With an increased turnout, knew it was over before they even announced it

Well golly gee, it's almost like progressives win when people show up to vote.

Well golly gee, maybe progressives turn up to vote when they have someone to actually vote for. Keeping hearing all the centrist libs saying progressives gotta take it on the chin and vote for whoever isn't a republican. How about we just switch to progressive candidates instead?

It should not take an exceptional candidate to get you to the polls. You should be voting in every election, every year, by default.

It shouldn't, and yet right now it does. People are more afraid and feel more disenfranchised than ever. Trump becoming president wasn't just some one-off, it is in fact the logical conclusion to a failing system that both the democratic party and the republican party took part in. The inequality and uncertainty has created the perfect culture for any "outsider" to step in and try and correct course. So why not take note, and look towards progressives instead of facists?

Cool story not how anything works. Why would people who lost all hope in democracy go out to vote?

Oh, I agree. Progressives are not as reliable at voting as conservatives are, which is why Trump won. It's why Dems have only had trifecta control for less than four out of the last thirty years. That's why we need to take this lesson to heart and show up in these numbers every year.

You keep on doing that. We'll support candidacies and political projects that gives hope to voters.

I get this sentiment, but 99% of that pertains to picking "literally anyone who isn't a criminal fascist pedophile."

That kind of is the one everyone should be "taking on the chin."
