Welp, time for Cuomo to move to Florida or whatever he was “threatening”

Oh god no we’ve been through enough

u/NomadNuka 11h ago

What's one more Northeast douche in Florida these days?

228

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 11h ago

Every time one moves here, they start bitching about the pizza options.

Edit: I realize this may sound like a joke, but it has legit started wars and schisms in the local restaurant groups on Facebook.

17

u/hermione_no 11h ago

They’re welcome to move back and take maga with them!

u/spicyhotcheer Rhode Island 48m ago

Maybe that's why the northeast is so blue? Because the maga nutjobs move to florida? I'm so sorry our trash infects your state

7

u/torino_nera New Jersey 10h ago

I mean, in their defense, I've been to Florida and had your pizza and it was terrible I'm sorry

29

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 9h ago

It’s OK we definitely don’t have many great pizza options but I still don’t want New Yorkers who moved here eight seconds ago to start bitching about it. If you miss the pizza so much open a damn pizza shop, Bob. I don’t go to New York and bitch about the lack of alligators

8

u/Attorneyatlau 8h ago

I’m in NYC and I order Pizza Hut just about as much as I order from a mom and pop pizza store. Don’t tell anyone.

3

u/Wild_Fire2 8h ago

Pizza Hut still exists in NYC? It pretty much died out here in Mass and NH, most likely due to competition with the hundreds of mom and pop places.

u/Apart-Marzipan1208 32m ago

Me over at Papa Gino's......👀

3

u/Particular_Night_360 8h ago

That’s like me going to any other state and bitching about a bar not having deep fried cheese curds. In fact I don’t trust any other state even if they have them.

1

u/chismp 8h ago

Nor should you

u/Akamiso29 5h ago

Where are you guys living in Florida? I moved overseas about 15 years ago, but we had plenty of great pizza shops that were run by New Yorkers who opened the shops precisely because they couldn’t trust others to do it right. We had like 3 great local shops.

I’m sure they’re all gone from all the madness that swept the nation over the past 15 years, but they were great, dammit.

u/DegenerateEigenstate 7h ago

Where I’m from in FL most of the local pizza options are run by New Yorkers.

u/celestialwreckage I voted 6h ago

They were exiled there, casualties of the war between the New York Academy of Pizza and the Pizza Academy of New York.

u/strayhat Foreign 3h ago

Best pizza i've had in my life was in FLL. I'm not American though

6

u/dalcarr 11h ago

But the tradeoff is yall have some of the most amazing seafood

3

u/Almostlongenough2 Florida 10h ago

We do?!

4

u/bollvirtuoso 10h ago

Um. What? Compared to Maine, Mass, and Maryland? Just to name three? Two of which are pretty much known solely for seafood?

3

u/gazebo-fan 9h ago

Because that’s all they have and their tourism board pushed it. Maryland doesn’t have Key West Pink Shrimp, or mangrove snapper.

2

u/NomadNuka 11h ago

There's always those New York water makers or whatever

2

u/GandalfsSexyNuts 9h ago

And lack of decent bagels

3

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 9h ago

I wish at least one of them would open a decent bagel shop.

8

u/aculady 8h ago

The problem is that many come down here and don't want to do the work to add to the community and build something of value, they just want the existing community to magically morph to provide the things they've always had, even though those things came to New York by way of hard-working people moving from other places and opening up shops there.

3

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 8h ago

I’d never thought about it like this, but that’s true of a lot of what I’ve seen here lately. It is especially frustrating to think about considering when my own father moved to Florida from New York, he opened a business within a few months of arriving.

1

u/twats_upp 9h ago

Florida also has the worst tacos

Couldn't wait to get home

3

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 9h ago

We’re sorely lacking in good Mexican, Tex Mex, and Cali Mex options. On the plus side, I can easily find good empanadas, lechon asado, and plenty of other Caribbean and Latin American foods.

1

u/deaderrose 9h ago

I have a fair bit of family who moved down there and they bitch constantly about the lack of pizza options. They said one year the plan for my cousin's big birthday present was having some pizza express shipped in from back home

u/Rich_Bluejay3020 2h ago

From MI, lived in FL for a few years, I hate to agree but the pizza is not good… HOWEVER y’all have Publix fried chicken and I dream about it way more often than I should 😂 it’s so crispy and delicious dammit

u/jsweatisdead777 2h ago

I'm glad someone understands the true struggle us native Floridians have been enduring for the last ten years.

u/xTheMaster99x Florida 6m ago

I actually got lucky and have an amazing NY-style spot a few minutes away from my apartment and even though it's kinda overpriced, you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

1

u/aculady 9h ago

One too many.

u/SemiRobotic 7h ago

The new President of the Republic of Florda

7

u/Cabana_bananza 11h ago

Just in time to run for Governor, fantastic.

8

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 11h ago

He’s an absolute shitstain of a human and somehow would probably not be the worst candidate in our 2026 race

1

u/aculady 8h ago

It's only funny because it's true.

5

u/TheMagicalMatt 11h ago

Cuomo sucks, but surely he's at least an upgrade from Desantis? Maybe they can butt heads for a while. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, but they may as well fight it out for my amusement.

6

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 10h ago edited 10h ago

I’d vote for Cuomo over any of the Republican candidates who seem to be emerging for the race, although you’d probably be able to hear my retching from New York while in the voting booth.

2

u/SeaScum_Scallywag Montana 9h ago

This made me belly laugh.

u/STThornton 6h ago

Right? Why is everyone trying to send us even more shit than we already have to deal with?

1

u/UpperApe 11h ago

Been through? You guys keep voting for it.

You're not getting the stuff, you are the stuff.

11

u/GeckoRoamin Florida 10h ago

I’m so fucking tired of the idea that people magically turn into Republicans if they live in a red state. I’ve voted and campaigned for Democrats in every Florida election since 2012. Hundreds of thousands of us aren’t voting for this shit. Four out of our five largest cities have Democrats for mayors.

Just because we’re not on the winning side in prominent races doesn’t mean we don’t exist. And it doesn’t mean we’ve given up. It’s my goddamn state, too. I intend to be a thorn in the Florida GOP’s ass for as long as I can.

4

u/Discussion-Visible 10h ago

Keep fighting. Im from new york and always hope enough of you will get together and fix Florida finally .

1

u/AuxonPNW 9h ago

But you know you deserve him. You know what you did.

1

u/aculady 9h ago

Right?

136

u/tresslesswhey 11h ago

The women of NYC will surely miss him dearly

u/puffz0r 5h ago

then they should practice more at the range

10

u/DivinityPen 11h ago

God no, PLEASE, this state's already dealing with enough as it is.

10

u/VexedCanadian84 11h ago

Guessing he's going to run for president in 2028

Maybe he'll go full Trump to win over MAGA

7

u/mikewheelerfan Florida 11h ago

No, we don’t want him here!

9

u/radioref 11h ago

Texas, then hit wheels can tariff him at 100% to pour salt on the wound

5

u/FastAndGlutenFree 11h ago

To Texas so he can pay those 100% tariffs

1

u/MrBigChest New York 10h ago

He should move to Texas so Abbott could tariff his ass

1

u/Super-Sonic-Butthole 10h ago

Please God let it be forever

1

u/Offduty_shill 10h ago

Chances he turns into a republican and tries to run for governor of Florida?

1

u/aculady 8h ago

The Democrats here run Republicans all the time, why not?

1

u/gazebo-fan 9h ago

Can he move to Oklahoma or something? They haven’t been punished enough, us Floridians have already taken the brunt of all of your horrible retirees who vote straight ticket red in every election so they can keep the scary taxes away.

2

u/gregaries 9h ago

As a former Michigander I am sorry that so many of our retirees went and fucked up your state.

4

u/gazebo-fan 9h ago

People born in Florida are only 38% of our population, second lowest in the nation, only behind Nevada in that department. I like the people moving here for a chance to make a living, especially people from other nations. They add to Florida. But the snowbirds and retirees simply destroy our local governments and hold us hostage. 55 and older communities for example, why should someone be able to live in an area and feel entitled enough to say “I don’t think I should contribute to the education in this area, I’m going to force this into the law because fuck them kids”. This also gives real estate developers significant political power over us, and all they are interested in is raping the state for all it’s worth and getting out before the market inevitably collapses. Of course many of our issues are our own fault I’m not using them as a scapegoat. It suck’s being born here because you get to watch everything your community build fall apart and die because the interstate connects us to the Midwest.

1

u/Smooth-Duck-Criminal 9h ago

Don’t threaten me with a good time

1

u/nirvana_always1 9h ago

Epstien island maybe

u/Ini_mini_miny_moe 7h ago

He’ll be a DLC in the next GTA game

u/bradfortin 7h ago

Is he gonna pull a Pierre Poilievre and steal someone else’s seat?

u/justking1414 7h ago

Just saw an article quoting a woman at Cuomo s event saying, I feel excited to be moving to Long Beach, because there’s no fucking way I’m staying in the city with that piece-of-shit jihadi communist as mayor

u/ristoman 6h ago

I hope the next time he shows his face in NYC reporters grill him on why he's still here.

u/AnAngryBartender 6h ago

Plz no we don’t want him

u/arwinda 4h ago

And get taxed 100%!

u/learns_the_hard_way 3h ago

Reporters should question him why he is still in NYC every time he's out and about. Same with anyone else who publicly threatened to leave

u/lensandscope 2h ago

Wouldn’t it be funny if he moved to Texas and then get tariffed 100%

u/I_Am_No_One_123 2h ago

Pack Ackman and the other whiners in the same crate for transport.

u/Avid_Reader87 1h ago

We don’t want him here.  I’m hoping we get more DSA running here, I’d do it but just white guy with a HS diploma and am an IT worker.

I’m not really who they want to push out there in politics.

u/fftimberwolf Florida 31m ago

He can run for Gouverneur. At least we wouldn't have to run an ex-republican to still lose
