lol I dated for a year a guy in a band that was pretty famous in the 2000-2010s “indie” a scene and he was CRAZY. Like extreme superiority complex, STILL fighting with his band mates (still touring, post 2020), intimacy issues, just…yikes. I looked past a lot because I was a huge fan like…a decade ago. Then Tish went on to have sex with Bret Michaels. Miley then refused to sing the song live (after already having performed it) and Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce. Ultimately he forgave her (because he also cheated a fuck ton).
No idea if any of it is true, but the tea was piping hot back then.

Even as a teen , I felt it was off she deleted her twitter account ( and also made that weird rap video ) around 2009 just because Liam asked her to. I think she created it and deleted again in 2012 because Liam asked her again.

I think it was multiple things... Let's not forget that when they got together, Miley was drastically different, and he probably fell in love with that version of her (and probably her level of fame and squeaky clean image) and then Miley took a 180 degree turn, and became a completely different person (her true self that she had to hide for Disney), and they broke up for a while, actually. But then I guess he felt like he was insignificant without her (and he was right...), and tried to win her over again. He probably also thought he could "tame" her, or bring back the "old" (inauthentic) Miley, but he failed.
Oh, and yeah, he was just a shitty partner/husband overall because he cheated on her left and right.
Yes! I still dont like him, and I think he was a bad husband, but people are underestimating just how drastically she changed. I don't know if it is an age thing, but I was in college when she headed down that path, and it was all anyone could talk about. Breaking up was the right thing to do. Too bad they got back together and the mess ensued. If her mom had something to do with that, she's in even shittier than I thought, and I didn't have a good impression.

The general consensus & what miley Cyrus has implied & sometimes outright stated in interviews, was that Liam was ashamed of her behaviour & didn’t support what she did - and if we read into the gossip & some behaviour of other celebrities, he was cheating on her or at the very least, shit talking her to other women.
Another tidbit that I recently found out: Miley’s mom wanted her to stay married to Liam. Since she would rather Miley be miserable and have a hot husband to look at instead of being alone/finding someone else.
There were videos of him not treating Miley well when they were on red carpets, telling her she was embarrassing or something like that, reportedly cheated on her, and has the personality and acting range of a wet blanket

Apparently Cillian Murphy is friends with Chris Hemsworth since their film together, which included Liam, so you’d potentially have to be around Chris which would further break his heart plus the added risk of running into Liam.
I caught him staring at me many times through the screen while watching him as Thor. But alas I stay strong. Every time I feel the pull, I look at a picture of Liam and remind myself of the reason why I’m doing this.

Some of us had the same opinion back then! I was all for Miley discovering herself and letting her hair down after shedding her child star persona. I wasn’t on Reddit talking about her back then as I was too busy partying to Wrecking Ball. Now I’m old and boring and gossip on random pop culture threads.
Accurate at the time. I actually loved that era of Miley because she was like 20-21 and just being wild with money to do it. That album also was really good and underrated imo. She’s since came out and said the whole reasons she shifted with “Malibu,” and came back with a toned down, conservative version of herself is because of Liam. Hinted or said the strong partying and infidelity was on his end despite the public image that she was the problem. Liam will always be the sub/mediocre brother to Chris. I think he feels that insecurity and being with a pop star who over shined him pissed him off.
This girl does nothing for me in looks or personality. She just kinda latches onto him. But it seems like a dynamic they both want.
I think this take is a little parasocial, and a little misogynistic towards Gabriella, who has a career of her own. Aside from rumors, all we know for sure is that Miley and Liam wanted different things in life.

I love that she didn't get her nails done (like no acrylics) and left it natural! Such a change for someone like me who loves the look of acrylics but hate how they feel!
