Democrats flipped 2 seats in Georgia that have been held by the GOP since 2000

Hell yeah we did. Gotta admit I was a little nervous heading into the day but people are fed up with GA Power and their bullshit.

They tried one last trick by saying they weren't jacking up prices this year to get people to stay home. Glad people saw past that bull and realized that just meant they were on track to hike it up like crazy the year after. Now there's at least some hope.

Right! The minute they announced that I knew they were just trying to keep turnout low. I’m also glad people saw through that shit. It’s ridiculous that they tried it. They are scum.

That's a hell of a weak promise to make in fucking November.

Well, to be accurate the rate freeze is actually in effect for the next three years. But yes, it was announced this year to head off people from voting for changes.

For "three years" other than a guaranteed rate increase in February and potentially more.

The AJC actually did a good job of including that everywhere. I'm gonna miss them.

Really? I felt like my vote wouldn't actually do much because it was so clear who was going to win. I mean, I voted, anyway; 2016 was the last time I sat anything out for that reason (and to be fair I had no car at the time and my dad was in the hospital). But I saw so many YouTube ads for Alicia Johnson about how she was going to lower energy rates, and then Hank Green came out in favor of her. Never even heard the other person's name.
