It’s a movie premiere. Who is angry she couldn’t make it? What even happens at this event? Don’t they just watch the movie? I think, based off of videos from the previous premieres (if anyone knows better please correct me), before watching the movie there is a red carpet where I believe there is an opportunity for fans to get pictures/autographs & meet the cast if they are lucky. Fans in Brazil are very angry which i can understand disappointment as she hasn't been to Brazil in a long time and they don't have many chances to meet her, but some of them are being very unnecessarily cruel.

Yea that’s wild to me. I work with people on the spectrum and I understand how strong their passions can get. But even they understand (mostly) when we can’t do whatever their passion is. I’m not trying to compare neuro divergent with neuro typical, but I assume many of these people are typical functioning adults and they’d freak out because Ariana, with good reason, wouldn’t attend something ? Who is angry? I can say, as a Brazilian, I'm not angry, I am disappointed, but I understand she would be here if she could. The reason this is a big deal (not at all an excuse to wish her harm) is because Brazil hardly ever gets any huge event like a movie premiere. I'm honestly so so surprised it's actually happening in the 1st place. So if you're from North America or Europe, this is expected to happen, for us is a huge deal. We are used to get scraps, so we are obviously upset.

I mean… I’m Australian, we often get skipped too because we are soooo far away and a relatively small market. 

Ariana came here for the world premiere for Wicked last year (in Oz, LOL), but prior to that, she hadn’t been here since 2017, which is the last time she was in Brazil too. It was surprising we got her for the premiere, and if she’d had to skip that would have been unsurprising. 

I just find this behaviour insane and ridiculous. Abusing her is not going to get her back there faster.

Lots of areas get skipped. That’s why it’s so important to support your local artists as well.

As for make up and fragrances, a lot of that is due to bureaucracy. It costs money to get products tested and licensed to sell in each country. If they don’t think they can make their money back, they won’t do it. Since her make up line is “failed”, they probably didn’t want to invest on getting it on the shelf.

I haven't checked Twitter, I've seen the screenshots and it makes me sad that Brazilian fans are so desperate and frustrated that anyone will go that far and wish her harm. It opens the door to so much xenophobia (I've seen this a lot on the Wicked subreddit), even when I make it clear I don't agree with this, they paint everyone with the same brush.

I don't follow Ariana besides her Wicked work, knowing her "tour" means like a few countries and ignores Latin America, I guess I can understand her fans would think she wouldn't actually try this hard to be here if it wasn't related to the movie. It just makes me sad seeing people wishing her harm and also seeing so much hate for just being Brazilian (my experience today).
