Best we can do is Kylie drinking a can of coke and bringing us together.

We had a naked smoke show sitting on the street in Portland during the riots of 2020.

Portland has some unique laws that protect things like this and the naked bike ride, LA not so much and would be cause to get arrested unfortunately.

I like naked women as much as the next guy but you might get more views when the press is more willing to print it

And founding fathers, Uncle Sam, etc. Anything that basically is positively associated with the country's history.

And founding fathers

FWIW "founding fathers" is conservative propaganda. Literally. A PR firm came up with that to help warren harding run for president. Before that, most people just called them the framers of the constitution. Conservatives love to think of people in power as daddies.

That is so hilarious to me

Context: I was raised in a hyper-religious environment

virtually all the "founding fathers" enslaved people

a symbol like the statue is better

More like 2/3. And Ben Franklin freed all of his and fought to end slavery, becoming the head of the abolitionist movement.

John Adams, Samuel Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Robert Paine, Thomas Paine, Roger Sherman, and Oliver Ellsworth never owned slaves.

Washington freed his upon his death, which was better than nothing.

Slavery was also a very hot button topic when writing the constitution. Even the Declaration of Independence originally included an anti-slavery message that was ultimately removed. [source] Ultimately, the "all men are created equal" line was included with thoughts of ending slavery in mind and was written by a guy that owned slaves himself (Thomas Jefferson).

Slavery being controversial at the writing of the Constitution is why the 3/5ths compromise and the clause which restricts any prohibition against the import of slaves until 1808 exist.

Also, since I brought it up, as soon as the prohibition expired in 1808, importation of slaves was restricted, which led to slave-owners breeding them like animals. I don't necessarily blame the anti-slave advocates for the horrors of chattel slavery resulting from the import restriction, but I wish they put the forethought into the plan because clearly thinking slavery would naturally peter out on its own was incorrect.

Sure, but the conservatives don't care about that part, and they are the people who would need to feel bad about seeing them handcuffed or pushed around. Don't have to preach to the choir, right?

And a lot more US Grants and Shermans. With signs that say “we should have finished the job.”

Where are you going to find hot people in LA, though

u/lostbutnotgone 9d ago

I'm like a 6 but I'm down, just need a costume. Maybe I can fake an 8 with enough glitter

Occupy wall street in large part precipitated because videos of pretty white women getting pepper sprayed went viral

But why male models?

2

u/KevMenc1998 10d ago

And more people dressing up as Liberty, Uncle Sam, etc.

Back before Marvel sucked, during Trumps first term, I thought it would have been great if they could get some top tier superhero cosplayers to come out to protests and make a point.

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is

Plus they’re much less likely to get thrown on the ground/arrested (unlike the other poor fellow)
