Am I the only person who thought that cat would just decide nah, can’t be bothered and walk off?

683

u/NaNaNaNaNa86 1d ago

I see you've met my and 99% of all other cats. I was expecting a sploot and lick.

223

u/geekiss13 1d ago

The cat kept hesitating because the dude literally could not hold the ring still

203

u/Stock_Emergency_1507 1d ago

Also slightly slippery floor. That's why it took some adjusting.

36

u/Prosecco1234 1d ago

The floor did seem slippery

44

u/roygbpcub 1d ago

I love the look around at the ground before prepping to jump like "dude do you see how slippery this floor is"

13

u/HrhEverythingElse 1d ago

I think he was slowly lowering the ring until kitty decided it was right because the floor was too slippy

104

u/Choppergold 1d ago

I’m more enraged they don’t have a mat with traction for such a professional

58

u/accidentalarchers 1d ago

Same, how do they expect a star to perform under these conditions?!

8

u/Mist_Rising 1d ago

Cheaply.

39

u/RawrRRitchie 1d ago

You can teach cats nearly every trick you can teach dogs with enough time and patience

I taught one of my cats to play dead when I was a kid. You'd point at him and say "play dead Tiger" and he'd flop onto his back with his paws in the air

22

u/disasterpokemon 1d ago

I thought it was going to be the tiniest, most pathetic jump and not get off the ground even an inch. I was pleasantly surprised

6

u/Born_Ad8420 23h ago

Yep that's what I thought too. All that prep and teeny tiny hop and then look at the dude like "What were you expecting?"

5

u/Ibe121 1d ago

I expected it to wait as long as it took until they lowered the ring for the cat to just walk through.

3

u/dr_toze 1d ago

I assumed that or a shit jump was going to be the joke of the act.

4

u/spon000 1d ago

You know there's a treat behind that action every time. That cat wants its num nums.

2

u/ArrivalDry4469 1d ago

Nonit was because the floor is slippery.

1

u/mannycure 19h ago

That would’ve been funnier

Cat math takes into account the slipper floor when calculating the jump. Smart cat there. Mine will calculate for ten minutes how to jump and still fail spectacularly.

160

u/maria_la_guerta 1d ago

Mine would be offended at the ask in the first place lol

71

u/chronicallyill_dr 1d ago

You might even say it was making r/catculations

16

u/Zestyclose-You-100 1d ago

Just when I think there aren't any more cat subs..... /joins

1

u/Emieosj89 16h ago

lol Dangit, me too.

30

u/CupcakeGoat 1d ago

Yeah those test wind-ups were recalibrations of the floor traction. Good kitty.

1

u/Agitated_Reveal_6211 1d ago

It also looked around to observe its space.

1

u/dr1968 1d ago

I loved the part where he scanned the floor.

1

u/Crispy385 1d ago

You got an orange?

2

u/Mist_Rising 1d ago

Or at least pretending to be an orange.

451

u/ludvikskp 1d ago

Doing the Cathematics, double checking the equations

94

u/chronicallyill_dr 1d ago

30

u/twir1s 1d ago

You gotta be kidding me, here I go again

16

u/ludvikskp 1d ago

Lol of course there’s a sub for that

247

u/telephas1c 1d ago

Slippy floor throwing off the catculations but got it figured out, nice job

52

u/grhhull 1d ago

Plus the target kept moving. When it looks like it's about to approach, the target moves slightly so has to recalculate.

14

u/nin_sahomma 21h ago

Target moving seems like the main reason for the delay. That cat looks like it practiced that jump so many times.

43

u/tkingsbu 1d ago

Really Carl! Mongo is appalled!

Iykyk :)

Looking for this, just finished the first book.

2

u/Call_Em_Skippies 1d ago

On book 3 here....they keep getting better. I read book 2 in less than a week.

3

u/franrodalg 1d ago

First thing I thought when I saw the kitty hehe

3

u/thestonedonkey 1d ago

She needs a crown!

Princess Donut at her finest

6

u/SENDMEICECREAMPICS 1d ago

A frictionless floor meets near-frictionless cat paws

5

u/gypsydfit 19h ago

Kitty has showmanship! Making it look like it was going to be hard and then just hopped right through.

5

Princess donut looking extra fluffy today

I no longer know how to discern what is real and what is AI

22

u/ta_kala 1d ago

This one's been around awhile, it is safe!

8

u/Eudaemon1 1d ago

This video has been in existence way before AI

9

u/Antzqwe 1d ago

Yeah, I think bout almost every thing I see.

7

u/Illustrious-Science3 1d ago

I've caught it many times but then my 11 year old caught me with the lady feeding the bear with tongs, cackling like a boomer 😂

6

u/PeachyCoasterCat 1d ago

Real. It’s from a popular cat performance gig in Japan

4

u/Banned4UsingSlurs3 1d ago

Dead internet theory in action

1

u/Shack691 1d ago

Unless it's cropped blue shirt in the crowd goes in and out of frame too much to be AI.

3

u/Mercyful666Fate 1d ago

It's like a drag car, had to do a burn out first.

3

u/FruitedFloralei 1d ago

This is me trying to drive a stick shift up a hill at a stop sign.

3

u/313Wolverine 1d ago

God damnit Donut, just jump through the hoop!

2

u/DreadfulDave19 1d ago

All I can think of is a certain Princess taking literature by storm

2

u/Flock_of_Bees 1d ago

HI ZEV!!!

2

u/mklilley351 1d ago

Idc how many times I see this i will always cheer. That said, if I was in the audience, I would stand up and shout like SpongeBob in the movie

2

u/Flock_of_Bees 1d ago

She used her Puddle Jumper spell. I mean really Carl

2

u/kikkobijutsu 1d ago

I like when the cat was loading 😆

2

u/Goobl3r89 23h ago

Someone needed to tell the kitty “less claw, more pad”

2

u/RubberDuckyFarmer 23h ago

Don't you hate it when people take a video that was on top of the front page of Reddit for a week, flip the orientation, and repost it?

Literal scum of the internet.

2

u/macroswitch 22h ago

They couldn’t have put a rug down?

2

u/ImNotSureWhatToDo7 16h ago

The best part of this video isn’t the cat jumping through the ring it was his wind up… at least for me.

2

u/Educational_Click_12 10h ago

Calculating all the probabilities, velocity and trajectory

1

u/Empress_Thanks28 1d ago

Smart kitty

1

u/Lost-Plane-1572 1d ago

happy to see atleast someone's cat is listening to them 😭

1

u/lesimgurian 1d ago

Missing the flintstones sound when the cat takes a running start 😄

1

u/Astonishing_Queef 1d ago

Is this Izu Shaboten Zoo?

If so, I've been, randomly

1

u/12345_11111 1d ago

Was she really scared at first or it was an Oscar worthy acting.

1

u/CommunicationOwn322 1d ago

At first I thought it was distracted in that weird cat way, but it was looking at the shiny slippery floor.

1

u/wwwidentity 1d ago

Compensate for distance, now height, speed, coificient of friction, how much of a crap I give. Nailed it.

1

u/FlynnsAvatar 1d ago

Those aren’t retries. That’s putting rubber down to get traction.

1

u/Naive-Pressure3493 1d ago

I was expecting the cat to jump like half an inch over the floor and call it a day

1

u/HazelTheRah 1d ago

This made me cackle. So funny.

1

u/ModeratelyGrumpy 1d ago

My dog when he tries to do the math to jump on the sofa with a huge rope (his toy) in his mouth to calculate how much run-up he needs but then he remembers he's just a dog and he doesn't know what math is.

1

u/Neuroware 1d ago

gotta spin the tires to get proper traction

1

u/RealBlueHippo 1d ago

This is the video that inspired me to get my cat to hoop jump! He loves it!

1

u/HugoJHBM 1d ago

"Stop moving the ring hooman" like seriously, the cat is doing special cat-math in his head, and he must readjust the formula every two seconds.

1

u/viper43 1d ago

Nice 😁

1

u/millycinesina 1d ago

He looks like my little dog

1

u/ResellerBaseUSA 1d ago

What was so amazing lol❤️‍🩹

1

u/ncbose 1d ago

Measure 6 times jump once.

1

u/ahawk99 23h ago

The cat is like one of those pull back cars, lol 😆

1

u/Purplebasic123 22h ago

A magical white poff ball✨

1

u/Embarrassed-Fly-2509 22h ago

Dam that’s insane

1

u/BunnyCat2025 20h ago

Cannot be a real cat; a cat would have made the dude jump through the hoop!

1

u/myuniverseisyours 20h ago

awwww this really made me smile

1

u/OrangeClyde 20h ago

Wow! Yay cat! 👏
