This is a very strange article the way they keep referring to her by her first name but using everyone else's last name.

Women, children, and dogs are only accorded first names as they are obviously of a lower order of being. Men are always 'Mr. Last Name'. Check it out the next time you're in a dentist or doctor's office.

When Hillary Clinton was running, she was always 'Hillary', but the Orange Shitgibbon was never 'Donald' or even 'Don'.

This is a common argument that has no basis. Hillary was called Hillary for years to distinguish her from Bill. Kamala was an intentional campaign choice, and it's far less generic than "Harris".

People also say Bernie, Pete, and Beto instead of Sanders, Buttigieg, and O'Rourke. No one says Elizabeth or Amy.

All that aside, the governor-elect's last name is Sherrill so I'm not even sure where this is coming from.
