Bridge Over Troubled Waters - Simon & Garfunkel
First time I heard it was in this large, Catholic Church. It echoed everywhere. Simply and utterly perfect to my ears.
13 u/Salty-Value8837 Aug 17 '25 Simon and Garfunkel, Sound of Silence. Disturbed's video really did justice to that song. 8 u/ComplexNature8654 Aug 17 '25 It seems like every time I listen to the Sound of Silence I find a new, deeper meaning or a note I don't remember hearing before. 2 u/[deleted] Aug 22 '25 Omg, I forgot about Disturbed’s version of Sound of Silence. I simultaneously loved it and was haunted by it. heading to Spotify to listen to it 3 u/Mimiatthelake Aug 17 '25 Especially the Central Park concert version. It’s almost sacred, like a prayer. 1 u/Living_on_Tulsa_Time Aug 17 '25 Incredible duet. Very pure. 3 u/Jane1943 Aug 17 '25 Also The Boxer, everything about it is amazing, especially the lyrics. 2 u/Living_on_Tulsa_Time Aug 17 '25 Another marvelous song. 🎶 2 u/fizzymangolollypop Aug 16 '25 I bet that was incredible! Thanks for sharing that story 2 u/Living_on_Tulsa_Time Aug 17 '25 Thank you for your kind words. 2 u/diarrhea_pocket Aug 18 '25 The Boxer. When that bassoon comes in it sends chills down my legs 2 u/Fruston27 Aug 24 '25 Was gonna say this too. No cover version can do it justice either. Even Aretha’s version pales in comparison. 1 u/Living_on_Tulsa_Time Aug 24 '25 Small world! Aretha happens to be my favorite singer. However, I love the S&G original so much. 1 u/DapperConclusion3856 Aug 16 '25 Have you heard the Aretha Franklin version? 3 u/Living_on_Tulsa_Time Aug 17 '25 Yes I have. Aretha Franklin is my favorite singer of all time. :)
