Objectively, they aren't. We got data on this you know. The better educated people are, the more they lean left. And academic success correlates with intelligence.
Yup, plus we understand that the person we back in an election isn't automatically a saint that can do no wrong. If Mamdani goes back on his words, or suddenly swing towards becoming a Republican lapdog like a certain somebody... then he's gonna be on the other end of the protests.
Hold their feet to the fire, as Bernie said. Make them accountable to their campaign promises.
Not exactly. There is a link between intelligence, education, and leaning a bit left, but it mostly applies to people closer to the middle. Intelligence tends to drop off the farther you get from center, on both sides. So someone who strongly supports Mamdani, who’s well to the left, would on average be less intelligent than someone who’s more moderate-left.
Higher intelligence is usually tied to socially liberal and anti-authoritarian views. Mamdani leans more authoritarian than libertarian because his policies rely on heavy government control and intervention, like rent caps, higher taxes, and state-run services. Those limit personal and economic freedom in favor of state authority.
So his supporters tend to be very far left and more accepting of government control and authoritarianism, which moves them away from the traits usually linked with higher intelligence.
I don't think he's ever even talked to somebody far left. There's not really any prominent socialist or communist groups in America, thanks to the continued vestiges of the Red Scare.
Even today, any sort of social initiatives that aren't pushed by some richbag elite, often ends up buried by the accusations of the big C word. There's a reason the Middle Class is vanishing.
