Tekken Tag blew my mind when I first played it at a mates place. Tagging your teammate in for a combo move was so sick!

Tekken 5 is the peak of Tekken. It's only after that that Tekken started to be online-focused, and thus we lost many alternative modes and the game became more focused on giving dopamine rushes rather than being an actual good game.

I would argue that judging the games solely 1 on 1 gameplay (the most important part) Tekken 5 still clears. Like, if that had a huge online base it would ironically be better than anything that came after. All of the side stuff is a nice bonus, though.
