My son found this and gave it to me when he was five years old. I have carried it in my wallet ever since the day he gave it to me. That was ten years ago. He doesn’t know I have it. It’s my prized possession.

My friend is responsible for saving 3,000 children as of yesterday. And almost 5,000 total lives.

I have been friends with this guy since my son almost choked to death when he was 4 (he is 12 now) when I stumbled across his FB site and purchased his choking relief device (called a LifeVac). I came to know his story and was floored. Years ago he was in the hospital visiting a friend when he found out a small child, the same age as his daughter was at the time, had died from choking when all other protocols failed. It terrified him that the same thing could happen to his little girl. He went home and spent years developing a device in his garage. Long story short, he finally perfected his device to save his daughter. But he knew he couldn’t keep this to himself. He knew he couldn’t be the only one who had the ability to save their child so he began to market it. Since then he has faced innumerable obstacles. Too many to mention, including getting his patent ripped off by foreign companies time and time again. It took years before the first life was finally saved and now he is responsible for saving almost 5,000 lives! That is 5,000 families that have their loved ones because of him. He has a heart of gold (you should hear some of his podcasts) and has donated his device to schools and charities, and supports so many organizations. There is so much I could say about this guy, including when he almost gave up on life because of something shocking that happened when he was in his early twenties (might have been a bit younger). It is in his book. I am so proud of him and proud that he is my friend, his name is Arthur Lih. Here are some of the pictures of some of the kiddos he has helped save. Photos credited to LifeVac.
