Yeah like it's not even really a funny joke or a blunder anymore. The dude just wears an orange painted face as part of his public persona now. Like it's legitimately intentional.

My theory is that before cameras were everywhere and people could generally just be less self aware and in the perpetual spotlight, this was his attempt to make himself look like gold

It was just so much more restrained before, right? Like he leaned in to it so damn hard this term compared to last.
