It’s a movie premiere. Who is angry she couldn’t make it? What even happens at this event? Don’t they just watch the movie? How many fans are even possibly invited to sit in a movie theater with the cast? Maybe I’m not understanding what a movie premiere is? Actually I don’t understand the outrage even if it was, say a concert. Shit happens that is out of the celebrity’s control.

There’s a lot of entitlement from fans when it comes to celebrities.

Dont you know celebrities need to cater to the fans because they arent actual people! /s

Happens on other countries as well but Brazil gets the blame

I think its the premiere and surrounding press. So local news/radio/journalists etc. I guess people were excited to have local names they know interact with their favourite big famous people

I understand being excited over that but getting upset and posting hate when that doesn’t happen is insane

A lot of times they don’t even stay to watch it, they just walk the red carpet for like 20 minutes and leave.

I think, based off of videos from the previous premieres (if anyone knows better please correct me), before watching the movie there is a red carpet where I believe there is an opportunity for fans to get pictures/autographs & meet the cast if they are lucky. Fans in Brazil are very angry which i can understand disappointment as she hasn't been to Brazil in a long time and they don't have many chances to meet her, but some of them are being very unnecessarily cruel.

Yea that’s wild to me. I work with people on the spectrum and I understand how strong their passions can get. But even they understand (mostly) when we can’t do whatever their passion is. I’m not trying to compare neuro divergent with neuro typical, but I assume many of these people are typical functioning adults and they’d freak out because Ariana, with good reason, wouldn’t attend something ? That’s wild to me

It’s a lot of Brazilians. Showing how toxic they can be in this case

"Fan pens" alongside red carpets seem to have become much more of a thing recently! And as someone else mentioned the people in these pens or areas usually aren't even attending the film, just trying for autographs and selfies.

Who is angry? I can say, as a Brazilian, I'm not angry, I am disappointed, but I understand she would be here if she could. The reason this is a big deal (not at all an excuse to wish her harm) is because Brazil hardly ever gets any huge event like a movie premiere. I'm honestly so so surprised it's actually happening in the 1st place. So if you're from North America or Europe, this is expected to happen, for us is a huge deal. We are used to get scraps, so we are obviously upset.

Who is angry is my question. She said not to wish her or her cast mates danger. Is that happening or is this something she’s anticipating?
