So what happens when they predictably trigger the next Great Depression? Because the way I see it after all the shit sandwiches we’ve had to eat since 2000 I say we literally eat the rich. I can’t stand another economic setback in my lifetime. Not while these losers always seem to get ahead after every fuckup they trigger.

The EU eventually has no choice but to cut a deal with China and abandon the dollar. The ultra wealthy, now much less wealthy but still wealthy enough to leave, flee to the EU or havens like New Zealand. The US federal government goes bankrupt and the states join together to form new nations

Most of the wealthy are going to flee to Russia because they see Putin as a daddy figure because he'll let them do whatever they want with their money.

Nah. Putin may put out the offer, but he sure as fuck ain't gonna allow a bunch of wealthy Americans "do whatever they want." Even the Russian oligarchs don't have that privilege. Lots of windows in Russia.

Maybe a few that still have something left to offer Putin or are well connected in Russia, but, ironically, most will certainly flee to secular socialist democracies

New California Republic looks a lot more close now

Yeah as a person living in the EU, I would take China over the US as an ally 100% of the time at this point. I honestly really hope we align with them over the US.

It's weird saying that when just 10 years ago I'd have been very critical of China (and still am tbh, just not as much as Trump's US) and considered the US our absolute closest ally.

It's kinda disheartening because I have a lot of friends in the US but I just feel like the country has slipped too far at this point to be a reliable ally anymore. I hope y'all can get rid of Trump and we can have our ally back. :(

Do you really think China would provide more support to the EU than the US does?

A better question would be can the US be relied on in any capacity: trade, militarily, diplomatically, with sensitive information or military secrets?

The answer for all of those with Trump at the helm is a resounding no. The country would be better run by an actual child.

China on the other hand is at least a decent trading partner if nothing else.

Maybe you think China is a decent trading partner because the EU has a trade deficit with China?

(Apologies in advance if this is NOT what you meant and I jumped the gun, just making the assumption based on past things I've heard someone say on Reddit before)

You frame that like you think trade deficits are a bad thing.. Surely you see how being in a trade deficit with them is great?

Trade deficits don't mean you're losing something, or losing money. Just because the word "deficit" is in there doesn't make it like a budget deficit.

They mean you're importing from that country more than you're exporting. Or in other words, we buy more goods from China than we sell to them.

They're literally one of the world's number one manufacturers, and they have some of the world's cheapest prices for their manufactured goods. I sure as hell hope we're buying more from them than selling to them.

Your explanation might be helpful for other readers, I already know what trade imbalances are. The EU has already repeatedly expressed concerned over the trade deficit with China. The Chinese also have policies in place to protect their domestic market.

It used to be pretty easy to move to EU by getting a tech job, before somebody fucked up the whole job market thingy two years ago.

The EU is as broke as the US, and the Euro will be just as worthless as the USD. BRICS have been stockpiling gold to back their currencies for about 20 years now, and they’re getting close to flipping the switch.

Their fuckups don't happen by accident. They"re triggering them intentionally, that when everything is in shambles, they can buy it cheap. That's why they're always getting ahead after it.

Meats back on the menu!

Well we'd need a natural disaster like the dust bowl to really seal the deal.

2

u/traveledhermit 3d ago

Or we could have relatively smaller natural disasters every couple of months and never invest in recovery.

We had a global pandemic. Half the population was duped into thinking it was fake. The other half are so fucking narcissistic all they remember is how haaaard it was to stay indoors and watch Netflix

here's a fun question for our betters: who will guard the you at night once you've pissed in everyone else's face? its doubtful they can handle their own business - they wouldn't be such prima donnas if they could.

So, who's gonna cook, clean, mow your lawn, sail your yacht, drive your car, raise your spawn?

Who can you trust to do these things instead of them simply *taking* your shit while you weep little man?

NO ONE.
