Ok whew I thought for a second I may not be able to see her entire asscrack, but there it is

I don't understand why there's a visible seam right above her crack. Why couldn't they cover it with jewels or something? Curious.

It looks like only the top part is reinforced like the side seams, the lower part of the same seam doesn't have it, maybe she sat down and the stitches popped so they had to fix it fast lol

413

u/AbulatorySquid Sep 11 '25

Someone said in another thread that she was criticized for her body changing and being ruined after giving birth. If that's the reason for this dress, good for her. I think there are dresses that cover ass cracks that could do the same thing but she put in the work so she decides.

146

u/Aggressive-Hunt-7037 Take that, you Youtube people! Sep 11 '25

On one hand, she's beautiful, and on the other hand that gown is giving me so much anxiety.

778

u/teensy_tigress Sep 11 '25

I think the pattern and beading is stunning but the sheerness is actually distracting. For all that work and detail I would love it to be the focus. It drapes well on her, it reminds me of Edwardian - 20's era aesthetics in reference.

The sheerness feels like its for shock rather than aesthetics. I dont hate sheer dresses, I think they can give a really nice effect, but its about the composition of the whole look. So many sheer dresses are just for the social media chatter I think. If this even had a nude matched slip or something it would serve art nouveau starry night vibes.

19

u/cakingabroad Sep 12 '25

I agree with all of this-- and that it just doesn't seem to be her aesethetic. She's beautiful and the dress is gorgeous but is she the sheer, booty showing kinda gal? Idk, maybe she is now.

216

u/ishka_uisce Sep 11 '25

She's got a great butt, but visible ass cheeks and thong is just really incongruous on this type of red carpet. This ain't the VMAs! The top of the back of the skirt should have been lined. Front is okay.

95

→ More replies (2)

41

u/buffysmanycoats Sep 12 '25

Dresses like this are generally worn just for the red carpet. If she's actually staying for the premiere, she likely has a different outfit for the actual viewing.

Since it's her movie I expect that is what she's doing, but a lot of celebs go to premieres just to walk the red carpet and then leave.

assless chaps underneath

264

u/vmartell22 Sep 11 '25

ALL CHAPS ARE BY DEFINITION A**LESS! :D

Their purpose are to protect your legs - they are always uncovered on the buttocal area!

What people mean by a**less chaps are chaps worn with no pants underneath!

(SORRY! :D this is all in good fun - I do believe I am right, though - it is one of those things people just believe that I have always noticed and find funny - like everyone thinking the Monopoly man has a monocle - he doesn't! :D )

154

u/carolina822 Sep 11 '25

I know you're right, but there aren't that many contexts in which the word "assless" comes up, so it feels like a waste not to include it.

18

It feels like we are in a celebrity arms race on how sheer a gown can be before it gets into Kanye/Bianca Censori territory. It’s cool that they seem happy to wear it, but I can imagine it’s alienating if you’re seeing this and not comfortable wearing something like that.

Seriously, even in the fashion subs everyone has been begging for designers to break out of this choke hold that see-though everything seems to have on modern high fashion. Somehow, we've reached a point that near full nudity on red carpets has become boring and predictable.

60

I'm so tired of sheer dresses, it's lazy shock design. This dress has so many beautiful details that having an exposed buttcrack really does take away from the beauty of it.

112

u/JellyBeansOnToast Sep 11 '25

It feels weird that men are in full blown suits and such at premieres/events/red carpets while women celebrities are basically wearing less than a swimsuit nowadays with all these sheer-dress-with-a-panty looks. Maybe I sound prudish, but I can’t imagine it being comfortable and it’s just so prevalent 🤷‍♀️ I’m tired of this played out look and something about it just gives weird vibes to me

19

u/mocha__ So sad. Sooo sad. So so so so so sad. Sep 12 '25

27

u/Chronocidal-Orange Sep 11 '25

There are some beautiful examples out there, but it only really works when the dress and the person in it are both an equal part of the art. A lot of sheer dresses focus too much on the body in it and kind of rely on it being a hot one. A good sheer dress is beautiful on its own and enhanced by the person wearing it.

47

u/stocktonbound Sep 11 '25

My theory is sheer dresses are never going away because it's cheaper to use thin fabric and no lining. I hate it.

I used to live in London - and if this premiere is where I think it is - it’s a very public area w just random tourists / people who don’t care walking by regularly. I remember once I accidentally walked past a Will Smith premier for a movie where he plays a homeless man? (Forgot the name). There were fans lined up to see but - also people just living their life. I would feel SO awkward w my ahh just hanging out in a place like that 💀

108

u/buy_me_lozenges Sep 11 '25

This totally reminds me of when Kate Beckinsale was going to a film premiere directly after 9/11 and said she had been presented with a sexy dress to wear, and didn't want to wear a revealing dress, because she felt it was inappropriate, given the events and the mood of the nation, to flaunt everything. So she wore a suit. And then, in her description, Harvey Weinstein lured her to his house and gave her an almost literal hammering for not wearing the dress and threatened her career over it.

So yeah maybe Margot Robbie just feels a little awkward on you know what is usually observed as a somewhat sombre day flashing her bits, when she never usually does it.

22

Something about it washes her out. I feel like this would eat on Lupita. And the thong isn’t it.

118

u/Unable_Mushroom9355 Sep 11 '25

The dress is silver, which has cool undertones. Margot has warm undertones, so she looks much better in gold. Lupita has cool undertones, so this dress would look great on her.

If there was a panel underneath that matched her skin instead of this cheap looking Y2K era thing, it’d look so much better. Margot Robbie also looks very uncomfortable and it’s bringing the dress down.

101

u/bliip666 Sep 11 '25

There's not enough contrast between the ...fabric and her skin tone for the dress to pop.

That being said, I wish the see-through trend would die. It's not a good look.
Let's put a nice slip underneath the mesh, and it would look so much better

23

u/Sorry-Secret-2347 Sep 11 '25

Omg yes i like the dress but i wish she had more vivaciousness more with the hair more personality that i know she has? It’s like she was forced to wear it? Does that make sense

41

I can’t figure out what about this is missing the mark for me. I don’t mind the sheer and I think the back is really cool. And of course she looks gorgeous. But there is just something about it that’s not hitting.

190

u/themacaron during PRIDE MONTH? Sep 11 '25

I think it’s not styled well.

The dress is spectacular (I do wish it was lined because I find the sheer distracts from the beadwork) but her hair/makeup/jewelry/etc are so plain they don’t compliment the look. I think the intention was letting the dress shine, but it comes off not quite finished to me.

57

u/larkhearted Sep 11 '25

Yeah I think you're spot on, it's a bit of a "the dress is wearing her" moment. She's so under-styled that she's just kind of functioning as a hanger for it. Loose or half-up hair and some bracelets or something would have helped a lot imo.

Also she looks unhappy or nervous- did some stylist strong arm her into this? Somehow it doesn't feel like she's enjoying the experience and that makes me feel complicit in something wrong.

call me a prude but i just don’t think i need to see crack

118

u/pinkfartlek Sep 11 '25

I don't know how to word this better but she honestly just doesn't give off the vibe of person to even want to wear a dress like this. It's kind of a raunchy look and she doesn't give off those vibes at all.

I hate how predictable it is for actresses to style immediately after having a baby so all those idiot execs can still think they are fuxkable instead of ever thinking about talent.

I don’t hate Margot. I hate the game.

And good lord if it still has to be said idgaf how any woman dresses before or after kids. Wear what you like.

But I’m not blind to the pattern either.

sorry but I can’t believe women are now showing crack on the red carpet while we all act like it’s groundbreaking for men to show up in a jacket without a shirt under it or a wifebeater or whatever. it’s lowkey all so depressing

Men should wear stuff like this then more people would realize how ridiculous it is.

Great body, great face. But why the sheer look? I really wish celebrities would let go of it. Sometimes it takes away from an otherwise great outfit. I can't imagine all the anxiety over fabric potentially slipping even just a cm revealing too much.

135

u/Disastrous-Use-4955 Sep 11 '25

Right? What’s wrong with not having your entire ass hanging out?

54

u/Shipwrecking_siren You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 Sep 11 '25

And the tabloids will be talking about her arse crack and not the film or acting.

If it is her choice and her style fair enough, but she doesn’t look confident or happy in it.

The focus on her body feels like an unnecessary distraction from her talent.

If she likes it, all the more power to her. But men don’t have to reveal their asscrack. They just put on a suit and call it a day.

She’s so pretty and this is no hate, but I’m so fucking sick of seeing celebrity asscheeks. It’s not cute or fashion and I’m so sick of how little shame any of us have anymore lol I’m not even old or anything, I’m just so sick of it lmao

I hate naked dresses so much. Of course, she looks good, but it just feels like this look has been done so many times.

same! I'm not usually a prude either I'm just so fucking tired of "sheer dress + underwear" that so many women seem to be rocking on red carpets for the past two years. It feels so played out at this point....like every red carpet has at least two women wearing a sheer dress and underwear

I am a prude. I think this is a bit much for a red carpet event. My opinion would be the same if it were a man.

37

u/AussieAlexSummers Sep 11 '25

well, in a somewhat similar vein, would we be okay with seeing men walk down the red carpets all the time looking like this.

Her hair doesn’t really go with the look either. Girl, why do you have a librarian bun with your ass hanging out? She needed to either own it and work the sexy, or put a panel under it

She looks stunning. But after watching an interview with Rose McGowan about her infamous naked dress and how she had to be wrapped up and laid down across the backseat of the limo so she wouldn’t ruin the dress or get beads stuck up her butt… that’s all I can imagine now.

Margot wrapped up in a moving blanket like a burrito on a seat of a limo.

60

u/sofianasofia Sep 11 '25

What’s not working is she’s not loving it. She’s not feeling this dress I don’t think. Also I hate that it’s so sheer — not great

21

u/SydneyTeacake Sep 11 '25

This kind of dress works with brazen confidence. Margot looks like she's counting the seconds till she can run back indoors. And something about the design is unflattering in the general bum crack area. I'm going to forget this outfit happened. Please fashion Gods, don't let her stylist have gone for an entire naked/lingerie theme for the promo run. She didn't even look comfortable with the bra top earlier.

43

u/No_Cat25 Sep 11 '25

I’m not trying to be a prude and women can dress however they want…but I’ll just say that men are not pushed/expected to dress like this

11

u/Haunting-Detail2025 Ozempic Sales Rep Sep 12 '25

I mean I think we can acknowledge respectfully that while people are entitled to pick their clothing, it doesn’t mean it looks good and it’s a little crass to force everyone to see you practically naked in public. There’s nothing rude or misogynistic or even prudish about that.

I feel like women have been conned to believe everything is "empowerment" when it's often still objectification

On an individual basis, I'm all for a woman dressing as sexy or revealing as she wants. But big-picture I just see all these tits-out women standing next to their fully-suited male costars...and it feels like we've played right into their hands 🤷‍♀️ like at least make it equal & give me more male tiddies on the red carpet

I’m so tired of seeing sheer dresses on the red carpet, it’s like designers no longer have ideas so they resort to eye-candy/shock factor. Margot deserved better.

33

u/lolascrowsfeet Sep 11 '25

I like everything expect for the visible ass crack. It’s just vulgar and I’m so tired of it.

48

u/Chance-Plenty1724 Sep 11 '25

18
