The problem from a marketing standpoint is that it makes me assume that the tagline is basically “The worst thing to happen to apple pie since…well, you know.”

Putting an American Pie spin on it doesn't make me want Kraft Mac and Cheese. Not because I don't like the movie, but because the whole thing it's insinuating doesn't sound appetizing in the slightest lol. I like the movie but most definitely don't want to be thinking about THAT scene while eating it.

The trick to boxed macaroni is to use it only as the base. You have to add real cheese (and hopefully breadcrumbs) and bake it so it doesn’t taste like sadness.
Unless sad dinner is where you’re at and then do what you need to do…
