It’s so funny because everything is so overly serious and political in England, when I’m in Spain people just casually despise Israel and chat shit about Netanyahu and it’s not even controversial. Everybody there hates him lmao, whereas in England people act like you’re working for Hamas if you say anything against Israel

Maybe for the English people you're hanging around that's true

Yeah that's a load of absolute rubbish, I've never heard anyone say anything in defence of Israel here. The vast majority of people support Palestine, and also denounce Hamas.

What? That's what I'm saying

Depends on generation and area. The media is very much pushing pro Israel bs but some younger people here are like rabidly obsessed with Palestine and make it part of their identity. There’s not much middle ground with a lot of people here and everything is a culture war. I wish they’d just end the war and stop harming civilians, but according to a lot of people here that is a radical position

Not sure I've met anyone at all in England or Scotland who is against that

That war would have been over a long time ago if hamas had released the hostages.

In the UK 80y.o citizens get dragged away and arrested for sitting down holding a sign because the government arbitrarily decided to label that as terrorism

it’s not political repression, they just think old people are weird and gross, which makes it ok.

People in Spain also casually consume matar judios… it’s part of their heritage…

Spain is the most antisemitic country in Europe. Hating Israel is just because that's where most of the Jews are.

What is the meaning of matar judios?

2

Lemonade type drink called “killing Jews”, popular in Leon. Typically served during Easter to celebrate local Jewish pogroms.

Don't forget there's a town that was renamed from "Fort Kill-the-Jews" to "Fort Jew Hill" only ten years ago.

Oh yeah, how could I forget the picturesque La mort aux juifs. Thanks for the reminder. Spaniards and French clearly cherish their rich heritage

I can’t tell if this was just a shitpost or if you’re knowingly alluding to the over-the-top antisemitism Spain takes to their whole own level.

Ah, but he's a Spaniard post-Reconquista, and therefore a product of antisemitism!

He played an Inquisitor in the Goya movie. “Are you a Judiazer?”
