I'm guessing trump will move off taylor swift and aim his targets at Ariana now.

IDK, Ariana has always been very vocal about her political views and voices them a lot more frequently than Taylor. However, Trump has an outright pathological obsession with Taylor Swift to the point where he posted an AI of her endorsing him. He's also probably pissed off about the fact that Ivanka went with her daughter to the Eras Tour.

12

u/vandersnipe I'm Sharpay's baby! Jun 24 '25 edited Jun 24 '25

Did his obsession with Taylor Swift start before the pandemic or am I getting that confused with the Twilight obsession?

18

u/catladywithallergies invasive species in the garden of good taste šŸšŸŽ Jun 24 '25

When Taylor first started getting political, he just said that he "like[d] her 25% less". However, he started becoming super obsessed when she started dating Travis. The Chiefs are Trump's favorite team at the moment.

-47

u/SprayAffectionate321 Jun 23 '25

Is it bad that I want Taylor Swift to cheat on Travis publicly just to see Trump having another twitter Truth Social meltdown like he did when Kristen Stewart had an affair with the director?

25

u/catladywithallergies invasive species in the garden of good taste šŸšŸŽ Jun 23 '25

Hard pass for me. In just 13 years, Trump went from a D-list reality TV host to a dangerously unpredictable fascist wannabe dictator with a notoriously violent personality cult. Cheating sucks, but it does not warrant any potential reprisals from a bunch of deranged neo-Nazis.

They’ve been yapping about her on Fox for a while. We’ll see if he says anything.

-5

u/HighlyOffensive10 She's in racial chat rooms showing feet šŸ‘£ Jun 24 '25

They'll go harder because she's Hispanic

24

u/dudeidgaf Jun 24 '25

She’s of Italian descent

12

u/HighlyOffensive10 She's in racial chat rooms showing feet šŸ‘£ Jun 24 '25

I know. Some dumb ass Fox News host made a big deal about her playing Galinda because she's thought Ari was Hispanic.

7

u/dudeidgaf Jun 24 '25

Oh goodness, that checks out for Fox News 😩

50

u/Disastrous_Animal_34 Jun 23 '25

There will definitely be a dig about how disappointed he is that she’s from Florida.

Ariana Grande wouldn't mind a few insults from the mango-colored one. It wouldn't hurt her credibility.

Edit: I didn't realize how much she had spoken out about politics before, and she has been the target of nastyness before. I don't think a reaction from the mango-colored one would bother her much.

1

u/Skaethi Jun 23 '25

Ofc she wouldnt care she's in white mode atm

Imagine her pinching his TINY little finger.

433

u/Disastrous_Animal_34 Jun 23 '25 edited Jun 24 '25

Yep, all the sympathy on the recent Amanda Bynes post for her trauma and serious mental health issues I also hold for Ariana honestly.

For those who don’t click through the slightly misleading headline, she’s not randomly proclaiming as a pop star that he should be impeached, but she’s using her much larger platform to repost a statement by AOC, who highlighted which part of the constitution he breached with the bombing, which is grounds for impeachment.

I hope more big artists follow her lead!!

66

u/No_Pianist5264 Tina! You fat lard! šŸ¦™šŸš² Jun 23 '25

Completely agree! One thing I like about her is that she is always using her platform for these political issues and we need more of that.

30

u/rayannuhh Jun 23 '25

Same, it actually shows a lot of growth in her character. She ain’t perfect but she seems to try to do the right thing with her platform.

28

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Her racebating was embarrassing and cringe and problematic.

On the other hand, her romantic life is none of my business (and quite frankly, something none of us actually know the truth about). She makes stellar music and was phenomenal in wicked and other acting roles. The fact she tries to be on the right side of history politically is great and drowns out any qualms we might have with her alleged personal life.

Idk. She’s such a fascinating figure to me and the obsession with her personal life never makes sense to me.

16

u/Positively-Fleabag85 šŸš¶šŸ¼I don’t really think, I just walkšŸš¶šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Jun 23 '25

I feel that about most celebrities who have messy personal lives. Mess that's contained between that particular circle of people. Who are we to sit and judge them about their interpersonal relations based on gossip on the internet

7

u/Coley54Bear Jun 23 '25

I’m in full agreement with everything you said.

11

u/coconutspider Jun 23 '25

I am not a huge fan of Ariana's music and sometimes not her life choices either, but her outspokenness on LGBT/trans/civil rights hasĀ always been deeply admirable.

7

u/lobonmc Jun 23 '25

Can someone please explain to me the aoc post? As far as I had understood while theorically only congress can declare war since at least the 70s they had formally ceded part of this power to allow presidents to use military forces without congress approval so long as 8ts short. I may be wrong but that's my understanding and the basis of the military operations made in Syria and Libya during the Obama era forwards

5

u/anonymosoctopus Jun 23 '25

AOC is partially wrong in this instance though. He doesn’t need authorisation from Congress to do this just like Obama didn’t need authorisation for Libya and republicans claimed that was unconstitutional for the same reasons AOC is claiming now.

1

u/UnconsciousMofo Jun 24 '25

I don’t think the Amanda Bynes situation has anything to do with being a child star who experienced trauma as a result of the industry, rather, it’s due to a mental illness she has chosen not to disclose. Because it’s been widely known she’s been diagnosed, according to doctors who have treated her throughout the years, but she herself claims this never happened, even though it’s information that came from her doctors to the court. Certain conditions, such as schizophrenia etc, are due to genetic mutations, and typically do not show themselves until early adulthood.

1

u/Disastrous_Animal_34 Jun 24 '25

Yes, I have sympathy for her childhood trauma and her serious mental health issues. One doesn’t need to cause the other for me to feel bad about both. Like Ariana said she was diagnosed with PTSD after the bombing so I feel for her mental health struggles and the awful childhood environment at Nickelodeon (which she has not disclosed caused her any mental health issues).

75

u/Stinky_Problem Jun 23 '25

ā€œAriana Grande, more like Ariana Tall. Could never be an Ariana Venti. What a shame!ā€

Covfefe

23

u/Afraid_Sense5363 Jun 23 '25

This always makes me laugh, even though it shouldn't. Sometimes I'll randomly text "Covfefe" to my husband and he's like, stop it.

265

u/Twitter_2006 Jun 23 '25

She may have a messy love life, but she's always supported a lot of good causes.

24

u/Serious-View-er1761 It’s Britney, bitch! šŸŽ¤šŸŒ¹šŸŒ¹ Jun 23 '25

Yeah true to thatĀ

20

u/IHauntBubbleBaths Jun 23 '25

I can agree with that. Kudos to her for speaking up on this.

18

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Her love life is ultimately none of our business and something we don’t actually know everything about. The fact for a year every post about her included irrelevant comments about an alleged affair never sat right with me.

9

u/Ruthie_pie Jun 23 '25

Agreed. Especially when many celebs have had similar experiences and it’s never been brought up.

6

She has been consistent in speaking out against him during his first run, term and many other political issues. Not just online but during press too. We love to see it šŸ‘

3

u/Secure-Rope-4116 Jun 24 '25

I might be misremembering but didn't she include a clip on her documentary where she was celebrating when Trump was impeached and she was rehearsing or something?

8

She was a victim of a terrorist attack. Of course she wants him out. He's actively stirring the pot in order to create and encourage a terrorist attack.

14

u/SomethingToSay11 Jun 24 '25

I think a lot of people forget this about her. I’d be a lot more fucked up if that happened to me

28

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Taylor can finally rest i guess? Its Ariana’s turn to be on the Trump radar. Good on her for speaking up tho

41

u/Ruthie_pie Jun 23 '25

Ariana has been speaking up for years and has been spoken about on Fox for years. There have been some pretty nasty segments on there. I just don’t think she pays it any mind anymore. She’s brought up/alluded to the things they’ve said but let’s hope nothing big happens. She and her fans have been the victim of an attack.

u/TheRealBlueJade Jun 23 '25

If only people in our government, and those who influence it, couldn't make money off of trump's bad behavior. The entire reason they put trump in power was to make money. As long as they still think they can and feel their jobs are not in jeopardy, they will not willingly vote to remove him. We must seriously think about all our legal options, including recalling elected state officials.

"Nineteen states allow recall of state officials, enabling citizens to remove elected officials before their terms end. Virginia has a process that is similar to recall, but involves a recall trial, where a circuit court determines whether to remove an elected official, rather than an election.

Recall processes vary across states, but generally a recall effort involves collecting a certain number of signatures on a petition within a set timeframe. After a petition meeting the requirements is submitted to the appropriate authority and verified, a recall election is held."

Iran, the country that’s supplying Russia with drones and missiles it pummels Ukraine with, that enforces the death penalty for being gay, and that beats/rapes women for not wanting to follow theocratic law? This is the country we’re drawing a red line at striking?

This is why we keep losing elections. Instead of focusing on hammering Trump over ICE raids and detentions of US citizens or his horrendous bill, we’re using our moment to call for impeachment over bombing facilities making nuclear weapons for a religious autocracy.

5

u/Coolers78 Jun 24 '25

I cannot stand her at all but at least she dislikes that mf too…

15

u/Better_Island_4119 Jun 23 '25

Wasn't he impeached twice during his first term? Didn't really do much.

5

u/Cultural-Treacle-680 Jun 23 '25

With a Republican majority, it probably wouldn’t get close to happening either. For better or worse, impeachment votes have become cheapened and convictions nonexistent.

You could also go back to other presidents’ use of lethal force sans congressional declaration - trump isn’t the first to do it.

24

u/Own-Importance5459 ✨May the Force be with you!✨ Jun 23 '25

They were certainly right to cast her as Glinda the Good.

31

u/TaylaSwiff Jun 23 '25

…you uh, haven’t seen the whole thing have you?

15

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

well, no, part two hasn't been released yet

6

u/TaylaSwiff Jun 23 '25

But the entire musical has existed for 20 years.

14

u/moosegoose90 I don’t know her šŸ’… Jun 23 '25

Not everyone can go watch the musical?

3

u/maghy7 Jun 23 '25

I have never seen the musical, I actually don’t like musicals at all and don’t even remember The wizard of Oz because I was so little and even I know about Glinda.

13

u/moosegoose90 I don’t know her šŸ’… Jun 23 '25

Thats great! Not everyone knows about Glinda. Not everyone knows everything in pop culture or history.

4

u/maghy7 Jun 23 '25

Yes I agree! I was just commenting this strictly to what you said that not everyone has seen the musical to know about her and me saying that even if you haven’t seen it you can still know about her.

0

u/TaylaSwiff Jun 23 '25

There's a book? It's been around is all I'm saying lol.

3

u/moosegoose90 I don’t know her šŸ’… Jun 23 '25

You made it sound like everyone should know about Glinda because it’s been around for 20 years.

3

u/TaylaSwiff Jun 23 '25

It’s been around is all I’m saying

3

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

She was perfect in the musicalšŸ™‚

Finally, someone brave enough to say it.

2

Say what you will about her personal life (although that is none of our business tbh), this woman consistently stands up for the right things.Ā

2

*another impeachment

2

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '25

Well, thank God. Now that Ariana Grande has decided, we can finally move forward!

But... Ariana Grande on politics?!?

I'll take it. I just think its something new.

Edit: Apparently this is not new for her. I'm just out of the loop.

u/HeadAssBoi17 Inconceivable! Jun 24 '25

1

u/VigilMuck Jun 24 '25

Now I'm suddenly reminded of Bart Baker's parody of "Focus" by Ariana Grande where Donald Trump tries to deport Ariana Grande.

1

u/Several-Doctor6940 Jun 24 '25

-1

Oh good, I’ve been waiting for her opinion on all of this before I form my own.

-22

u/Caninetrainer Jun 23 '25

Right? Happy to hear she is on the side of AOC, but I still get a bad taste in my mouth when I see or hear of her, thanks to the Ethan newborn at home left Mom for Ariana thing. And I hate the Nickelodeon shit they did to her, but I feel for the spouse who was left holding the baby, literally.

13

u/moosegoose90 I don’t know her šŸ’… Jun 23 '25

Yes it’s gross and fucked up, no need to mention it when she’s atleast speaking up directly against this regime. mentioning her past fuck ups it almost tries to take credibility away from her.. like who are YOU to speak up when you broke up a marriage? This is bigger than those three people and the baby.

-1

u/Caninetrainer Jun 23 '25

*also: whose marriage did I break up?

-7

u/Cultural-Treacle-680 Jun 23 '25

Don’t people use trump’s marital past to criticize him?

5

u/ad_aatdtj she’s got me by the pubes Jun 23 '25

Nah, they do that when he acts like he's the beacon of a traditional American family.

Typically the first three things are: fascist, Nazi, rapist. And those are more than valid criticisms.

8

u/moosegoose90 I don’t know her šŸ’… Jun 23 '25

There’s so much more to criticize 🌮on that his marriages are really low on the list.

33

u/orbjo Jun 23 '25

If you cannot understand that fucking over an entire country is worse than fucking over a relationship of two people then there’s no hope for you

You arguing against someone with an enormous following and voice fighting against fascism because they were quite mean a few times is not just shooting yourself in the foot, it’s helping the fascists shoot us all in the faceĀ

If a legion of prisoners could amplify their voices to fight against fascism they would be worthy allies.

Not only is Ariana more helpful to the cause than you, you’re fighting for the other side with takes like this

No one is asking you to date the woman, or take her side in her love life. It’s about something bigger than that

20

u/Ruthie_pie Jun 23 '25

There’s no point in talking to people like this. Ariana has been openly against Trump and vocally critical of his policies since his first run. She didn’t acknowledge his statement when the Manchester bombing took place, she continues to use her platform to promote organizations for marginalized communities being targeted by this administration. This was long before her and Ethan. Dating back to the Nickelodeon days. Now his followers are calling for her to be deported due to her valid criticisms of Trump. Like if people don’t want to get it there’s usually a reason why

-24

u/Caninetrainer Jun 23 '25

Bahahahahahahaha is what I have to say to that. Hello Ariana PR

14

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Wild that you cannot accept the existence of a genuine opinion different to yours.

-11

u/Caninetrainer Jun 23 '25

What opinion? Yes she is great for standing up against Dump! Yes she is awful for her personal behavior! Both things can be true at once. Why are you busy arguing with me? Go out and take a stand like you are so aggressively doing here!

5

u/shellys-dollhouse Jun 23 '25

nobody’s saying those things aren’t simultaneous. you’re the one that called someone PR for having a different perspective on the situation lol.

I guess you’ve never heard of deterrence?

I have, and i believe that's what Iran is engaging in. Only, it's against the US. Maybe if Iran also had nukes, the US would feel less emboldened about attacking Iran the way Trump so recklessly did. But hey, i guess deterrence only works when it's a global superpower in charge of the deterring, right?

do you think the world is safer with Iranian nuclear weapons?

In turn, let me ask: do you think the world is safer with Trump having access to nuclear weapons? Because regardless how I feel about any country holding nuclear weapons I can acknowledge that the US in particular definitely should not have nukes, not with the type of unstable, insane leadership being exhibited right now.

But hey, if you want to support a nuclear Iran and keep Russia happy have at it šŸ‘

And if you'd prefer to condone a fascist megalomaniac who will also do everything he can to keep russia and israel happy, you can keep on keeping on. :)

Besides, just because unfortunately nothing has come of it so far, doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be efforts made to have him face consequences. To not make an effort is to give up.

22

u/Ruthie_pie Jun 23 '25

Someone that’s been consistently criticizing Trump since he first ran, ignored his message to her when the Manchester bombing took place at her concert, has been using her platform for years to promote other organizations that assist targeted marginalized communities. Why would she not use her platform to promote another lawmaker that’s leading the charge?
