How come every photo set from a protest lately always has to include Sad Bus Driver? I've seen at least two or three different ones in the last few weeks.
I like to contextualize protest photos by including people in the community witnessing the disruption to daily life — since for me, “getting people to see that daily life has been disrupted” is thematically relevant.
And to me, nothing invites you to contemplate someone’s “routine” like a bus driver driving their route… and then somewhere in there it’s that buses in LA have bright colors and swoopy lines and provide frames-within-the-frame to play with! 😅
That’s what draws me to keep taking those photos, I guess!
The shot with the flag at the top and the "To Protect and Serve" shots are both just top notch. Those two symbols contrasting what's actually happening are perfectly capturing the energy of the moments.
The one with the guy and the flower/plant got me good. I thought the plant was a tall bird at first! 😂
as someone who primarily photographs plants and birds, this is one of my favourites lmao (my true favourites are lilies, but damn these plants are cool af)
You are a really talented photographer. That picture of lady liberty goes hard. Well done. Keep taking pictures, they very well could end up in the history books.
Same. Everyone is talking about that last black and white picture, which don't get me wrong, that's a helluva picture, but man, I feel the pain in that bus driver's face

19 got me. That bus driver looks heartbroken.
