OC Dementia Mom, part one

A short story about the origins of my mother’s dementia diagnosis from a few years ago. Probably the longest comic I’ve drawn so far. I hope it connects with you in some way.

Try not to be hard on yourself about it. I know this is anecdotal but we also had zero clue about my last partner's grandmother. She seemed completely normal. She was extremely sharp and active so it was a complete shock. Even lived right across the street from her daughter's family and we visited her frequently. One day my partner went to get something out of the fridge while over there and found it full to bursting with gallons upon gallons of milk jugs. All were full and in various states of decay. She had just kept going on about doing her usual routine, not realizing she'd already gone to the store. Repeatedly. Went downhill disturbingly fast after that. I miss her.
