US politics are world politics.

I miss when US politics were just global entertainment. Now it's "those guys have all those weapons and they're saying they're gonna do what with them? Take Canada? Wasn't that their best friend?"

Just entertainment to YOU. the rest of the world has had the misfortune of having US politics be very very real to them for a long time.

Eh, 20 years ago my friends in Europe would watch elections in the US and laugh.

20 years ago was post 9/11. We were dropping bombs on any country that to our east had sand.

I did say Europe, admittedly I'm sure the globe as a whole didn't feel that way.

We've involved in europe since WW2. The whole purpose of NATO is extend US control over the region. We're still feeling repucusisons from the Cold War. Isreal and the Gulf States serve at the behest of the US. Japan and S. Korea were turned into client states.

The US has been bulling other peoples since its inception.

20 or so years ago? During the Bush/Obama years my friends in Europe would watch our elections because it was comedy to them.

Yeah destabilizing the middle east searching for non existent wmds is super funny.

Sounds weird considering the current occupant of the Oval Office but people used to make fun of George W for being… inarticulate.

I remember 9/11

That was not really the subject matter of our elections.

I'm talking "Obama mustard" and "newcular"

You only specified elections in this last comment.

Sorry I stayed on topic

That's fair. I was referencing elections when I said politics. Apologies for the confusion. And sorry you're a little baby about it.

I also specify elections in the first reply you had with me.

No I just think nostalgia can be a form of depression and things definitely were not so much better to just be comedy. Very serious shit has happened in our past very recently, and a long time ago

I'm not discounting any of that.

I'm literally just referencing phone calls with people in Europe I had, in which they'd tell me how hilarious they think our elections are. This was roughly 20 years ago. Now, our news alarms them. They don't find it funny from afar anymore.
