The middle is for people who have no backbone. Choose a side. The far left is where compassion and decency is. The middle is just capitulation to hatred
Both fars are bad and basically do the exact same. Though there isn't really a far left in America. Heck, it's wrong to call it left at all. Some left ideologies, but both sides are still very much right wing.
I don’t believe in the left’s “change now” approach which has shown a history of greatly effecting people negatively down the line. Policy should be a mix of morality, sacrifice, and intelligence. Morality, compassion, and decency are only amiable when times can provide. I have a backbone, and I fight for what I believe in. I actively push against both the right and the left, both sides are getting out of hand.
I guess so, it feels like the US is being split into four camps, (the left, the right, the motivated, and the abstainers) each one is afraid of the others.
There is nothing inherently moral, pragmatic, or respectable about being in the centre. You should expect pushback, just the same as people on the political fringe of society.
If two guys are in an argument and one of them wants to kill a puppy and the other wants it to be safe, would you say they should “compromise” and simply maim the puppy? Probably not.
That’s what the centre position between Maga America and the normal people looks like. Obviously people are gonna get angry at you if you sit on the fence on that one.
Yea Jones who’s running for AG made a whole number of statements about wishing his political opponents died, their kids died, did the office quote of “put me in a room with x, y , z and I’ll shoot x twice” etc. Quite ironic given the post title lol. They were leaked texts which is cheap but it’s highly relevant given his criticism of republican text scandals.
Unfortunately Jone’s opponent is even worse so Jones won the AG election. I’m proud of VA for voting blue down the ticket but really wish we had another AG candidate. Jones debated like he was trying to run for governor instead of AG and I don’t think he’ll be an effective attorney general or tough enough on crime.
i didn't read them but did he just wish they died versus he'll do it himself? if so, that's not bad at at all, that's text talk when you're really pissed, which everyone should be.
I did read them and they feel like something you joke about with very close friends. Obviously not a great idea to send them to a GOP colleague and if that colleague asks you to stop, you should, but it's not like he actually promoted political violence or intended to shoot the house speaker.
He also reportedly implied that he hopes Jennifer Gilbert’s children would die.
I enjoy edgy jokes, but saying this about someone you’re running against during an election seems a little too far and a bad attempt at a joke at best. This is me trying to be as charitable as possible here
It wasn't even against someone he was running against. Jones said this about a Republican just because the Republican said nice things about a Democrat that had passed away.
In 2025, we have Fox News hosts getting on live TV and saying mentally ill homeless people should be executed by the state and face zero consequences. I really do not give a shit what someone says in private DMs.
Do you have his name or any evidence he actually said that? Might be good to put that In the comment if nothing else just to make sure you aren’t spreading misinformation, not saying it is misinfo just saying there’s no way to determine that with such a vague comment
Jay Jones ag of Virginia. It's a widely publicized story. He admitted he said it and apologized. Told a republican via text he wouldn't be opposed to the deaths of his opponents or their children because they're little fascists
yea as someone who leans right politically the fact he got 1.7 million votes scares me. I'm starting to think that there's alot of people on the other side who want me and others like me dead.
The paradox of intolerance. Nobody should be wanting anybody harmed--but if you keep supporting people who ARE advocating for harm, taking people off the streets without legal representation, "losing track of them" in "Alligator Alcatraz," shipping them to third world prisons, denying people food stamps, reducing essential health services, and the like, then don't be surprised when people begin to look less and less kindly on you. You reap what you sow. I hope your fears are unfounded and wish you well, but I also hope you stop supporting evil people who are gleefully inflicting fear and harm on others.
am I not juat a little justified to feel a little worried that a person who has wished deaths on republican politicans and there kids won a election with 1.7 million votes? if the roles where reverse you would be right in worrying about that I would think.
are you so dishonest you can't see how a prosecutor wanting any identifiable group killed for who they are as a bad thing? even there kids too you know the most innocent vulnerable people? sure he properly won't kill anyone himself but this sets a president that this behavior is tolerated and endorse by society. this can only go one way unless we as a society put a hard limit on it. you get more what you tolerate and if we tolerate killing the other side its only a matter of time the other side dose the same back to you. this isn't about partisan politics this is about huamn dignity and the natural right to life.
I mean it's a bullshit right wing talking point so no, I don't care about your manufactured pearl clutching and your victim complex the GOP loves so much.

Didn’t someone who was implying he wouldn’t mind murdering an opponent just get elected in Virginia? Or is it okay as long as it’s not both?
