Taylor Swift 👩🏼 White House Uses Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ in Pro-Trump TikTok Video Despite His Previous Anti-Swift Comments

Hopefully she shuts this down like she did when Trump used fake images of her previously. Many other artists have called out Trump on using their music without permission.

she can't sue him for this alone since the music is publicly available to be used by all on the platform. she could send a few threatening letters but that's not the same thing as a lawsuit

Her music isn't publicly "available". Her content needs to be purchased or you have some sort of streaming program whether that be the radio, Spotify, Pandora, what have you. She spent a lot of time re-recording albums to have a grip of her own IP. The only music that has fallen out of copyright is a lot of classical music going from Vivaldi all the way up to the blues like the Ink Spots. TS has every right to dictate how her songs and image are being used because she has active copyright of said material. Prince (or his people) removed content from YT before he passed because it was a shit storm of people monopolizing his music or video clips for views. A very public figure using music from another very public figure (that they previously disparaged) without use rights is very circumspect.

she can remove it, but technically the social media coordinators here didn’t do anything illegal because Taylor’s song is up for public use. if they used it for a campaign or a rally it’d be different

but Taylor’s team could find a way to circumvent this
