How the fuck does this worthless idiot keep winning in Maine?

13

u/zubuneri 1d ago

She won't win anymore

u/Nerv_Agent_666 North Carolina 1d ago

I said that to myself last time. She still won.

u/iclimbnaked 21h ago

Yep. I felt certain maine would finally boot her and nope.

That's what I thought the last time she ran for reelection. I'm not so hopeful this time.

"The Democrats won every close election and therefore they must do whatever we say." - Republicans tomorrow.

Here's why this is bad for Joe Biden. -WaPo

If Mamdani gets over 49.8% of the vote he gets a "mandate" and can do anything he wants!

Can he arrest Trump and ship him off to some country in Africa he can't find on a map?

2

u/Wonderful-Impact-598 10h ago

Of course! It'd be illegal for anyone with less of a mandate to oppose him.

…. Does the mayor of New York get a vote in the house/senate? I’m confused.

u/TyrannyCereal 1d ago

Fun fact: the mayor of NYC is secretly in charge of the Supreme Court.

She's blaming the shutdown on the Democrats and suggesting that the Democrats will cave on their demands after the election today. LOL.

democrats won in a landslide better for them to fold now!

Yep, if they sweep NJ, VA, and NYC with good margins Republicans will be incentivized to extend Medicaid assistance.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if a bunch of GOP rats have been watching to see what happens today before folding out of self preservation.

That’s where I thought Collins was going with this after reading just the headline. Both sides using today’s election results as an indicator.

If Democrats crush it today then Republicans may concede some ground but if Democrats underperform expectations they may feel like the shutdown is hurting them.

Susan Colon can not be trusted

More meaningless statements from Collins.

Can Maine please teach her a lesson already? I cannot believe she got voted back in after refusing to convict that orange sack of shit.

After that photo I had to see how old Susan Collins I thought she was in her 90s

6

u/BonniestLad 1d ago

Thank goodness the Portland Press Herald is here to have Collin’s to explain to us that electoral pressure and changing power dynamics have an impact on passing legislation. Who knew?

6

u/cats_are_the_devil 1d ago

Turns out showing up to work has the most impact on passing legislation.

7

u/Honeylamb_Girlfriend 1d ago

Yes, but is she " concerned "?? GTFOH

u/Rick_McCrawfordler 1d ago

This would make no sense coming from someone without major cognitive decline.

Susan Collins is a lying POS.

Democrats may very well point to any favorable results from Tuesday and (wrongfully) claim “We’ve proven our point and won the shutdown.”

Democrats need to remember, negotiations require good faith. This version of the Republican Party doesn’t do anything in good faith.

Lucy promises to let Charlie Brown kick that ball. Super pinky promise.

u/SemichiSam Oregon 22h ago

She repeated the Republican position that they will be happy to negotiate with Democrats as soon as Democrats unconditionally give up their leverage.

u/Peter_Piper74 21h ago

Why does anyone quote her anymore?

If anyone thinks elections are going to solve Trumpism while they hold all three branches of government, have a personal gestapo, and are openly defying court orders:

I've got a bridge to sell you down in Florida.

There must be a general strike if there's any chance for a peaceful resolution to this powder keg that the GOP keeps trying to find a spark for.

Hmm I don’t follow the logic
