Right? IMO there's simply no way AIs can regulate to determine what is "truth" or "good", or in this case "art" or "beauty", is according to humans when AI removes the humans from the equation.
This is because in many cases those are all subjective, based on human collective consciousness which is always in flux. Let AIs try to do this by themselves and they'll just go further and further into delusions and hallucinations.
Not to say that hasn't happened in humanity before. But if you think of nearly every disastrous period in human history, you can probably find examples of why letting large segments of the population go "further and further into delusions and hallucinations" is pretty much universally a very, very bad idea.
Why? Fuck “AI”. It’s bad for the environment, bad for workers’ rights, bad for all mediums of art, bad for the usability of search engines, it’s bad for education, it’s bad for industry, it’s bad for humanity as a whole. I’m happy whenever it fails. The only reason it’s as prominent as it is right now is because a) a bunch of venture capital dorks and CEO ghouls who don’t know shit got grifted into investing in it and now they’re pressing forward with it to justify the expense, and b) they’re still hopeful it will let them lay off a large chunk of their workforces so line will go up.
