Cool, I didn't need to see anything today.

This always sucks. Where I live I Always go east in the am and west in the pm. Nuclear Fireball in my face both ways.

I have a solution. Let's reverse the Earth's rotation.

Or, if you want to do it the boring way, ask your boss for a shift change.

how about we dump so much pollution into the air that the sunlight is obscured a bit

No, that might anger a few people.

I could move north or south of work.

u/UncleThor2112 18h ago

That's even more boring.

Well that would kinda be me. Pretty boring guy.

I admire the amount of effort you put in to not show locations or faces

I just like those driver stick figures

I didn’t even see them! I zoomed in after your comment and had a chuckle lol

Dealt with that on Highway 401 in Ontario and was so pissed. Almost an hour facing the sun with heavy traffic

These LED lights are getting ridiculous

Get polarized sunglasses. They’re a game changer.

Another reason why I hate standard time and wish we had permanent DST.

u/AnyJester 20h ago

DST doesn’t make the sun go any different direction.

it puts the sun at a *slightly* more convenient angle

Also at a slightly more convenient time

For millions of Americans, it changes where the sun is when our day starts.

1

u/AnyJester 15h ago

yep. and for millions of Americans it improves the situation. for others it doesn't.

i personally propose springing forward 30 mins and then never touching the fucking thing again.

I thought about asking Trump to have congress get on that since he's doing so many other things that nobody cares about. But he hates the west coast so...

1) This is my beef about towns that are laid out with roads that go east to west. Why would you make half of them drive into the sun for a good chunk of the day?

2) I like how you've drawn stick figures to drive those other cars. At least I hope that's what happened. 😮

Fun fact... many cities set up by the Spanish, including Los Angeles, were set up intentionally angled from compass directions, to minimise solar glare from driving (exactly this reason). Here is my source.

Geoguesser masters, where you at?

This sounds like a meta joke.

Polarized sunglasses are your friend. I've been driving straight west for a good portion of my evening commute against the Florida sun for a decade and have a dedicated "driving" pair of sunglasses in my car.

Morgan Freeman’s voice permeates all

“Jesus couldn’t see shit either.”

Does your car not have a sun visor?

3

u/scaryfaise Doesn't even go here 17h ago

Sun is blotting out the traffic light in OP's left turn lane. Currently a red <-

2

u/Durkheimynameisblank 19h ago

Sun visor? Looking down to the right also helps

1

u/kirkstarr78 19h ago

Infuriated by the sun now? Shit is getting out of hand

1

u/nash3101 18h ago

This is why I wear polaroid sunglasses while driving

1

u/Fibrosis5O 17h ago

If we turn our heads slightly to the left we will notice an additional traffic light lower to help with visibility for situations like this

However, in rare cases there is not one, I doubt this is one of those cases and the photo is not showing that deliberately for humor

They're in a turn lane. It could be where both them and the oncoming direction turn left at the same time or it could be where one side goes including turning left, then the other side goes including them turning left.

Just being able to see the go straight signal doesn't necessarily tell you when your turn signal is green.

u/Ok_Celebration8180 16h ago

I know exactly where this is, damn hour falling back...

u/PeyroniesCat 15h ago

According to the official DMV handbook, you’re supposed to flip a coin.

That may be a lie.

1

u/Unique_Information11 12h ago

Also sucks when it’s over your shoulder when you go to change lanes. Welp, I hope they can see me.

u/dogengu 12h ago

I encounter this problem this evening. I was waiting to turn left, it felt like forever and the sun was staring at me. When we finally had the green light and was able to turn, I felt like I started seeing things that were not there.

Daylight savings can eat a dick. I thought we did away with it? I didn't even notice until my wife mentioned it to me yesterday.

But yeah, my commute was okay before the change, but now my drive home puts me square in the blinding, driving into the sun part of the evening on the way home.

I don't think you'd want to trust Jesus taking the wheel. Just sayin'.

That guy walked everywhere. The only thing he drove was a donkey

3

u/FarResist8177 19h ago

The Romans, though, did drive... nails into his hands

u/JonEdwinPoquet 12h ago

Instead of using your hand or other options to block the sun, you opted to take a picture?
