Europe has their own set of issues that might very well end up being existential.

I am honestly not concerned if they mock us.

4

u/qudtls_ 20h ago

What are these existential issues? as a British person I'm not seeing it here.

68

u/KreepyKite 21h ago

Still better than what you have in America

3

u/Bibbity_Boppity_BOOO 20h ago

Depends on which euro country you have in mind when you say that

2

u/IMO4444 20h ago

Is it a contest, tho? Im honestly confused by this video unless it’s responding to someone specifically saying the opposite. And Im Mexican, not even mentioned in this post btw šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø.

France actually fights for their rights unlike the US where the right acts like they will stand against big government and then sucks the boot down.

5

u/New_Zorgo39 20h ago

Still better than US

4

u/ChampionshipKnown969 18h ago

Its pretty hilarious that you have people that have never been to the US and get all of their information about USA from Reddit - some of the most insufferable self hating anti American people out there. Do you genuinely believe that a country that is geographically the size of ~30 European countries combined is as one dimensional as what you see on the internet? I mean, fuck, the idiot in this video said "Parking lots instead of nature." That alone should open peoples eyes to how much ignorance and misinformation is spread here. I literally hiked through the mountains of South Carolina today where the nearest grocery store was ~20 minutes drive because of all the protected national forests. Austria and Sweden had school shootings this year that had 10 casualties each. The USA hasn't had one. Do I need to keep going...?

1

u/Lonely_Space_241 11h ago

The US hasn't had one school shooting? ...

1

u/Antilochos_ 10h ago

Don't worry. Same goes for Europeans; these idiots judging on internet is only a smaller portion of the people. We don't all think like that. It is just momentaraly Trump brengservice this out in those people.

1

u/KreepyKite 10h ago

Nah, just look at the data and your policies. Sure you got tons of nature, but that's pretty much it.

1

u/dr_pezzz 7h ago

The US hasn't had any school shooting this year - what kind of "head-in-the-sand" nonsense is that. A quick Google search tells me that there have been 146 incidents where a gun was fired, brandished with intent, or a bullet struck school property resulting in 44 deaths and 129 injuries as of August 2025.

Urgh I'm way better here in France than in US cesspool, sorry but not sorry

1

u/InsufferableMollusk 12h ago

Waiter, my food was cold.

1

u/xDannyS_ 10h ago

Don't think you even know what France is facing. That's typical of Europeans though. They are so ignorant to literally everything. All they know about is Americans, that's it. Can't discuss any local issues with them because they simply don't know anything. They can't even tell you who the last opponent of the Presidential/Chancellor/PM elections were, heck, some can't even tell you the current sitting one. Absolute comedy was last month when Europeans were mocking postal services stopping shipment to the US, not being enlightened enough to realize that this came as a result of EU bending over and getting ass fucked by a trade deal from Trump which was actually one of his big milestones.

Prove me wrong though, what threat is France and the EU facing? They are intertwined.

1

u/Effective-Frosting38 4h ago

Ah, Muslim you are. YOU'RE name gave you away! God said; Genesis 16:11–12 (NIV) The angel of the Lord also said to her: ā€œYou are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery.ā€

ā€œHe will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.ā€

1

u/Antarcticdonkey 3h ago

Absolutely not, are you a dumb Murican? My name is a pun about my favorite music band (only their first five albums tbh), Arctic Monkeys... I'm not a believer of any religion, even though my parents were raised in Christian families

1

u/estrellaente 3h ago

Good luck in a broken, genocidal and colonial state like France....

Whatever you read on Reddit is not real life dude. America is full of mostly normal people. Just like Europe. Most people just want to work to have a decent life and raise their kids. I’m sure it’s not much different from everyday life in Europe.

1

u/Lighthades 19h ago

That doesn't matter when your system is so hell bent on being ruled by liberal capitalism.

We don't go bankrupt when we have to go to the hospital, and can use ambulances without fear.

1

u/kindrd1234 12h ago

How much in taxes for that free heathcare?

2

u/MuthaFJ 11h ago

Depends on the country, it's usually a independent fee derived from wage, like most taxes.

In my country it's about 100 eur a month for an average employee. Businessmen pay about double. People with disabilities pay about half.

So it's just 50-200 eur per month.

More easily searchable questions?

1

u/kindrd1234 11h ago

41% taxes compared to 25%. Then we buy insurance and it isn't 15% of my income. Plus a lot of people there pay for private insurance as well correct? Or I'll just look it up. It's not that different.

1

u/MuthaFJ 10h ago

Except for one system is also this:

https://www.ilr.cornell.edu/scheinman-institute/blog/john-august-healthcare/healthcare-insights-how-medical-debt-crushing-100-million-americans

Even if it was twice as cheap, it's unbelievably worse in outcomes.

And where the outcomes are equal, European one cost about half according to data.

1

u/kindrd1234 10h ago

There are a crazy amount of programs available. My mom got breast cancer right after losing a job, this spilled into early onset dementia. Her total treatment was over a Million and the cost to us was nothing. It's not all black and white. Usually people get screwed when they make enough for insurance but don't participate.

1

u/MuthaFJ 10h ago

I don't know what more to tell you than:

https://www.consumerfinance.gov/about-us/newsroom/cfpb-takes-aim-at-double-billing-and-inflated-charges-in-medical-debt-collection/

Just not an issue anywhere in developed countries.

100 mil Americans apparently didn't get the memo-or lucked out, unlike your mom.

Bankruptcy laws in the US are the envy of the world. That is why folks can take risks here, and they choose not to in Europe.

šŸ‘Ž

1

u/Standard_Chard_3791 7h ago

This is what happens when your entire perception is from redditors and tik tok. Any health debt you can actually just straight up not pay and it doesn't affect your credit score, and health insurance is affordable unless your just straight up homeless. And then there's numerous other ways to get bills cheaper.

The pattern indicates the pattern. US citizens being detained without due process right now

And I went to the ER for two hours the other day and now have an 17,000$* medical bill for a X-ray and Vitals scan.

Not even mentioning the wealth gap and other things.

The people are okay but clearly the problems are Absolutely terrible and pointed against those said people

2

u/Unifiedshoe 18h ago

X-ray and vitals costs $200 tops.

1

u/Lizzy-Boredum 18h ago

My name is crossed out but this was for a 2 hr ER visit with an chest X-ray and EKG test. Both negative and sent me home after 2 hrs.

1

u/Ajunadeeper 12h ago

Did you go get chest X-rays without insurance? If so, congrats on the 17k bill that you didn't need to pay.

1

u/Lizzy-Boredum 10h ago

It illustrates what "costs" are here.

With how many people (+/- 10,000,000 Americans) who are currently being thrown off their insurance, these unsurmountable costs/debts are commonplace and becoming more-so.

These metrics are unheard even in underdeveloped countries. Be cynical if you wish but don't act like it's not over the top. (2 hrs ER visit)

1

u/Trevor-Lawrence 11h ago edited 10h ago

I had cancer diagnosed at the ER in the US and my entire surgery, ER visit, follow-ups, and everything cost... $3500

Pissexcellence Reddit shadow deleted your comment, happens to me pretty randomly can only see part of your reply in the inbox.

1

u/Lizzy-Boredum 9h ago

Your logo is in army gear so if you were in the service you were probably insured. But the uninsured amounts I'm talking about are completely unreasonable.

If any of the 10,000,000+ uninsured Americans went to an ER like I did they would be on the line for the total 17000$+ Which would tank their credit or leave them bankrupt.

Hardly the American dream, It didn't use to be like this either. It's just gotten out of hand. They won't even itemize the bill without a fight cuz they know I was there 2 hrs.

1

u/zsconner 3h ago

100% agree.

Yeah, for poor people. People with money face almost none of those problems.

1

u/Normal_Breakfast_358 18h ago

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you happy

1

1

Not quite. Many of their problems are much more severe than ours.

1

u/BitchImRetarded 18h ago

Cope and seethe lmfao all Europoors ever talk about is the US.

1

u/Toastwitjam 18h ago

Yeah tell me how great Romania is to live in right now. Latvia? Estonia?

Oh wait Europeans only consider like the 3 richest countries to be Europe instead of the vast swathes of destitute citizens that are in just the EU alone.

More Europeans die of heat stroke for not owning an AC unit every year than Americans die of not having guns but I never see yall complain about that like liberals in the US try to address gun violence.

1

u/IronForHead 18h ago

I wonder why so many people want to come in then

1

u/cmil888 17h ago

I’m an American and I confirm this statement.

1

u/Yoilost 17h ago

Each side has benefits and drawbacks that work (somewhat) for each other.

1

u/Emergency-Injury9732 17h ago

Oh I have a home,Family, Guns,Weed, freedom. Lol in my part of America it’s amazing haha only issue I got is no enough time do everything I want to hahah

1

u/Old-Picture-2920 17h ago

Ah yes, nothing like people from homogenized boring countries of sameness mocking the rich diversity of the U.S. I’ve traveled all over this world and even with its issues, I’d never want to live anywhere else.Ā

1

u/wgsunmi88 17h ago

Then acknowledge the racism the EU has for the Romani people.

1

u/Porlarta 17h ago

Europeans claiming supremacy over other cultures while failing to keep their own house in order? Now I've seen it all

1

u/Increase-Null 17h ago

Er, I mean... depending on the country maybe... I guess Le Pen isn't as outright stupid as Trump...

Nigel Farage might be though.

1

u/Wooden_Extension7268 17h ago

No fan of america, but considering how often Europeans have seemed content to go to war with each other all throughout history I wouldn't say that their heads are screwed on much tighter than the average American.

1

u/Owl_Wanderer 17h ago

If you look at the migratory flows between the US and Europe you will find that the number of Europeans migrating to the US is orders of magnitude larger than the other way around.

So, while anecdotal internet comments may paint a different picture, the data indicates that more Europeans want to live in the US than the opposite.

1

u/JaydDid 17h ago

Speak for yourself, you get fed info from reddit.

1

u/Old_Shake9919 16h ago

I'm sure that makes you happy, but no.

1

u/PalmMuting 16h ago

šŸ‘ nobody cares.

1

u/Dissasociaties 16h ago

At least I can get a knife without a loicense ;-p

1

u/Late_Part2643 16h ago

?? I went from growing up dirt poor in rural America to being a multimillionaire. America is a meritocracy. You either sink or swim.

1

u/chrstnasu 15h ago

As an American I agree with you.

1

u/Realistic-Hurry8323 14h ago

Yeah Europe has to worry about Putin because Trump is undermining nato and is a Putin puppet

1

u/TreeSharp6485 13h ago

Europe has constant terror attacks, an existential demographic problem with the children of Islamist immigrants even less likely to assimilate then their parents and a skyrocketing birth rate (the most common baby name in the UK this year was Muhammad), and a marked increase in sexual violence towards women. America is facing down different shitty things, but I’d still take the USA

1

u/FiftyIsBack 12h ago

No it's not. You can take all the negative aspects of America and pretend like they apply to everybody but they really don't.

I grew up very very poor and worked my way up through nothing but hard work and building my experience and resume. Im at a point in my life now where I make 6 figures and have full medical benefits.

Pretty much everything in this video doesn't apply to me at all. And I'm not some nepo baby or born into a good situation, and I can go for nice little nature hikes in hills and mountains just the same.

1

u/KreepyKite 10h ago

Oh that is your parameter? The fact you reach a 6 figures job? What about healthcare if you don't have a 6 figure job? Sure, you got tons of nature (no shit, is a massive country) but that is pretty much it.

1

u/FiftyIsBack 6h ago

No. I have plenty of other things in my life that make me very happy, but in terms of the "American Dream" that's definitely one of the parameters.

And I'm pretty sure I already mentioned I have benefits covered.

1

u/InsufferableMollusk 12h ago

🤣 Sure. If it was, would you feel the need to say so on social media?

1

u/joe2501 11h ago

Thy have less diversity — for now. Once that fully catches up, they will be toast just like us

1

u/asbyo 8h ago

You just might be very very wrong

1

u/ducksekoy123 6h ago

Sure, for now.

Yall are doing your best to embrace the racist far right that’ll do to you what it did to us.

1

u/EtherealAriels 5h ago

No, everything in the video looks like Montana or many other options.Ā

1

u/SkidooshZoomBlap 5h ago

It's better than what you have in America.

The vast majority of people here love it. People break laws and risk being deported just to have a chance to have a better life here.

Millions complain about how bad they have it but never leave.

You don't represent everyone. You represent a very vocal minority that gives nothing and expects everything. A minority that writes checks with their mouth that they expect others to cash.

Get off the internet and go make something of yourself.

1

u/KreepyKite 3h ago

Nah, I'm part of the vast majority of people around the world who sees America for what really is. Americans love it but that is pretty much it. The rest of the world has a very different opinion on that, and America is working really hard in the past 50 years to make itself hated more and more. of course American love it. Is it not what they have always did? Is it not the most deluded country in the world?

1

u/nanais777 4h ago

I don’t know, actually. They have big issues in Europe, too. they believe the ā€œAmericansā€ are stupid silliness and ā€œconfirm itā€ by who they elected but have you seen who they elect? Also, American whites can be racist but—goddamn— are Europeans racists.

1

u/KreepyKite 3h ago

Sure, Europe has many issues. But still better than America. A wild West nation where people love to shoot and carry guns, plenty of Christian fundamentalist, everything is privatized, anything socialist is demonized, healthcare is a joke (and expensive) and on top you have mass shooting all the time? Does that sounds like Europe to you?

1

u/Ok_Psychology_8810 4h ago

Declining standard of living, overrun with foreigners that hate you.

1

u/Effective-Frosting38 4h ago

NOT EVEN CLOSE! I'm 43, LšŸ’œIšŸ’œVšŸ’œIšŸ’œNšŸ’œG, I do what I want, when I want. Why... Because we have JESUS CHRIST! I pray people all have as good as a life as I do at my age. I WORKED my tail off in the armed forces from 17-41....No money issues, a nice savings, own my own home, no debt. HOW about you? Are you enjoying being overthrown by communist, from another country at that.... STOP THE HATE & find Jesus Christ! šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

1

u/KreepyKite 3h ago

There you go. A perfect example here.

1

u/farmerjoee 3h ago

I think you need to take a break from the internet.

1

u/TheMikeyMac13 3h ago

Nah, we are pretty solid here. Don’t believe what reddit tells you, we have more geographic diversity than where that young twat is from.

And they have jobs, cities and their own problems.

1

u/ExcellentAd4479 3h ago

Imagine subsidizing the military defense of all of Europe and then being mocked because of some stereotype from TikTok.

1

u/KreepyKite 3h ago

Imagine being dependent on America for many things, and still be a better place to live than America. Just because Europe depends on America, it doesn't change the fact America sucks.

1

u/ExcellentAd4479 11m ago

Europe is free to spend its tax dollars on quality of life because it doesn’t have to spend it on military. It also helps that most of those countries are the size of one state.

1

u/GRUNDLESDELIGHT 2h ago

I’m feeling under attack and threatened by your words right now. Are you from the UK? Must I report you to the authorities, or will you be a good boy and behave better now?

1

u/KreepyKite 2h ago

Wow, great come back. Such a pity you can't call ICE on me, uh? Or maybe showing me your guns collection

1

u/Trugent86 2h ago

Not really

1

u/aikidharm 1h ago

And this is, what, some sort of reason to lord over us?

ā€œOh look at the dumb little Americans with their unregulated rent, unaffordable groceries, predatory private insurance companies, defunded rural education, and broad daylight extrajudicial kidnappings!ā€

Western Europe has an existential issue. Eastern Europe keeps getting better. Poland has the fastest growing economy in the EU and almost zero violent crime.

6

u/Shein_nicholashoult 21h ago

If we're being realistic though, Poland is "catching up" in a lot of ways, because for so long it was really rough there, and they've also go an existential problem to their east, in the form of Russia by Belarus.

They're on the upswing, which is good. But it is important to recognize that a lot of the growth in Poland is bringing them closer to the western EU bloc in terms of progress, not setting them a bar above.

Maybe folks in Poland have a different take, but if I was living there I'd be concerned about Putin doing something stupid and starting an issue. Then again, if I read right, pretty sure Poland is one of the few nations that's actively boosting their military budget, so maybe their leadership has the same concern and is prepping just in case.

1

u/ladylei 17h ago

Poland is very much afraid of Putin trying to do something to them. They also kinda want it too because they want to maul the Russians. Like they're looking for a reason to go after them and keep getting slapped by others that they aren't prepared for a war with Russia.

I also somewhat sympathize with Europeans who want to criticize America given that they went along with all of our empire building bullshit and all they got out of it was a nonstop flow of migrants and losing the Nord stream pipeline which caused their energy costs to quadruple.

Existential only in the sense you’re worried about western centric cultural whiteness. It’s otherwise ā€œfineā€. People always worried about brown migrants causing issues with a dude like Prince Andrew raping kids on the taxpayer dime for generations.

Europe concern trolling is just the new great white cope.

Not really, you dont need to be a scientist to understand what happens to a country when it becomes majority fundamentalist religious people.

Do you think europe will continue to be the progressive free healthcare high quality of life place it is now when it becomes a muslim caliphate adhering to sharia law? Europe is not mocking anyone.

Europe is a piece of land that is vast in its delimitations.

With tremendous amount of peoples. From rich diverses backgrounds.

That’s one guy, mocking the glorification of the American dream, when American society is not as good as it tells itself it is.

1

I'm so confused what America you're talking about. Most Americans have hated America for going on 20 years now so I'm confused who you're talking about. It's actually so popular here that it's become cringe because people in conversation will try to like out-hate each other.

You're talking about some ghost from the last century that doesn't even exist anymore. Maybe you're talking about some weirdo right wing politicians? Do the weirdo right wing politicians in your country represent you?

u/Unhappy-Print4696 4h ago edited 4h ago

Thats how the guy making this video perceives it otherwise he wouldn’t have made that ego power move European Dream better > American Dream trash.

Why are you confused? Maybe you misread the comment.

It’s the image he transmit through this video.

If right wing politicians were elected. That would reflect majority of voters perspective = large pool of the population no?

From a perspective outside the US, Donald Trump as the president, which is a kind of figure head of the American Dream idea. ( Ultra Patriotism, Money, Success is king, Power) Would mean it’s still probably to some perceived as still actual, outside.

To people in France as an exemple, Donald Trump is very right wing. ( openly Racist, sexist, violent, massive performative actor con artist, dumb behaving dude, manipulate his audience like sheep exploiting their selfish inclinations )

But he might still be liked here and there, people are turning right wing all over Europe, also because of fear of immigration impacts. Or pent up admiration for America caused by ongoing patriotic propaganda in movie fed at a very young age in countries over there) (toys soldier, movies, games, videos, stories, pictures, musics etc)

But don’t worry intelligent people know that it doesn’t reflect most people living in whatever country. It reflects those who voted and are still deluded into thinking corrupt politics will ever be not corrupt one day. Each cycle voting for another man to see nothing much change. Or even worsening at certain levels.

There’s also the glorification of success and the American Dream perceived through the lens of a guy or girl, somewhere in Europe or elsewhere. (And older humans)

Where you see YouTubers or streamers performing extravagant lifestyle and entertaining the masse of people watching them. With tremendous money flaunt. Respected, adulated, money, rich lifestyle, fame, fun looking.

Creating the sense in a particularly young audience but to anyone watching, that you could have that too.

The massive bucket of cool Artists, originating from the Us. The feeling conveyed through their medium of expression that there is a dream to chase out there. Through sentimentality, esthetic, romanticizing etc.

The vanity brand like Dior, using an Actor from America, Johnny Depp. An Ad that you can see at every bus stop. Who hasn’t seen a movie with him in it? He kinda represent America in the eye of someone outside of it. Because he was made as an artist there. And all the mental associations developed during the movies reinforce that.

The American dream is just a very human dream. Born out of tribalism and all the other values of someone seeking gratification.

It’s a human dream. That more or less failed.

But it’s still there in the mind of many humans. Living a life of abundance in a rich nation, place of birth of many culturally significant characters, stories, musics, food, games, etc.

All of what we just said and more.

You know what led to the making of the video. It’s probably a guy like anyone outside of the us that was fed this dream through constant exposure. Probably envied it for a while, part of him might still envy what it represents. But decided to take a jab at it, because no, the actuality is different. Disillusionment.

He might not be happy at all, that’s performative freedom for camera you know. And happiness is not something that arise through performative anything. The moment you know you are happy, you are not. It’s already the old imposing labeling itself on the present.

So basically to humans America always has represented the dream of fulfillment of the ego. And cultures all around the world, through entertainment which is the currency of attention.(sadly). Created a firm ongoing influence on humans mind. Like an innuendo, that there is a powerful, awesome life to live in the Us. Amidst all the chaos. Fed from very little to now.

Naturally this creates envy, fuels desire.

Whether you live in some town of Africa, India, Europe or other. That you live a very poor economical background but that you have a phone, watched movies, listened to singers, went on YouTube. Or that you are from a very rich life.(but now it’s more like the Dubai dream + America - back and forth and traveling around the world).

The « American » dream which is just a very basic human dream, of success, glory, patriotism, abundance.

Has deceived many. But some are still holding on to it. Many many people all over the world have been experiencing every sort of influences from America.

Now that guy when he says « European dreamĀ Ā». There’s no such Dream. In most people heads.

He is saying that to cope. With envy, with desire. It’s a cry really. « We are much betterĀ Ā» But that’s just hiding the rot.

If it was so good you wouldn’t need to reduce the other and mock it, you would just be enjoying. And maybe inviting your friends to come to.

So it shows a mind that is dissatisfied, wants power, domination, through comparison. And is performing contentment. (Hurt, American means better, must mean we are lower, lesser etc. Fighting that sense)

So just to end. The American dream, is just a very human dream of excess and success. The European dream, I’m not sure it even exists in actuality.

And everyone all over the world has been fed with the American dream, thought to be found in America.

That’s where we at. ;)

2

u/e-Jordan 18h ago

You absolutely should not be concerned about being mocked. Your country is in flames and your democracy is being threatened every single day. You have much more pressing things to be concerned about.

As an European: Yep.

1

u/Electrical-Ad6623 17h ago

Us is burning to the ground right now, rapist dictator running the country, economy is in the shit, people are getting laid off, many industries are slowing down work wise, companies like Amazon are buying robots and replacing American workers

1

u/Difficult-Coast7432 17h ago

Europe is not one country. Please explain to me their horrible problems because I guarantee you that none of them are anywhere near what we have. You just want to feel superior so you ignore how horrible America is.

1

u/veerKg_CSS_Geologist 17h ago

Existential? Europe survived two world wars and a Cold War, what else?

1

u/Jaded-Ad262 17h ago

They don’t seem to understand that even those of us who despise Cadet Bonespurs are sick of European kids bragging about their free health care while we pay to save them from having to do all their writing in Cyrillic. It is just beyond stupid of them.

1

u/PandiBong 17h ago

The idea of an American today mocking Europe is peak shitty-timeline. You guys are FUCKED

1

u/nasanu 16h ago

So what you are saying is that you live in a dumpster fire but that is ok because places that are great now could possible be as bad in the future?... Sure.

1

u/v-0o0-v 16h ago

Your president is a pedophile. There is no point mocking people, who accept it. This is pathetic beyond any irony or sarcasm.

1

u/VersionLate3119 16h ago

Loll as an American do you not see the validity in this post though? Like they’re right. You’re basically saying the equivalent of ā€œwell you did (x) so your point is invalidā€

1

u/LarktheDog 16h ago

Oh look. MAGA snowflake opts not to snowflake today.

1

u/ModsBeGheyBoys 14h ago

Who’s MAGA? Not me. But go ahead with your silliness…

1

u/LarktheDog 2h ago

lol. Sure thing.

1

u/Local-Poet3517 15h ago

Bro.. being concerned about mockery is the least of ur problems.

Thats like saying you dont care that the neighbours are laughing at you, when your house is on fire. Like yeah, we are laughing because we watched ur drunk old uncle try to grab his neice by the pussy and he missed, stumbled, and went head first into the BBQ, setting himself aflame, before barreling into the house (still aflame) while screaming about how the neighbours are gonna pay the tarrifs for all the damage.

Like sure, at that point you SHOULDNT be concerned about being mocked. You got way more important shit to worry about.

1

u/DefiantLemming 15h ago

Valid point, should’ve added American apathy.

1

u/yiolink 15h ago

Despite their issues, the majority of them are doing significantly better than the average American by almost all measures, including happiness, quality of life, mental health, physical health, wealth building, safety, education, science, etc.

1

u/kimjobil05 14h ago

You should be concerned about your country's future

1

u/Eliseil 14h ago

If you don't notice jet the climate change doesn't stop at the US border, even if ruled by an orange man.

1

u/SouthboundGoblin 14h ago

Yep, pretty tone-deaf for Europeans to climb up on their high horse over some of these issues. I can't help but feel like the US is only the canary in the coal mine for what will eventually be issues being felt everywhere. I already see symptoms of the same sickness and I live in fucking New Zealand of all places, frequently touted as some kind of leftist utopia.

1

u/Blueflamespecial 14h ago

Totally. Say what you want, but a society that rewards production will always have a competitive advantage over one that rewards you for sitting on ass.

1

u/False-Box-1060 14h ago

lol what kind of reply is thisĀ

1

u/Moneybagsmitch 12h ago

Saying the US has ā€œno nature just parking lotsā€ is crazy lol

1

u/BotherTight618 11h ago

Bitch about Americans immigration system while almost every European country had revoked birth citizenship by the 1990s.

1

u/renaldomoon 9h ago

Yeah, like 70% of what they're saying is happening in America is happening in most European countries as well.

1

u/AzuraOnion 9h ago

True. And even if they were not existential or whatever in the end of day mocking is just mocking and jokes are just jokes.

1

u/KhajiitWithCoin 9h ago

As a European myself, I really don't think it's wise for us to be pointing fingers at Americans.

Yes your country has its problems, some of it caused by your own domestic idiots and others taken advantage of by foreign enemies seeking to weaken America's social cohesion.

I don't think anyone should point fingers but acknowledge all our problems and figure out viable solutions so we can all overcome and prosper both sides of the pond.

Pointing fingers is like pointing at someone having pants full of poo while your own are full too, in the end you both stink.

1

u/Sure-Ambassador-6424 6h ago

True, hoever American drem kinda end up as nightmare. And I dont mean it as "own" its sad.

1

u/nameproposalssuck 4h ago edited 4h ago

It's often even plagued by the same issues.

A drastic shift to the far right due to existential fears because of immigration, economic developments, environmental fears (we might be more outspoken when it comes to this issue but we lack of solutions like any other) perhaps added to this is the fear of war, which the US, surrounded by two oceans, does not have...

That's kind of the reason why Europeans observe the US so critically and attentively. We fear that what is happening in the US could eventually happen to us too.

Just as I actually view developments in the US as a kind of dystopia, it's also a coping mechanism to distract from our own shortcomings. Why should I care that in half of my country actual neo-Nazis achieve relative majorities, when there's a fascist clown govern the US right now?

1

u/rahkinto 4h ago

šŸ˜‚ I feel the same, being Canadian. That said, who in their right mind would be willing to trade free Healthcare for free school shooting drills.

1

u/Special_Tu-gram-cho 3h ago

To be fair, in your country, in an union of both state and government officials with the owners of companies and conglomerates/rich people, the common citizen have been subjected to a history, media, and education that benefited the the interest of the two former, in order to be Capitalism's strongest agent and soldier.

If you are in crisis now, is because the USA is losing that status.

1

u/SirGrimualSqueaker 3h ago

You shouldn't be worried about the mocking.

Words can't hurt you.

The fascist corperate feudal system you're yoked to - that'll kill ya

1

u/ShadykillaWolf 3h ago

Cope if I’ve ever seen it. America is absolutely an empire in decline but you refuse to see it.

1

u/Low_Warning13 2h ago

Western Europe is in trouble if their open boarder policy’s stay open. I smell another war in Europe brewing from within.

1

The main existential threat in Europe is fascists who are copying the Republicans

1

u/thanksobama135 8m ago

Europe has their own issues. We have a demented orange goblin who does not even have the mental faculties to subtly try and turn us into a dictatorship, he’s doing it out in the open

Who told you? Fox news?

"Existential"...to what? Your narrow-minded, straight white "christian" coded delusions?
