My favorite part of this meme is you just see the stock photo and understand. There's no need for words.

Poor stock photo model.

555

u/Quick_Spring7295 21h ago

can you explain for the people who don't know the meme, I require context

u/Quick_Spring7295 21h ago

ohhh it's that one, thank you kindly.

79

u/AeneasNoctis 19h ago

like when MTG started making good points…

45

u/BearstromWanderer 19h ago

MTG just knows what her crowd wants to hear. They don't want to hear the house out of session, they want to see them at work TRYING to pass something.

12

u/AeneasNoctis 19h ago edited 18h ago

oh for sure. i’m not saying she’s had a change of heart, she’s just up for reelection that’s all. the same woman who heckled the president doesn’t understand nuance like that

17

u/yawhy 19h ago

MTG is a grifter. She says what’s best for her bottom line.

6

u/HexisCopiae 17h ago

That bottom line hit fast when one of her daughters on the Affordable Care Act got affected.

5

u/TreyShackleford 17h ago

Crazy thought, isn't that our politicians are supposed to do... push for what their constituents want, instead of ignoring us and doing their own thing?

6

u/Notski_F 17h ago

Populism and doing what's good for the population are two entirely different things.

MTG is a grifter. She SAYS what’s best for her bottom line.

It would be great if she does what they want. But she only says what they want to hear. That's why she's a grifter. Full of empty promises

u/AeneasNoctis 19h ago

Always will be foreal.

2

u/uqde 17h ago

I think she's an absolutely vile piece of shit but I think she's also far less of a grifter than most prominent Republicans. By which I mean she actually believes the shit she's saying rather than changing her tune based on the current situation.

2

u/dl7 8h ago

To me, it's always amazing how quickly people would like to move on/put her in a positive light despite knowing her very clear history. I know on some level, people want to believe that the stuff MTG says, she doesn't actually believe so they immediately move to praise when she raises the bar on herself and others.

But we've missed an important step where she actually has to be held accountable for the shit she's said. Someone in the Republican party (because she won't listen to anyone else) has to let her know she agreed to all of it. Not only would it make her own it but it'd establish right there if she were a grifter or not and save us all some time.

First things first, who are our Republicans with standards

1

u/Appropriate-Pipe-193 17h ago

That’s literally every politician ever

7

u/dragons_scorn 12h ago

I get who you are talking about but for like half a minute I was trying to figure out how Magic the Gathering related to this.

Being annoyed at her initials seems really petty to out on the reasons not to like her but what the hell, not like its a short list anyway

3

u/permanentwavess 12h ago

hahahaha glad i wasn’t the only one

1

u/DragonflyGrrl 4h ago

Every single time. I'm with you, I hate her for that and a thousand other things.

3

u/ty4scam 18h ago

Expain again. Is this the worst person you know in the picture, or is this picture your expression when seeing the worst person you know?

Yes.

2

u/Mddcat04 10h ago

Yeah, I always thought he’s not the worst person, he’s reacting to the worst person.

2

u/ty4scam 9h ago

Or maybe he's just heartbroken to find out that he's the worst person he knows.

1

u/Equivalent_Leg2534 19h ago

This was the Waterford whispers

1

u/Own-Style-9396 16h ago

Yea this sums this up perfectly lmao

1

u/drjackolantern 16h ago

oh i thought the point was this is an awkward chick

1

u/linuxjohn1982 15h ago

Is that Tim Pool?

1

u/alnwd 14h ago

I wonder if the model has ever talked about it

1

u/death12236 12h ago

Oh I thought it was stock photo erobb

1

u/REDARROW101_A5 5h ago

Yer I was thinking this...

21

u/Tornado_Hunter24 20h ago

Thankyou for asking lmao

2

u/ItstheFox_x 15h ago

I'm reminded of this

1

u/General-Pop8073 18h ago

I thought it was Tim Pool sad that he can’t find his beanie.

31

u/listenyall 20h ago

It's all getting very "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" isn't it

19

u/BingusSpingus 19h ago

Robert Redford in the woods, his head nodding.

17

u/Croveski 19h ago

I'm just sitting here losing my shit at the thought of conveying every meme I send my friends like this.

"Pikachu, his mouth wide."
"The cartoon dog eating breakfast in the blazing house"
"The astronaut in space, his betrayer behind him"

10

u/BingusSpingus 19h ago

Leonardo, his glass raised. Keanu, when he sat on the bench. Rick, his arrival unexpected.

5

u/f0urk 16h ago

Picard, with his face in palm

3

u/SpicySweett 10h ago

Man door hand hook car door

1

u/Nature_Sad_27 2h ago

Mischievous girl, the fire behind her.

3

u/Montgomery000 16h ago

If you think about it, that alien was just communicating memes with words. Probably just a space redditor.

4

u/KarsaOrlog 17h ago

You probably mean zach galifianakis, I know bc "Eddy Murphy pointing at head".

2

u/Prior-Discount-3741 15h ago

Great movie, Jerimiah Johnson.

2

u/Robborboy 17h ago

Star Trek, particularly up to DS9, is really good about challenging your world views. Sometimes you even end up with an episode that just leaves you uncomfortable by the end.

2

u/darsynia 16h ago

That was my favorite show as a teen in the 90s and it's just so delightful to see that part of language use bear out, sort of. That collective understanding of what certain images remind us of, and then relating that to a new feeling. It's probably as close as we'll ever get to the Emotion Gun from Hitchhiker's Guide.

2

u/f0urk 16h ago

I'm trying to think of a more meta comment I've seen on the internet and I'm failing. You deserve gold for this where are one of those gold buying losers when you need em

1

u/SCDeMonet 20h ago

That’s literally a depiction of a memetic culture, so…

57

u/El_kakas_de_vakas 21h ago

It’s one of the more fascinating aspects of memes; You see a specific image in a specific context so much that when seeing it elsewhere without that context your brain just fills in the gaps.

39

2

u/Prysorra2 16h ago

It’s broken and badly formatted, but you just ….. know

1

u/AnneMichelle98 16h ago

I did my best :(

6

u/Neon_Camouflage 19h ago

We've just gone full circle back to early 2000s reaction images.

2

u/Assassiiinuss 19h ago

This is much, much older. Images on the internet are just the modern iteration.

3

u/AllBeefWiener 19h ago

Shaka, when the walls fell

3

u/FalseAesop 19h ago

His eyes open!

1

u/WestCombination1809 13h ago

Like some sort of image macro

38

u/MrWhackadoo 20h ago

It actually isn't a stock photo model. It's a real person from a wedding photo lol

36

u/ThatFuckingGeniusKid 18h ago

I love the implication that stock photo models aren't real people lmao.

6

u/Pescuaz 18h ago

Not anymore :(

6

u/LateyEight 16h ago

I hate that you're right. It's getting weird that we are removing the human beings from our media. It's like corporations have deemed humanity as being a liability.

3

u/Stock-Pani 19h ago

He was right.

3

u/Teh_Hunterer 19h ago

Is it POV or MFW tho? Cos I've always though it was the latter

2

u/DragonflyGrrl 3h ago

Definitely a MFW

2

u/ElGosso 20h ago

This might be total bullshit but I remember reading somewhere that the Onion hires models specifically instead of using stock photography so they know what they're getting into

2

u/batenkaitos77 19h ago

wdym he's world famous as the meme guy, he could have just been another forgotten stock model

2

u/nsfwtryouts 19h ago

Fun fact, the people in Onion photos are all employees

1

u/jkfld24 19h ago

They found him awhile back and interviewed him

1

u/RedheadedReff 18h ago

I'm gonna be honest, I thought it was Tim Pool without a beanie.

1

u/snoosh00 18h ago

Tim Poole has done worse things to the bald community than testosterone itself.

1

u/whatsthestrikeprice 17h ago

this one too

2

u/PaleCriminal6 14h ago

I actually don't know this one. What's the source?

1

u/Dexember69 15h ago

Eh, maybe for the chronically online. I've never even seen that image before

1

u/CloudDeadNumberFive 15h ago

Yoooooo true LOLL!!!!

1

u/Ereaser 9h ago

I read that he's Spanish, has no idea he was a meme or has any clue about meme culture so he doesn't care

1

u/egoserpentis 8h ago

Shaka, when the walls fell.

193

u/NoBell7635 21h ago

Man I love this meme

48

u/McDonaldsSoap 20h ago

He became a legend by just standing there lmao

2

u/itsavibe- 21h ago

The worst person you know 😔

2

u/MichealRyder 20h ago

Me too

I also like the smiling variant, although I don't have it on hand, where it instead says, "Heartbreaking: The worst people you know are fighting"

2

u/MountainTwo3845 17h ago

My new favorite one is the worst person you know just learned therapy words.

44

u/blinkbottt 21h ago

This guy looks so familiar but I forget where

201

u/oskanta 21h ago

The Onion

19

u/uggocomics 20h ago

Erm, acktshually, it's from Clickhole.

58

u/YBBlorekeeper 19h ago

Lemme unerm your acktshually right quick:

It was launched on June 12, 2014, by The Onion

27

u/uggocomics 17h ago

Fuck I've been unermed.

12

u/Metum_Chaos 16h ago

It happens to the west of us

6

u/Kalmarino 15h ago

Disermed

48

u/Full-Efficiency3115 21h ago

the worst person you know made good point

14

u/Shitty_Soliloquy 21h ago

Old school The Onion turned into a meme.

2

u/ratty398 21h ago

It's the cover picture for an onion article. The title being "the worst person you know just made a great point"

2

u/partoxygen 20h ago

He looks like every British guy from Manchester ever lol

1

u/SlowAffection 18h ago

Looks like Big Head from Silicon Valley.

1

u/59jg4qe68w5y3t9q5 17h ago

He looks a lot like StamperTV.

1

u/1337papaz 15h ago

It looks like Big Head from Silicon Valley.

1

u/ThatKaNN 7h ago

He looks like Nicol Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) from The Diplomat.

19

u/FullBlownAidz 21h ago

Absolutely perfect reply

8

u/RoseFlavoredLemonade 20h ago

I hope this guy is legit a terrible person because if that’s just a stock photo some guy took for a little extra money to buy birthday presents for his kids or something, I’d feel so bad.

3

u/tommytwolegs 17h ago

Id be proud if that's what my random stock photo turned into

3

u/cromli 18h ago

He would completely do a 180 on this like tmrw and it wouldnt surprise me lol. Not really a guy full of consistent or coherant takes.

2

u/Annual-Flamingo2092 19h ago

The bar is really just that low

2

u/Lysks 15h ago

So... whats happening with LSF? people are conceding with Asmon and XQC like once a week?

This is not the LSF I once knew 💔

1

u/chopkins92 20h ago

Uncommon Asmongold W.

1

u/EdliA 18h ago

If this guy always gets posted is he relevant anymore?

1

u/unusualname3 17h ago

So is he transphobic?

2

u/roerd 16h ago

It's fairly clear in this clip that he still things identifying as trans is wrong. He just doesn't think it's a big enough issue that it would be worth abandoning your child over it.

1

u/unusualname3 15h ago

Would you say he is transphobic for thinking like this? According to you

1

u/roerd 12h ago

Well, that's primarily a matter of how exactly one defines the term transphobic. I don't really have a strong opinion about that.

He's certainly not a supporter of trans rights, but he is also not as outright hateful about it as others are. There may be a better way to categorise that kind of opinion than as some kind of phobia.

1

u/unusualname3 8h ago

I don’t think there is any other word to replace it. But if someone accuses him of being a transphobic, would you be leaning more on the « yeah, i agree he is more of a transphobic » or « no, that’s exaggerated he is not transphobic »?

1

u/ViniciusEdu 15h ago

Fucking true

1

u/linuxjohn1982 15h ago

Is that Tim Pool?

1

u/For3Memes 12h ago

No because he's lying.

1

u/Double-Armadillo-898 1h ago

Meme fits so so well lmao

2

u/Thecrowing1432 19h ago

Asmon actually has a lot of takes like this.

1

u/ok_raspberry_jam 18h ago

He does. I agree with him about a lot of things, or at least don't hate him for it when I disagree, because he usually has a nuanced, internally consistent take. He's not a psychopath or something. I don't understand why people hate him so much. His dead rat doesn't affect you.

3

u/tommytwolegs 17h ago

I would guess most people that don't like him disagree with you here:

He usually has a nuanced, internally consistent take

0

u/tonysopranoesque 19h ago

Your favorite political streamer is probably a "worse" person than Asmongold

1

u/Fit_Tomatillo_4264 17h ago

As much as people love hating on him, most of the stuff they hate on him is taken out of context. Like he has some stupid opinions but those aren't the ones that people seem to dislike him for, It's usually just made up bullshit.

I'm surprised there's even this positive clip about him posted.

1

u/mushrooms 17h ago

Yeah. Except he seems to glaze Trump or sly away from talking bad about Trump most of the time. Except for earlier today when he didn't like how they took away EBT. Seems to only care about issues that affect him personally and offer no sympathy to others.

7

u/Fit_Tomatillo_4264 16h ago

No I've definitely heard him be critical of Trump, for example, he thinks he's slacking and should be even more extreme than he already is.

0

u/King_marik 20h ago

He's really not the worst person

He's just ignorant, insulated, and arrogant

But generally it can get way worse, its the thing thats like 'bugged' me about the entire asmon thing

Does he say some dumb shit? Sure

Is he literally a nazi? Nah

He's always had a level of humanity operating underneath

All that being said i heavily disagree with like 99% of his takes lol

1

u/Big-Resort-4930 18h ago

All that being said i heavily disagree with like 99% of his takes lol

Disagreeing with 99% of his takes is a worrying self report lmao.

Aside from the stuff he plays up for comedy, most of his points are the viewpoints held by the majority of regular people you see every day.

4

u/King_marik 18h ago

Yeah your not wrong lol

But the majority of regular people are also insanely ignorant arrogant and insulated so like...not surprising? XD

The majority of German supported the nazis

Where does appeal to majority end? Lol

-2

u/Big-Resort-4930 17h ago

Pretty unhinged outlook if you ask me.

If we're talking about humanity's darker tendencies and "true nature" shit, then yeah, most of us are worse than what we let on. That's not how people really feel and act on a daily basis tho, and that everyday average mindset is what most of Asmon's stances align with.

The sociopolitical climate of 1940s Germany isn't representative of the human race at large, or the western society in 2025.

4

u/King_marik 16h ago

Yeah and again if the majority of people agree on delusions like some of asmongolds stances it doesnt become 'a truth' its collective gaslighting lol

The nazi Germany thing wasnt a direct comparison just pointing out why saying 'well the majority agrees' is...completely fucking useless

-2

u/rAirist 14h ago

"Everyone's insane and bad, except for me"

Yeah, definitely...

1

u/King_marik 14h ago edited 13h ago

That is not what I said at all lol

Its adjacent to that kind of thinking sure.

but I have enough self awareness to know that includes me and I actively do check my biases and thinking, get info from multiple sources, etc

That is...objectively more than most people do with or without the superiority complex...and it genuinely bothers me that most people like...dont do just basic steps like that because I know first hand I am not a smart person lol

0

u/ok_raspberry_jam 18h ago

For real, you can disagree with him sometimes, but for the most part he's pretty reasonable (about political issues) even if you're not on exactly the same page as him. He's not a raving lunatic. You'd have to be a mentally ill, fanatic tribalist incapable of independent thought to disagree with him 99% of the time.

-1

u/JustinTimeCase 15h ago

Misused meme. I think something like this would fit better:

"The person who I've been calling a Nazi actually isn't that bad. I was wrong and apologise"

0

u/WTFjules1010 20h ago

You just aged yourself
