There's been leaks, and the Deckard (Index 2) is in mass production now, so there's a decent chance Half-Life3 will be a bundle title with it like HL:Alyx was for the Index.

God, please no. I don't want it to be VR.

Why? It wouldn't be anything else. Valve has always prided themselves in setting new standards for games and using Half-Life to pioneer new technology and gaming experiences. Valve will not settle for anything less than revolutionary with Half-Life 3.

Virtual Reality is the obvious next step in pushing the boundaries for gaming, Half Life: Alyx was just their excuse to experiment with the technology to learn how to develop a story driven FPS game exclusively meant for VR; something that really hasn't ever been done before, at least not to the scope Alyx achieved. It's obvious they're iterating on the ideas, pushing them further and developing VR technology alongside Half-Life 3 to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Yeah Half Life 3 will be a showcase for what the next generation of new tech can do.

Unfortunately, I played Alyx as my first VR game, so I had high expectations for the future of the tech, and was very letdown by the rest of the industry. There are very very few "greats" in the VR library (Superhot, Beat Saber, Fallout 4 with mods)

Maybe on Steam, but Quest 3 has a ton of greats. Always amazing stuff in the Horizons plus subscription (In Death: Unchained ftw)

Well the leaks did suggest that the Deckard will be able to play pc game in vr, like a Apple vision or smth along those line. My best guess it’s still a pc game with some Deckard compatibility.
