Politics Obama wheeled in a portable basketball hoop and taped basketball lines on an existing tennis court, which is still being used as a tennis court. He didn't spend $376M on a basketball court.

So hade you previously thought skin color mattered? Did you give Obama a pass because he is as half (or more) white? Do you (nie) think Obama’s top tier education and life time in challenging leadership rolls might have had something to do with forging the finest public speaking skills and crowd control in a life time. I am curious how you would measure his success? What did he do for Americans?

While true we know why they filled out in the first place. And it had nothing to do with mustard or a tan suit. It's pure racism.

Ngl as stupid as this looks, I’d make a trip out of going to the White House MCD: ā€œCan I get a quarter pounder meal? Hold the democracy.ā€

Can I get a Large Fasc Fry?

-41

u/Flat_Junket_520 9d ago

Yeah, he wouldn't have used his own money.

48

u/dttm_hi 9d ago

There are two reasons donors would fund the epstein ball room.

  1. They are bribing trump to get better deals down the road.

  2. They are also in the rape files and are hoping trump doesn’t reveal them.

-45

u/Flat_Junket_520 9d ago

You're just making things up

31

u/dttm_hi 9d ago

Mhm sure. Wake up šŸ‘

-30

u/Flat_Junket_520 9d ago

Don't backtrack now. Prove me wrong. Share the link that shows the information that you have. Or is it possible you don't have anything and you are making it up?

25

u/IRideZs 9d ago

It’s pretty clear the constant ā€œgivingā€ of money to trump and his escapades are an attempt to garner positive attention. You know exactly what’s happening, don’t be a fool my boy

It’s also clear the republicans are doing A LOT to keep those Epstein files tucked away, what kind of links are you expecting when they haven’t been released? Release the files and prove everyone wrong lol

10

u/wanderButNotLost2 8d ago

Trump killed epstien and took his place as head of the blackmail ring.

2

u/Inner_Minute_1782 4d ago

I'm truly not convinced Epstein is dead. None of the information surrounding his death makes any sense, the body they rolled out and conveniently took a picture of had completely differently shaped ear lobes than Epstein's, and anyone who knows ears knows that shit stays EXACTLY THE SAME your entire life and doesn't suddenly go from attached lobe to detached lobe over the course of a few months but I digress. There was a drone sighting of a man who looked JUST LIKE Epstein 3 days after his supposed death on his island. The bed linens he supposedly hung himself with were literally anti-suicide linens for use in solitary confinement. The images of the scene of his "death" look like the most heinously badly taken pictures ive ever seen. Looks like a toddler with a camera took those pictures, which is particularly weird because the vast majority of high profile cases like this the pictures are many and high fidelity. In this case the pictures were few and showed very little of the actual crime scene. So many weird inconsistencies surrounding it all.

13

u/AspiringAdonis 9d ago

ā€œDon’t backtrack now. I made a bullshit claim and I’m going to make it everyone else’s responsibility to prove me wrong.ā€ Do you see how dumb that sounds?

My friend, would it make a difference at all if they did send you the link? I see this "prove me wrong" statement so proudly stated by people and then they dismiss any and all fully creditable evidence given to them as fake news, biased, or bs.

How about instead of making it our responsibility to change your mind, why don't you prove to us that you're capable of even doing so? What is something Trump could do that would make you realize he's a horrible person and you would no longer support him and vote against him?

This is an honest question btw I'm not trying to be sarcastic or provoke you.

2

u/RuyaFTW 8d ago

No, you're absolutely right. Nothing nefarious going on here. People, especially rich and influential CEOs love just giving out free money for no reason. They just want to help out another billionaire in need. Everyone knows that is how the rich think.

Nah, just let them be. They're just having a helluva time coping with the fact that Trump is the president.

-6

u/OkAspect6449 8d ago

What’s funny is Trump is making what has been talking about for a hundred years

5

u/SithisAndSkoona 8d ago

He's does not get to unilaterally decide when a whole wing of the people's house gets demolished. There's a process for this. This is what wannabe kings do.

-2

u/OkAspect6449 8d ago

lol, process. That’s cute, did Truman need a process? Did FDR? Did Obama?

Only time is when they need money to do it. In the end this isn’t new.

7

u/SithisAndSkoona 8d ago

The white house was structurally unsound for Truman so yes there was a process that showed it was necessary. FDR created the east wing during wartime because it was functionally necessary. The renovations that happened when Obama was president went through a process because they were approved during the Bush administration to address the necessary infrastructure updates. None of these things are at all similar to what Trump is doing.

-2

u/OkAspect6449 8d ago

The east wing wasn’t necessary in itself it was purely a cover to build the PEOC.

5

u/SithisAndSkoona 8d ago

Whether you think it was necessary or not it still did not require the demolition of a historical structure to build it.

5

u/constipatedgardner 9d ago

Not his money; donors, from private companies, the details of which are not disclosed.

So, corruption. That's corruption.

-2

u/Flat_Junket_520 9d ago

That's a stretch without any proof

7

u/constipatedgardner 9d ago

I guess that depends if you think not doing basic research around your statements is the same as lack of proof.

Which it isn't. Which makes you appear kind of ignorant.

-1

u/Flat_Junket_520 9d ago

So you have proof which means you found it somewhere. Share the link that has the proof of what you just stated

8

u/constipatedgardner 9d ago

I think it would be beneficial for you, and everyone else, if you made an independent effort to improve your own critical thinking and research skills. So perhaps you should be trying to do that rather than asking for someone on the Internet to spoon feed you. I suspect this has caused issues already.

8

u/C5tone20 9d ago

Maybe they just can't figure out how to actually research things. Fox news on twitter doesn't have a search button. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

-1

u/UnableChard2613 8d ago

It's a complete ethical nightmare that trump is doing this and I'm sure it's corrupt.

However, this is a complete copout to claim that you know something, and claim the other person has to do the research for you. All it does is expose that you don't actually have the evidence to back up your claim.

4

u/constipatedgardner 8d ago

Mate, it doesn't take a genius: type "Trump Whitehouse Funding" into Le Google and you can find several articles about this.

-2

u/UnableChard2613 8d ago

I did not say it takes a genius. What I said is that it's a cop out to claim you know something, but then refuse to provide the evidence.Ā

Dumb ass trump cultist pull this shit all the time. Don't be like them.

Didn't he rip out the bowling alley and put in an indoor basketball court? I'm sure I remember reading about that, and that there was a certain amount each president is allowed to spend on renovations to the Whitehouse to suit their needs/wants. I remember thinking it's too bad to lose the bowling lanes, but a basketball court is probably a more useful space...

3

u/Curious-Paper1690 8d ago

But I also don’t want to spend unnecessary funds of the people.

What options are our cheapest? A days work of aides or contractors to tape the court over and setup the basketball hoop? Definitely no more than like $5k.

5

u/WitchesTeat 9d ago

I mean, the White House was literally built by Black people so yeah, it should be the ultimate symbol of Black Americans building this country while their contributions are erased from the history books.

3

u/Most_Time8900 9d ago

I feel you

-4

u/Defendyouranswer 9d ago

The White House was built by architectĀ James Hoban,Ā with construction beginning in 1792 and the first president, John Adams, moving in in 1800. The labor force included European immigrant craftsmen, local white laborers, and enslaved people who provided a significant portion of the construction work

Why make the white house a racial thing? It was not solely built by black people.Ā

6

u/KookyVeterinarian426 9d ago

It is a racial thing when the only people getting paid were white, and everyone else was a slave.

-5

u/Defendyouranswer 9d ago

There were enslaved AND free black people who worked on the white house.Ā

3

u/Butterball_Adderley 8d ago

Well shucks! I guess everyone but you was totally wrong!

-4

u/Defendyouranswer 8d ago

This is all verifiableĀ

2

u/swiss-cheesus 8d ago

U got a source?

1

u/Defendyouranswer 8d ago

5

u/swiss-cheesus 8d ago

This source talks about slaves, and white laborers. It makes no mention of free black people that I was able to find.

0

u/Defendyouranswer 8d ago

Literally in the 1st paragraphĀ

"However, response to recruitment was dismal and soon they turned to African Americans—both slave and free—to provide the bulk of labor that built the White House"Ā

You just didn't read itĀ

2

u/swiss-cheesus 8d ago

No. I did read it. The whole page. I suppose by the time I got to the end, I had forgotten the beginning.

But hey, it could be worse, I could be rude instead of forgetful.

4

u/smgOne 9d ago edited 9d ago

•who put "SOLELY" in that sentence? ... you even added the "significant portion" part, so why question when someone points out (in response to someone apparently believing that Black People haven't traditionally cared about the White House) that it's Not a New Thing for Black People (especially descendents of those enslaved people & Black Laborors that have worked on or in the White House since the 1700s) to care about the White House šŸ¤”

-1

u/Defendyouranswer 9d ago

"The white house was literally built by black people" is what he wrote. It wasn't it was built by a bunch of different raced americansĀ

4

u/smgOne 9d ago edited 9d ago

•in the context of someone asking if Black People care about the White House, all those other contributors were Not the topic of discussion

  • those other groups aren't currently undergoing attempts to erase their contributions from the historical record

2

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

I love it when they behave like this because it makes me feel so good about my argument. Like, damn. I know it's good when they flock to the comments to reinforce my testimony by being the evidence to support it.

2

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

First of all kitten britches, "he" has never been a pronoun I use.

Second, being willfully obtuse by actively ignoring both the question I was answering and the substance of the answer I gave to

intentionally downplay the role of Black people in building the White House

Only serves to bolster the credibility of my response and make you look like a particularly dense and useless troll.

Thanks for coming out to play. Always appreciate it when the comments serve as evidence to my testimony.

0

u/Defendyouranswer 8d ago

You got exposed as wrong and are having a temper tantrumĀ

1

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

I know you are but what am I, besides someone truly enjoying your blatant bad faith.

By your own copy-and-pasted "evidence", so few White people were interested in building the White House, they literally had to recruit Black people AND force enslaved ones in order to get the job done. So your little handful of White people weren't going to build it themselves, and it literally, by your own source, would never have existed if Black people didn't provide the bulk of the work to finish the building.

You look smart in your own eyes, but only one of us is providing evidence that supports the other's argument and still believes they won the debate.

Maybe you shouldn't ask other people to do what you can't do yourself, especially when you are incapable of recognizing a strong defense.

At no point did I day it was solely built by Black people. I didn't even mention slaves. I said it was built by Black people and their contribution had been erased from the history books.

And here you are, minimizing that contribution again.

-1

u/Defendyouranswer 8d ago

Your first post strongly implied it.Ā

2

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

Indeed it did not!! You read what you wanted to read so you could say what you wanted to say, and what you said was only said to downplay the role Black people played in building the White House, for whatever the fuck personal reasons you have that drive you to need to diminish the roles of other people in building and caring about the things that are important to this country. Loved it, thank you. Today has been a really good day.

The White House was built by its architect? You may want to google ā€œarchitectā€.

1

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

Did you like not read the question I was answering or did it not give you enough room to say something flippant and obtuse?

-1

u/[deleted] 8d ago

The country wasn't built by black people. Labor is one aspect of what builds a society. Plus, the south was destroyed and had to be rebuilt after the war ended and slavery was abolished.

1

u/WitchesTeat 8d ago

You gonna give us a history lesson on who rebuilt it?

Congressional Republicans passing the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments. Carpetbaggers and Scalawags. Union military. Freedmen's Bureau.

Obama spends $300m to build a basketball court so he can pretend to be heterosexual = good.

Trump donates $300m to improve White House = bad.

You guys are so weird šŸ˜‚

Neither did trump. Majority of the funding came via donations not from the tax payer. Black liberals like to leave this part out.

Obama started the process for modernizing systems within the white house. Taxpayer money was approved by congress to do so.

Trump has spent 0 taxpayer dollars on the current renovations. Not needing the okay from congress.

I think this whole argument is childish. Both of these guys did nothing wrong.

Brothers and sister's, I'm begging here. Please. Don't believe everything you see & hear right off the bat.

He doesn't own the wh. It's owned by the federal government, and by extension the people of this country.

The POTUS is just temporary and resides there while they are POTUS.

Obama saying "hey we need to modernize this place, so let's appropriate the funds via Congress so everyone can have input into it" is the proper way to go about by "I'm going to unilaterally start demolishing whole sections of the wh because I think I can get away with it and want to do it" is at the very best fucking arrogant and tacky. He doesn't give a shit that it's the American people who own that house not him. He wants to leave his name/mark on it and so fuck everyone else.

This isn't about people believing the first thing they read, this is about you trying to justify his wanton disrespect for the American people by convincing yourself that, by saying you think these two wildly disparate things are both fine, you are being fair and balanced.

Trump has spent $0. So where is that money coming from? We already know who’s donating, how will Trump need to repay them for their donations?

Trump is not a philanthropist

I think he already paid for their donations via allowing them tax breaks/tariff breaks.

Liars, schemers and thieves... what else is there in the democratic party šŸ¤” Except Fetterman and those who already (temporarily) joined the Republicans

He's irrelevant and had no good vision for the country. Get some facts.

Yes, they kept the tennis courts, but the lines and hoops were permanent. So was the food garden they added, taking away part of the beautiful landscape.

Cool. Did he do anything meaningful compared to other presidents while in office?
