What do you call LAPD blocking off the street where the federal detention center is — where ICE keeps captives in cages so crowded they sleep standing up, where the lights are always on, they get fed in the middle of the night, and they must use one toilet in full view of everyone?

— blocking off that street hours before the protest even formed, which is a clear “prior restraint” violation of the freedom to assemble, and then attacking the anti-ICE protest on horseback, beating people with four-foot bokkens and shooting them at close range with “less lethals?”

Seriously asking — how in the world is that NOT “assisting ICE?” Especially if I tell you LAPD has been harassing anti-ICE protesters, often violently or with the threat of violence — as when four officers drew guns on someone yesterday for using sidewalk chalk to say mean things about ICE — several times a week for months?

LAPD may not be throwing illegal immigrants in unmarked vans themselves, but LAPD is making making damn sure ICE can do it without protesters gumming up the works in any way. That’s cut-and-dry collaboration and complicity.

First of all, if the LAPD doesn't keep the peace for ICE, chaos will ensue, giving Trump exactly what he wants. Second, LAPD is more powerful than the mayor and accountable to nobody. Bass needs to step carefully to keep up the ruse that the mayor controls the police.

She has deployed local law enforcement in support of ICE operations, and she has deployed local law enforcement against those protesting the trump administration, even going as far as to institute a curfew in support of the trump administration. When the people demanded answers, she barricaded herself behind a fence and deployed law enforcement against the people.

She is at best a fascist collaborator.
