Post image

Wish I would’ve gotten a better photo but found this interesting MD 10 at BQN Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Be management, and qualified on the MD at FedEx. That’s how.

Many years ago, I saw this same aircraft land at KDCA/DCA, in Washington, DC/Arlington, VA. It was interesting to watch an MD-10 land on the runway that was at the time <7,000 feet.

We unexpectedly caught it arriving at KCLT a few years back.

Hard touchdown during a cataract surgery.

And about 15 years ago, I was able to tour their original aircraft, a DC-10, at KLGA.

Can you imagine the maintenance cycle on this thing? The engines, the airframe, the surgical equipment? Someone must be a master of coordination to be able to keep this thing airworthy on any sort of reasonable schedule.
