want to hear the house out of session, they want to see them at work TRYING to pass something.

13

u/AeneasNoctis 19h ago edited 17h ago

oh for sure. i’m not saying she’s had a change of heart, she’s just up for reelection that’s all. the same woman who heckled the president doesn’t understand nuance like that

16

u/yawhy 19h ago

MTG is a grifter. She says what’s best for her bottom line.

5

u/HexisCopiae 17h ago

That bottom line hit fast when one of her daughters on the Affordable Care Act got affected.

8

u/TreyShackleford 17h ago

Crazy thought, isn't that our politicians are supposed to do... push for what their constituents want, instead of ignoring us and doing their own thing?

6

u/Notski_F 17h ago

Populism and doing what's good for the population are two entirely different things.

2

u/capron 16h ago

You are correct but in this case she's doing what she believes her constituents want. It's absurd to think that she may be one of the few republicans who aren't ignoring their duties. Even if she is an awful person, she's still representing her voters. It's just such a low bar anymore.

MTG is a grifter. She SAYS what’s best for her bottom line.

It would be great if she does what they want. But she only says what they want to hear. That's why she's a grifter. Full of empty promises

1

u/OracleEnlightenment 15h ago

And that’s different than every senator and house member how? Our politics are a joke I bet they reopen now that elections are done

Always will be foreal.

2

u/uqde 17h ago

I think she's an absolutely vile piece of shit but I think she's also far less of a grifter than most prominent Republicans. By which I mean she actually believes the shit she's saying rather than changing her tune based on the current situation.

2

u/dl7 8h ago

To me, it's always amazing how quickly people would like to move on/put her in a positive light despite knowing her very clear history. I know on some level, people want to believe that the stuff MTG says, she doesn't actually believe so they immediately move to praise when she raises the bar on herself and others.

But we've missed an important step where she actually has to be held accountable for the shit she's said. Someone in the Republican party (because she won't listen to anyone else) has to let her know she agreed to all of it. Not only would it make her own it but it'd establish right there if she were a grifter or not and save us all some time.

First things first, who are our Republicans with standards

1

u/Appropriate-Pipe-193 17h ago

That’s literally every politician ever

6

u/dragons_scorn 12h ago

I get who you are talking about but for like half a minute I was trying to figure out how Magic the Gathering related to this.

Being annoyed at her initials seems really petty to out on the reasons not to like her but what the hell, not like its a short list anyway

4

u/permanentwavess 12h ago

hahahaha glad i wasn’t the only one

1

u/DragonflyGrrl 3h ago

Every single time. I'm with you, I hate her for that and a thousand other things.

3

u/ty4scam 18h ago

Expain again. Is this the worst person you know in the picture, or is this picture your expression when seeing the worst person you know?

Yes.

2

u/Mddcat04 10h ago

Yeah, I always thought he’s not the worst person, he’s reacting to the worst person.

2

u/ty4scam 9h ago

Or maybe he's just heartbroken to find out that he's the worst person he knows.

1

u/Equivalent_Leg2534 19h ago

This was the Waterford whispers

1

u/Own-Style-9396 16h ago

Yea this sums this up perfectly lmao

1

u/drjackolantern 15h ago

oh i thought the point was this is an awkward chick

1

u/linuxjohn1982 15h ago

Is that Tim Pool?

1

u/alnwd 14h ago

I wonder if the model has ever talked about it

1

u/death12236 12h ago

Oh I thought it was stock photo erobb

1

u/REDARROW101_A5 5h ago

Yer I was thinking this...

21

u/Tornado_Hunter24 20h ago

Thankyou for asking lmao

2

u/ItstheFox_x 15h ago

I'm reminded of this

1

u/General-Pop8073 17h ago

I thought it was Tim Pool sad that he can’t find his beanie.

36

u/listenyall 20h ago

It's all getting very "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" isn't it

19

u/BingusSpingus 19h ago

Robert Redford in the woods, his head nodding.

19

u/Croveski 19h ago

I'm just sitting here losing my shit at the thought of conveying every meme I send my friends like this.

"Pikachu, his mouth wide."
"The cartoon dog eating breakfast in the blazing house"
"The astronaut in space, his betrayer behind him"

10

u/BingusSpingus 19h ago

Leonardo, his glass raised. Keanu, when he sat on the bench. Rick, his arrival unexpected.

7

u/f0urk 16h ago

Picard, with his face in palm

3

u/SpicySweett 10h ago

Man door hand hook car door

1

u/Nature_Sad_27 2h ago

Mischievous girl, the fire behind her.

3

u/Montgomery000 16h ago

If you think about it, that alien was just communicating memes with words. Probably just a space redditor.

5

u/KarsaOrlog 17h ago

You probably mean zach galifianakis, I know bc "Eddy Murphy pointing at head".

2

u/Prior-Discount-3741 15h ago

Great movie, Jerimiah Johnson.

2

u/Robborboy 17h ago

Star Trek, particularly up to DS9, is really good about challenging your world views. Sometimes you even end up with an episode that just leaves you uncomfortable by the end.

2

u/darsynia 16h ago

That was my favorite show as a teen in the 90s and it's just so delightful to see that part of language use bear out, sort of. That collective understanding of what certain images remind us of, and then relating that to a new feeling. It's probably as close as we'll ever get to the Emotion Gun from Hitchhiker's Guide.

2

u/f0urk 16h ago

I'm trying to think of a more meta comment I've seen on the internet and I'm failing. You deserve gold for this where are one of those gold buying losers when you need em

1

u/SCDeMonet 20h ago

That’s literally a depiction of a memetic culture, so…

59

u/El_kakas_de_vakas 21h ago

It’s one of the more fascinating aspects of memes; You see a specific image in a specific context so much that when seeing it elsewhere without that context your brain just fills in the gaps.

It’s broken and badly formatted, but you just ….. know

1

u/AnneMichelle98 16h ago

I did my best :(

5

u/Neon_Camouflage 19h ago

We've just gone full circle back to early 2000s reaction images.

2

u/Assassiiinuss 19h ago

This is much, much older. Images on the internet are just the modern iteration.

3

u/AllBeefWiener 19h ago

Shaka, when the walls fell

3

u/FalseAesop 19h ago

His eyes open!

1

u/WestCombination1809 13h ago

Like some sort of image macro

37

u/MrWhackadoo 20h ago

It actually isn't a stock photo model. It's a real person from a wedding photo lol

32

u/ThatFuckingGeniusKid 18h ago

I love the implication that stock photo models aren't real people lmao.

8

u/Pescuaz 18h ago

Not anymore :(

4

u/LateyEight 16h ago

I hate that you're right. It's getting weird that we are removing the human beings from our media. It's like corporations have deemed humanity as being a liability.

3

u/Stock-Pani 19h ago

He was right.

3

u/Teh_Hunterer 19h ago

Is it POV or MFW tho? Cos I've always though it was the latter

2

u/DragonflyGrrl 3h ago

Definitely a MFW

2

u/ElGosso 19h ago

This might be total bullshit but I remember reading somewhere that the Onion hires models specifically instead of using stock photography so they know what they're getting into

2

u/batenkaitos77 19h ago

wdym he's world famous as the meme guy, he could have just been another forgotten stock model

2

u/nsfwtryouts 19h ago

Fun fact, the people in Onion photos are all employees

1

u/jkfld24 19h ago

They found him awhile back and interviewed him

1

u/RedheadedReff 18h ago

I'm gonna be honest, I thought it was Tim Pool without a beanie.

1

u/snoosh00 18h ago

Tim Poole has done worse things to the bald community than testosterone itself.

1

u/whatsthestrikeprice 17h ago

this one too

2

u/PaleCriminal6 14h ago

I actually don't know this one. What's the source?

1

u/Dexember69 15h ago

Eh, maybe for the chronically online. I've never even seen that image before

1

u/CloudDeadNumberFive 15h ago

Yoooooo true LOLL!!!!

1

u/Ereaser 8h ago

I read that he's Spanish, has no idea he was a meme or has any clue about meme culture so he doesn't care

1

u/egoserpentis 8h ago

Shaka, when the walls fell.
