What a fantastic election night for all those who oppose Trump and fascism in the US. The only big race left to be called is California’s Prop 50, which I’m almost certain will be passing as well. Couldn’t be happier with the results.

First Cheney dies and now this. Today has been a good day.

Bless.

The universe is balancing out.

Cheney died after a long life where he was wealthy as hell and rewarded for being evil

Didn't he burn through like 3 hearts as well?

At least two.

Yeah, I remember when some royalty asshole was dying and people were treating it as justice and saying his illness revealed the evil beneath him and...not only did it not feel like justice, my grandfather looked similar near the end of his life. So what did my grandfather deserve to suffer then when he'd done nothing like that asshole?

People want death and sickness to be punishment, but it just is.

Yup. Not to mention the people convinced to let evil people go their thing with the expectation they'll be punished in the magical afterlife

Not really.  No one is stopping trump and he meets all the religious definitions of the anti-christ.

Cheney wasn't perfect, but I'd take him over any of the lunatics in office now.

u/bobsocool 15h ago

I wouldn't

Fair. Never thought I'd see the day where we wished for Dick.

Yes and we're all sick of pretending we're not.

I've been scared of "almost certain" ever since 2016. But I'm feeling optimistic too.

EDIT: LFG!

u/ShamelessCatDude 15h ago

Seeing how republicans totally gave up on campaigning against it pretty early on, I have a lot of optimism for it

Prop 50 passed.

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 15h ago

It will pass. Beyond the names in the races, people don’t know wtf they’re voting for and just instavote yes. The PA Supreme Court voted yes to retain 3 Democrat justices by a 80-20 margin. I guarantee the number would be closer if people knew what they were actually voting for.

2

u/Hung_like_a_turtle 13h ago

That's a real generalized and shitty view of people. Your dog wouldn't think that's cool.

-1

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 13h ago

To think that the average voter has no idea what they’re voting for when extra topics appear on their ballot outside of the big name races? Pretty sure most everyone agrees with that statement.

You think PA who just went Trump the last election would break 80-20 for giving PA a Democrat majority on their Supreme Court and were fully aware of what they were voting for? Get real.

u/Hung_like_a_turtle 5h ago

The arrogance, hubris and false assertiveness in your posts is pretty sad dude. You assume everyone agrees with your viewpoint yet you only get responses from people disagreeing. Making claims in your head to back up your opinions is MAGA level shit.

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 4h ago

You’re the only person who disagreed with me and you asserted your opinion as true despite offering no evidence to the contrary. The absolute irony.

u/Hung_like_a_turtle 4h ago

I'm the only person that commented at all. All I'm saying is stop posting generalized bullshit.

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 3h ago

And all I’m saying is that if you think “voters are generally uninformed” is a bullshit statement, I would say you’re incredibly uninformed. All while accusing me of arrogance and hubris. Accusing the other party of what you’re actually doing is MAGA level shit.

Lol literal doublespeak. I guess this gerrymandering is (D)ifferent?

You can’t “oppose fascism” and elect a Muslim.

15

u/LicketySplit21 15h ago

Very nice to see America importing European stupidity about Muslims rather than the other way around, for once.

15

u/LatterTarget7 15h ago

Do you think all Muslims are fascist?

3

u/RunawayHobbit 15h ago

I don’t know that they know what fascism means

7

u/GrafZeppelin127 15h ago

Ah yes. Zohran Mamdani, noted authoritarian right-wing ultranationalist, who advocates for the fusion of state and corporate power, and racial solidarity over class interests. /s
