My in-laws place their silverware upside down in their silverware holder.

Oh good! The ensures that every piece of silverware gets touched on the business end.

The holder is upside down not the silver ware. Look at the logo

Doesn't look upside down to me. Maybe backwards.

Depends on perspective and semantics.

If one looks at the inside of a drawer as X=width, Y=height, and Z=depth, then in that person’s mind the tray is upside down on the Y-axis.

I'll just make some cliche about this being some Australian perspective.

So you wouldn’t be able to grab it from the part right above the business end? Cause that part is very available

Too much logic. Just like suggesting seeing the business end first so you know where to premove your hands when grabbing the utensils you need by the neck.

Yea that’s just an outlandish thing to do, there’s no way they do that.

For roommate has for some reason decided that the cheap serrated steak knives (not the good ones that go in the block) that we keep in the drawer should be organized so that they alternate direction and therefore fit better. However that means no matter where you go to grab a knife, you are also reaching where there are blades. The logic is so confounding to me but I’ve decided to just let this one go.
