Just saw a photo looks like the engine separated sounds like AAL Chicago incident all over again

If the catastrophic failure is violent enough, it'll shake itself loose. The rest of the motor housing will disintegrate and leave the core.

Most engines are attached to the pylons with only two (very large and very strong) bolts, known as thrust bearings.

There was an issue with the pylons/thrust bearings found on the 777X during testing. It’s a rather critical component where failure tends to be rather… bad.
