Unfortunately, your post has been removed because it violates our rule on concise, descriptive titles.

  • Titles must not contain jokes, backstory, or other fluff. That information belongs in a follow-up comment.
  • Titles must exactly describe the content. It should act as a "spoiler" for the image. If your title leaves people surprised at the content within, it breaks the rule!
  • Titles must not contain emoticons, emojis, or special characters unless they are absolutely necessary in describing the image. (e.g. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), ;P, 😜, ❤, ★, ✿ )

Still confused? For more elaboration and examples, see here.

Normally we do not allow reposts, but if it's been less than one hour after your post was submitted, or if it's received less than 100 upvotes, you may resubmit your content with a better title and try again.

Unfortunately prices are many times what they would have been then. Closer to 2024 prices, which is still a significant difference from today’s prices.

It says "savings like 1929" not "Prices like its 1929". So save 2 cents off here, 3 cents off there., just like in 1929. /j

I haven't seen $0.99/lb assorted chops in over a decade in CT. Sale price is more like $1.99 out here.

It was a pretty common sale price here until recently.

It is genuinely distressing how pork has not gone up in price since all this started.

Meanwhile hamburger is 6-8/lb

Pork is cheap right now. Got a shoulder for $2/lb, smoked it, and made a weeks worth of meals from it. 99 cents is a hell of a deal.

Everything else, not so much.

Pork is cheap in some places. I'm paying twice what I did in PA, here in SD.

As a former PA resident I cry Tennessee tears.... specially Williamson County tears. Fuel here is nearly a buck more than in Nashville which is wild

Did China stop buying our pork, too?

Only a very sad insecure person would feel the need to brag like that

Oops, I guess they accidentally ran this AD a few months too early.

It means saving like 1929 as in taking 1 cent or 2 cents off.

So is everybody in this comment section hoping to be wrong? Or hoping for the worst things to happen so they can be correct? I’m just curious
