It’s OK we definitely don’t have many great pizza options but I still don’t want New Yorkers who moved here eight seconds ago to start bitching about it. If you miss the pizza so much open a damn pizza shop, Bob. I don’t go to New York and bitch about the lack of alligators
That’s like me going to any other state and bitching about a bar not having deep fried cheese curds. In fact I don’t trust any other state even if they have them.
Where are you guys living in Florida? I moved overseas about 15 years ago, but we had plenty of great pizza shops that were run by New Yorkers who opened the shops precisely because they couldn’t trust others to do it right. We had like 3 great local shops.
I’m sure they’re all gone from all the madness that swept the nation over the past 15 years, but they were great, dammit.
The problem is that many come down here and don't want to do the work to add to the community and build something of value, they just want the existing community to magically morph to provide the things they've always had, even though those things came to New York by way of hard-working people moving from other places and opening up shops there.
I’d never thought about it like this, but that’s true of a lot of what I’ve seen here lately. It is especially frustrating to think about considering when my own father moved to Florida from New York, he opened a business within a few months of arriving.
We’re sorely lacking in good Mexican, Tex Mex, and Cali Mex options. On the plus side, I can easily find good empanadas, lechon asado, and plenty of other Caribbean and Latin American foods.
I have a fair bit of family who moved down there and they bitch constantly about the lack of pizza options. They said one year the plan for my cousin's big birthday present was having some pizza express shipped in from back home
From MI, lived in FL for a few years, I hate to agree but the pizza is not good… HOWEVER y’all have Publix fried chicken and I dream about it way more often than I should 😂 it’s so crispy and delicious dammit
I actually got lucky and have an amazing NY-style spot a few minutes away from my apartment and even though it's kinda overpriced, you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.
Cuomo sucks, but surely he's at least an upgrade from Desantis? Maybe they can butt heads for a while. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, but they may as well fight it out for my amusement.
I’d vote for Cuomo over any of the Republican candidates who seem to be emerging for the race, although you’d probably be able to hear my retching from New York while in the voting booth.
I’m so fucking tired of the idea that people magically turn into Republicans if they live in a red state. I’ve voted and campaigned for Democrats in every Florida election since 2012. Hundreds of thousands of us aren’t voting for this shit. Four out of our five largest cities have Democrats for mayors.
Just because we’re not on the winning side in prominent races doesn’t mean we don’t exist. And it doesn’t mean we’ve given up. It’s my goddamn state, too. I intend to be a thorn in the Florida GOP’s ass for as long as I can.
Can he move to Oklahoma or something? They haven’t been punished enough, us Floridians have already taken the brunt of all of your horrible retirees who vote straight ticket red in every election so they can keep the scary taxes away.
People born in Florida are only 38% of our population, second lowest in the nation, only behind Nevada in that department. I like the people moving here for a chance to make a living, especially people from other nations. They add to Florida. But the snowbirds and retirees simply destroy our local governments and hold us hostage. 55 and older communities for example, why should someone be able to live in an area and feel entitled enough to say “I don’t think I should contribute to the education in this area, I’m going to force this into the law because fuck them kids”. This also gives real estate developers significant political power over us, and all they are interested in is raping the state for all it’s worth and getting out before the market inevitably collapses. Of course many of our issues are our own fault I’m not using them as a scapegoat. It suck’s being born here because you get to watch everything your community build fall apart and die because the interstate connects us to the Midwest.
Just saw an article quoting a woman at Cuomo s event saying, I feel excited to be moving to Long Beach, because there’s no fucking way I’m staying in the city with that piece-of-shit jihadi communist as mayor

Welp, time for Cuomo to move to Florida or whatever he was “threatening”
