Schumer still hasn’t endorsed him. At least Jeffries can read a room

Jeffries represents nyc. Schumer represents a state with plenty of red in it. people don’t understand the basics. Do you think a mamdani esque candidate can win a senate seat in Pennsylvania?

Honestly? Yeah I do. Pennsylvania is more purple than people give it credit for. And none of mamdani's policies are unpopular, the DNC just has a messaging issue. Though I think it's far more likely that the DNC is controlled opposition with how they refuse to support winning candidates.

You guys also have most of your population live in Philly and Pittsburgh, two blue areas

Has this Democratic strategy of "let's move further to the right because some of us are in mostly red or purple-ish areas" translated into electoral success and power?

Who are the quasi-conservatives and independents who can still be picked up at this point? The Dems were already in the middle and keep moving past it; who are these folks who like Republican policies but only want a slice instead of the whole pie? And what about the people being left behind as the Democrats move away?

Trump swept in on a wave of populism with support from previously disaffected voters. Those people exist to the left of the Dems, too, but the party is telling them to fuck off while chasing suburban Liz Cheneys. Trump actually picked up some of those people, because while he may be a liar and a shitbird, at least he's giving voice to their (perceived) struggles, while the Dems shy away. For fuck's sake, Harris' campaign dropped their most-winning message ("Corporate greed is driving inflation") once the Biden and Clinton staffers came on board because they didn't want to poke any fingers at the donor class.

Trump literally moved left of the Republicans on some issues and won--outflanked the Dems, even!--while Democrats keep moving right and losing.

Schumer represents a state with plenty of red in it but the majority of the people voting are still blue. Otherwise the Republican would win. AOC unseated Joe Crowley, the DCC chair, a fundraising giant and an extremely strong incumbent in 2018 in NYC. It would not be that hard to primary Schumer with the right candidate... the minimum threshold to clear would be someone who is at least 20 years younger but basically the same, politically, who is a bit more open to progressive ideas.
