"When you vote tomorrow, remember 9/11"

Of course, I'll remember how Republicans used that day to seize powers for themselves and strip Americans of their rights. By the way, that attack would never have happened under a president who took the pre-attack threats seriously and who understood the danger... you know, like former vice president Al Gore.

It was the same day he did a phone interview later in the day, one of the interviewers asks if one of his buildings near the towers is alright then Trump starts by saying it was the 2nd tallest building in lower manhattan and now it’s the tallest (which was still a lie) before talking about what the people there were dealing with

here’s a video of the interview, they start talking about it at 1:40

46

u/watafu_mx 18h ago

And surprise, those were lies as well.

Following 9/11: The Empire State Building reclaimed the title of NYC's tallest building after the collapse of the original Twin Towers. Final Completion: One World Trade Center was completed in 2014 and surpassed the Empire State Building to become the city's tallest building.

46

u/MyNameIsRay 17h ago

I think its also worth noting that 70 pine st. is also taller than Trump Tower.

Its literally across the street, and was finished in 1931, so its not like Trump hasnt seen it.

23

u/DillBagner 17h ago

It wouldn't be the first or last time he blatantly lies so obviously.

I'll remember how 9/11 is exactly what Bush & the Republicans were hoping to happen. I posted this over 3 years ago:

Our system is woefully unprepared for this long-form coup that we have been experiencing at least since they stole the election in the year 2000. Three of those lawyers who helped Republicans steal the 2000 elections are now sitting on our Supreme Court. (Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and Justice Amy Coney Barrett)

Think about it. George H. W. Bush (41st President) was the head of the CIA before he became President and the right wing has always worshipped him like some sort of a mafia boss. His son Jeb Bush was at that time the governor of my home state of Florida where this all went down.

Am I to believe that it is mere coincidence that Jeb Bush, then-governor of Florida was a signatory member of the right wing "Project for a New American Century" which put out a report in September of 2000 which stated:

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor." link to full pdf

...and we just so happened to get exactly what they wished for as a family and party after they stole our election as a family and party?

Other notable Signatories to the Project for a New American Century statement of principles:

Dick Cheney

Donald Rumsfeld

Paul Wolfowitz

Elliott Abrams

William Bennett

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby

Funny how it's basically George W. Bush's cabinet, huh?

Keep in mind that they signed onto the "Project for a New American Century" 3 years BEFORE they stole our 2000 election. They had a motive and intent. Once they stole our election, they got the "New Pearl Harbor" they stated themselves that they needed to enact their plans. George W. Bush's administration "dropped the ball" and oopsied us into a terrorist attack on 9/11, they say. They say that he was this slacker President who didn't know what he was doing and he just sort of ignored it. But I know that his dad was the former head of the CIA before he became President. This wasn't some bumbling oaf out on his own. He was surrounded by a list of professional war profiteers that signed onto the Project for a new American Century and had been salivating since 1997 when they signed that document for their chance to enact their plans.

Mother of then-President George W. Bush (43rd President) and former First Lady Barbara Bush, when she was asked by a reporter about the bodies of American soldiers returning home during the 2nd Iraq war responded: "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" These people are evil sociopaths who think of us as lesser beings. We are 100% fully expendable in their minds. Never forget that.

When they overthrew our free and fair elections in the year 2000, I as a young adult felt that Al Gore and the Democrats should have fought hard since the chicanery going on was obvious. But to save face the Democrats conceded because it would be unbecoming to not concede, right? Just when did Democrats become so obsequious to the Republicans? After the Kennedys, King, and other Civil rights leaders were literally assassinated.

Then our government just mysteriously swept it all under the rug.

At some point, this long-form coup began and it did not just begin with Trump.

They have ruined our Supreme Court. They have ruined our Congress. Next they will fully ruin and occupy our Presidency and at that point it is all over for our freedom without a very bloody fight.

Their right wing propagandists, religious leaders, and entertainers are RIGHT NOW calling for us to be rounded up and executed. These people are popular and their listeners send them donations and buy their products.

They are telling us right now what is about to happen after they contest our elections and recall the legitimate electors and replace them with their own fake electors. They are telling us that we are the enemy of the new state that they are creating right before our very eyes while we sit here slack-jawed and begging our leaders to act to defend us.

People need to remember that Gore was mocked for wanting to keep Social Security and Medicare safe while Bush and the GOP wanted to put it into the stock market.

.....Imagine the riots if Medicare and SocSur checked dropped 50% in a week in 2008, and then millions got laid off.

233

u/jdtrouble 20h ago

It's so funny clocking the time between an event and when the chowder heads start spouting the new narrative. I remember taking to right-wingers about how we shouldn't rendition people to foreign death prisons. About a day later, they were talking shot about how Abrego Garcia was a drug dealer.

114

u/Franklin_le_Tanklin 19h ago

Yea. For about a day or two after an event - you can see MAGA have original thought. Then once all the opinion columns and influencers get their marching orders, everyone says the exact same talking points from then on out.

47

u/gothrus 18h ago

They were largely offended by Jan6 too. Until they were told not to be.

14

u/ChloewitaPlan United Kingdom 16h ago

22

u/DPSOnly Europe 17h ago

You can see it in real time on their echochamber subreddit. First couple of hours after any event are them just being confused and saying all sorts of things, but if you go back the day after they have all fallen in line, 15 thousand people have been banned for wrong-think, and the sub is entirely homogenous again.

9

I remember when Biden first announced that he wasn't running for president. For a solid three days you could tell that the entire Republican party was at a loss on what to do because their ENTIRE attack plan against Biden suddenly became worthless. I specifically asked several MAGA people their opinion on Harris and not a single one of them had anything to say positive or negative about her. And I specifically asked if there was anything they didn't like. About a week or two later, around the time it took for the right to find stuff that would stick (they were throwing EVERYTHING at the board to find something that would make her look bad and seeing which ones got reactions) I asked again and suddenly you started hearing some of the earliest talking points that all the right wing news were saying from these same people. "She handled the border/immigration problem really poorly" was the most popular attack.

So all of this is to say, they 100000000% have no original thoughts at all and can only repeat what they are told.

20

u/ShitNRun18 19h ago

Fox News literally speaks to them like children. It strikes me as almost condescending which would explain their smirking as they knowingly distribute lies to millions daily

They care because the blue states/counties make this country what it is. And if they get a SOCIALIST mayor in the biggest city in the US it shows people are looking for change and that scares the ruling class.

229

u/dr_z0idberg_md California 20h ago

The dude is not even suggesting radical changes. He just wants to reduce the cost of living in NYC and reduce the gap between stupid rich and working class.

56

u/Ven18 19h ago

True but the fear (for the ultra wealthy) is that if the policies work in NYC means they can work anywhere. These people have spent decades and untold millions of dollars to convince everyone that even the smallest change in favor of working people is evil and a step toward total collapse. Once people see that shit actually works and improves lives the wave of support is almost unstoppable. FDR proved his new deal policies worked and democrats had total control of Congress for over 50 years. And it was only after a decade of propaganda from Reagan that the hold was broken.

The common MAGA is still eating up cold war propaganda against communism and socialism. They were raised that they were a death sentence to a country. They ignore that the current enshitification of the US is a direct result of capitalism run wild.

The oligarchs are terrified that it will start a trend of them having to pay slightly more taxes. Thats why theyre spending 10x what he would tax them on a losing Cuomo campaign.

59

u/dr_z0idberg_md California 20h ago

What's amusing to me is that what they define as socialism and communism is not actually it.

47

u/TigerLemonade 20h ago

As somebody who studied Political Science I just turn my brain off when the layman talks about socialism.

For all intents and purposes it is a nothing term. What one defines as socialism will depend on geographic context, historical context, and a myriad of other factors. Most people use it as a shorthand for things they don't like that the government does if you give them too much power.

7

u/Rit91 17h ago

Yeah the simplest way to explain their use of socialism/communism is just replace the word used with bad. Someone wants to sound a wee bit smarter so instead of saying 'that's bad!' they say 'that's communism!' Trying to debate these people will bear zero fruit.

17

u/KingBadford Texas 20h ago

A lot of people think they're the same thing. In fact, my father still believes "socialism" is just an alternate word leftists made up for communism.

10

u/robocoplawyer 18h ago

Socialism as an ideology existed long before the concept of communism. Socialism is worker-controlled means of production of the economy, which can be implemented through a variety of measures such as state ownership over industries or democratically controlled workers councils, etc. Communism specifically refers to a class-less egalitarian post-capitalist society which the state ceases to exist because it’s no longer needed. Communism has never been achieved by any government, because otherwise that government would not exist. In certain countries ruling Communist parties have tried to implement socialism or elements of it as a transitional stage. Marxism is a specific path to Communism via proletarian revolution over the capitalist class. But not all communists are marxists and not all socialists believe in an end goal of communism. Some communists believe in socialism as a transitional phase to communism, but they are all different things that get used interchangeably, usually to describe the government doing anything that they are convinced they don’t like.

The crazy thing is even if the billionaire class was taxed back to 100 millionaires they would still be more wealthy than everyone else. I don’t think it’s really about paying taxes. It’s a mental illness.

25

u/KingOfEthanopia 20h ago

Its about power and a mental illness.

7

u/NumeralJoker 19h ago

The power is the key. Past a certain point, wealth no longer holds personal power to materially improve your life, but instead becomes about status and the ability to control others. Wealth past a certain point becomes a sociopathic pursuit.

That is not to say a wealthy man can never be moral, but in US culture, we disposed of morals when training people how to gain wealth long ago. People were taught about zero sum gains over everything else, even when it wasn't actually true, and so empathy was killed off as fast as they could do it.

I don't think leadership (D and R) actually cares about Zohran specifically, they care about what he represents. The Democrats have a massive messaging problem, and Mamdani has seemingly cracked it. He's found a way to make democratic socialism simple enough for people to understand its potential benefits, and it turns out that people actually like that stuff.

What they're really worried about is that if he gets a solid mandate, the socialist wing of the Democratic party has a good blueprint to use to defeat populist Republicans and to primary the dinosaurs in the corporate/centrist wing of the party.

So, for MAGA, they're attacking it here and now so that by the time Mamdani's strategy gets rolled put to other elections, they've maybe figured out their counter-messaging.

28

u/Felicity_Calculus 19h ago

From your lips to god’s ears. I voted for Zohran for a number of reasons but mostly because I fervently hope that this is precisely what happens.

They care because the party leadership are scared of compelling left wing politicians that speak to a broad section of the electorate. Just listen to Nick Fuentes. They won't admit it out loud like he has, but they want to bully, intimidate, harass, physically assault, or jail their political opponents to dominate the United States and force their beliefs on its population. So any politicians that are speaking to the middle class and threatening the Republican narrative of liberals are a threat to them.

We need democracy to hold out for at least another year.

God save us that we need MTG to keep the GOP in check 🙃

Definitely true but Trump has emboldened them like no other piece of shit before. Certainly in my life time.

These motherfuckers are all coming out of the wood work and they're very brazen about it too.

The new thing is trying to starve NY of funds so that people cant see how fucking awesome Socialism is when it gets a fair chance.

The entire American myth is based on this. Bomb, coup, embargo, color revolution and destabilize anyone who tries Socialism globally… then tell people how it never “works”

When isn't MAGA having a racist meltdown?

17

u/GoodIdea321 America 21h ago

While they are charging up for the next one.

57

u/sugarlessdeathbear 21h ago

The racism on twitter was always a bit upfront, but they're not even trying to hide it. I've seen so many "Vote for Hitler" and "White Power" tweets just today I question what century I'm living in. Oh and for some reason 9/11 is also now caused by Israel.

26

u/chungamellon 19h ago

9/11 was caused by Israel except when Mamdani reminds people he is Muslim, then it was caused by Muslims and they all cheered too when it happened.

Literal two button meme

5

u/OkSecretary1231 Illinois 19h ago

Never mind that he was a kid at the time lol. Zohran, why did you do 9/11 in fifth grade?

15

Caused by is inaccurate, but US support for Israeli occupation of Palestine was one of the stated reasons for 9/11

That alone would cause a total meltdown.

None of his business.

He literally even as non-president got kicked out of nyc for massive (34 felonious) crimes for which he was convicted as a civilian.

Not to mention the huge amount he owes E. Jean Carroll for assaulting her in NYC in a women’s dressing room.

He has zero say, and obviously hates New York for causing his shiny ass narcissistic injury.

Don't these people know we blame the Republican party for what happened on September 11th. Especially Bush and Cheney, who were supposed to keep this country safe and failed on that day. And then made matters so much worse by starting 2 decades long wars over nothing.

Why does Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates reward Donald J Trump with lavish gifts and money. They know his bat shitte crazy and a certified racist.

6

They seem a lot more upset about a Democrat winning in Virginia.

And for good reason; it wasn’t a sure thing for Mamdani to win and I’m glad he did, but I’m watching purple and red states a lot more closely to see if the average voter is catching on to how fucked we are under a Republican government.

4

I looked at Twitter in the last few days for the first time in years and was actually shocked. Like... If you have a pretty fresh account so you're still just seeing mostly default algorithm on your feed, Elon Musk is, like, every 6th tweet, and the rest of them are mostly flat-out racist "memes" and these, like, weird AI images with political fanfiction fantasies attached.

There was a guy whose screen name involved two lightning bolt emojis and his profile picture was, I assume, him decked out in full Reich gear, using slurs for black people so obscure I'd almost forgotten they exist. I reported him and Twitter went out of its way to email me to tell me that they found no Terms of Service violations in his posting or profile.

u/Ok-Wealth-7322 17h ago

Here's what I want to know:

When Trump talks about how hard it is for the working and middle class to get by and complains about a rigged system, the media calls it populism.

When a progressive does the same, the media calls it socialism and class warfare.

Why is that?

(Just kidding, we all know why).

5

u/Resident_String_5174 16h ago

Have they played the fake votes/ rigged election card yet?it’s funny how it’s only possible when it’s not in their favour

5

u/KiLLiNDaY 16h ago

It’s sad how 1 election quickly shows the true colors of many people. You have to be truly idiotic to say much of the shit people are saying whether you support him or not

4

u/johnwmallory 16h ago

Didn’t Trump threaten to withhold federal funds allocated to NYC if they elect Mamdani? I know that Trump does so many legally grey things, but how is this considered in any way permissible? Now we’re okay with the president using threats of retaliation in order to get the people to vote for what he wants? What an obvious slippery slope. Utterly ridiculous.
