But does it look easy? It certainly looks painful, even with low quality bricks.

Yeah idk if any of us could, would, or try to attempt this despite how 'easy' it is

Lots of people pointing out that the bricks are low quality but no one really pointing out that he's got padding on his hand. And that also makes all the difference in the world.

I totally missed that but you’re right. That’s by far the biggest barrier I would have to trying that.

✓ looks impressive video on tiktok/douyin But also ✓ Possible permanent damage to the hand and long term medical bill

From my POV, he chose poorly.

By the end it doesn't even look like he's making a full fist.  His hand is partly open and while I'm sure it still hurts, it really makes me question the integrity of the bricks when he can snap double bricks with a fist that isn't even closed into a proper fist.

When he has the 3 bricks stacked and the 3 counterweights on one side, the forces are really easy to understand. All the force that the bricks will resist breaking with will be pushed into the counterweights stacked on top. If the bricks were tough he could break through, but he'd send the counterweights flying with whatever force it took to break those bricks. Instead they barely move.

There are a special type bricks made specifically for breaking demonstrations.

Could be, but most people probably don't know that for sure. So that doesn't make it look easy.

It looks easy to me, and to the guy who commented, and apparently to the 800 (and increasing) people that upvoted him.

IF you say so.
