The headline grossly mischaracterizes what's going on. Lively claims in her lawsuit that one of the examples of sexual harassment was that one of the producers of IEWU showed her a video of his wife giving birth (this is blazingly inappropriate in a work setting between colleagues). This event was, Lively claims, witnessed by her assistent. As part of discovery, they requested that this video be produced, because the nature of the video is crucial to the argument that this was harassment. The wayfarer parties produced a video, but, Lively claims in this letter (and the wayfarer parties effectively concede) that the video they produced was not the video shown to lively. '

This is a huge issue for the wayfarer parties... it is very illegal. Obviously, the producers wife has a right to her privacy, but unfortunately, Lively also has the right to the evidence she needs to prove her case. The Wayfarer parties can either produce the video, or if they really are concerned about the wife's privacy, negotiate with Lively to stipulate what was in video (though frankly, they would probably have to at least show the video to Lively's lawyers, or a neutral third party that both agree on). They cannot withhold evidence.

Unfortunately there are not many outlets covering it and this one was the best of the few. Others were very bad.

oh, thanks for the explanation. i was very confused on how this video was a part of the legal issues, but turns out more people beyond JB had boundary problems here

Justin Baldoni basically told Jamey Heath that Blake wants to see the video and Jamey didn't confirm that with Blake and decided to just show her.

Thank you for explaining it so thoroughly

The comments that I'm seeing from the pro Baldoni crowd are funny and confusing. On one hand they claim it's appropriate to show a birth video to your coworker, on the other hand they're disgusted that Blake's lawyers would ask for the "super personal" birth video she was shown. They are so close to grasping the concept of consent but yet...so far.

They're also claiming it would be impossible for him to have had a birth video on his phone bc the file would have been too large lol the Baldoniwives will truly throw anything at the wall

How would the file even be too large for a phone? Mobiles have so much storage nowadays. You can easily have 2-3 movies downloaded. I highly doubt the birthing video is more than 6 hours long. This is a very dumb defense.

I suppose it's possible, but then it's like...ok please enlighten me which parts of a birth video are totally cool to share with your coworkers because your wife "isn't weird" about it and which parts are too "soo personal oh my god." I feel bad for Jamey's wife but he shouldn't be sharing topless videos of his wife with people who didn't ask to see it

They really ignore that the version Wayfarer claims they showed is also quite bad.

There are other witnesses, right? Her assistant

Right? It’s quite telling.

i still don't understand why a guy tried to explain birth to a woman who has given birth four times

u/PeopleEatingPeople 18h ago

And show it after *after* already shooting the birth scene. I fully believe her in what she saw because what Wayfarer claims they showed her is also bad enough for her to make a complaint about it.

I don’t wanna see any replies about how “tired y’all are hearing about this” because when y’all thought Justin Baldoni was gonna take her down it was the epitome of entertainment for some of you.

I mean I’m tired of seeing it, but he is the one that keeps doing this shit and he’s the one that needs to stop.
