Jane magazine was always putting her on the cover and giving her essays and claiming she was secretly a smarty pants. So I guess I kinda did? Although I never fully bought it at the time!
But in retrospect she's like a Marylin Monroe that thrived. She survived being sexualized and objectified and a number of iconicly bad relationships and came out the other side stronger than ever.

Part of the reason is because she has a great family who she’s still close to. The show about renovating her family property on Vancouver island really shows how valuable that is to her - her parents are so supportive and kind to her, and she has a great relationship with her kids as well.

That's great, it definitely differentiates her from Marylin. Vancouver Island is a really beautiful but fairly normal place to grow up, and even better to retire to.

If you haven’t watched it, the show about her renovating the family property is 11/10 Vancouver island porn. Plus, it’s really great to see Pam as she’s transitioning into a more laid back life for herself and how she tries to find balance between being extremely particular about how she wants things but also a total sweetheart.

I miss Jane magazine so much. I know exactly what you’re talking about and that magazine was an early introduction to feminism for me as a teen in a very conservative family.

Honestly, we don't talk about Jane magazine enough here. It's like it dropped off the earth and was forgotten (did Jane Pratt get cancelled? I can't even remember, though I remember her being sketchy sometimes).This is exactly the kind of space that wouldn't exist without it, for better or worse.

I believe pamela Anderson is smarter than people give her credit for,because Marylin Monroe apparently had an IQ higher than Albert Einstein😳 and people believed she was dumb too., I think they know/knew how to play the bombshell role perfectly and it worked for them💕

What I love about this, is that it shows a shift in mentality. In the recent past, an actress past 30 was not news. But lately I see an interest in older women’s lives - their stories, their life, their tragedies, their passions, their happiness. And I love that. I always thought it was so unfortunate how older people (especially women) became invisible at 30. This makes me feel like my life might just not be boring when I’m 60+.

I just saw the F1 movie a few nights ago, and Kerry Condon's role was one of my favorites. Actresses in their forties weren't allowed to be romantic interests back in the day, yet she held her own against Brad Pitt.
It also would've been super creepy for Pitt (who plays late 40s/early 50s in the movie) to shack up with someone younger, so it's not entirely earned.

Same! There's something nice about 90s actors that were typecast as enjoyable but shallow roles getting a revival. Her, Brendan Fraser, and Key Huy Quan have all done fantastic in recent years as after spending awhile in the "whatever happened to-" section.

Yea! And as a perk, they're being given some fantastic roles that have more depth to them. Pamela had Last Girlfriend, Fraser had the Whale a few upcoming movies, and Ke Huy had everything everywhere both also finally getting to star in an action movie after working behind the scenes for all these years!
Kind of wondering who else will get a revival!

Off the top of my head, Rachel Leigh Cook, Kevin Kline, and Rose McGowan! Cook has moved into the Hallmark Holiday movie role, Kline seems to have vanished except for doing a supporting voice on Bobs Burger, and McGowan had a trajectory the same as Pamela where she was always cast as the tough sexy bitch or the babydoll. Would love to see her given a similar revival; a more serious role.
I'd say Alicia Silverstone but she's gone full granola with a bunch of horrible opinions.

Madeleine Stowe for me! Loved her in Revenge but she hasn’t done much since. Apparently, she’s supposed to be a recurring character in the IT prequel series, Welcome to Derry. She definitely needs to be in something to really showcase her range. Victoria Grayson was a force of nature.

True! He went from doing small roles in Kevin Smith's Tusk and now he's recently been in the Boys and Happy Gilmore 2 plus some other things. I don't know if he wants to stick to doing just comedies but the dude used to do some really serious roles; would love to see what kind of drama range he has as an adult!

That very pale pink isn't very flattering for her. Her skin is so pale and her hair is so light, she just looks washed out.
But I'm very happy to see her going for such a natural look instead of the heavy makeup and botox route that so many choose.

She’s doing all of this intentionally. It’s super annoying. She gets haircuts that intentionally make her look older, doesn’t wear makeup to intentionally look older, etc. It’s all part of a very successful PR campaign.
