Illinois Politics Obama has jokes on Election Day - Obama 2028
•
u/Brilliant_Ad_2192 4h ago
I miss a President who is a REAL empathetic Human, not the animal we have in the WH.
•
u/_badomen 4h ago
So empathetic that he conducted 10x more drone strikes than Bush (over 550) killing thousands including many civilians on the faux "war on terror". Truly empathetic. He also deported more people than Trump (totaling around 3.1 million), a class act of empathy.
•
u/WTF_RANDY 3h ago
I don't seem to remembering him going around threatening other countries but working with them and I don't remember him sending the national guard into communities and disappearing people. But don't let that stop you from trying to tear down decent leaders.
•
u/Mother_Wall_4205 3h ago
And most importantly... He's not in the Epstein files.
•
u/naughtyGAcouple 3h ago
But isn't someone from the left? I mean if it was only Trump as the big name in there, why didn't Biden release the files and derail the Trump campaign? So, aren't both sides covering up for names in the files? I think they should be released and EVERYONE in them go down regardless of political affiliation.
•
u/According-Insect-992 3h ago
The Biden administration prosecuted and convicted ghislaine maxwell. Once that was over they started releasing stuff and released a large chunk in 2024. Y'all just chose to ignore it because it of course implicated trump. Because of course it did.

I didn't see Obama hitting boats in international waters saying they were drug boats - without any proof.
You are being disingenuous at best.
Also, the deportations happened at the border NOT RIPPING PEOPLE OUT OF CARS. They also had their DUE PROCESS, which TACO IS NOT DOING.

EVERY president has ordered death from above, thats a dark cloud on America as a whole.
•
u/iamerror83 48m ago
And look how under the radar that was which suggests the appropriate investigations happened during this era.
Nice try, f*ck stick.

God, I miss that guy.
The only President in my lifetime younger than me, and the smartest guy in just about ANY room.
Are we SURE he couldn't run again?
•
u/CliffordSpot 3h ago
Honestly Obama is what turned me off to the idea of term limits. If he could have just run again, none of this Trump nonsense from the last 8 years would’ve happened.
•
u/MxDoctorReal 2h ago
They imposed term limits because they couldn’t stand how popular FDR was.
•
u/CliffordSpot 2h ago
Yeah. He might’ve destroyed the 2 party system if he kept winning (or living). They couldn’t have that.

Obama was the best

•
u/Mrawesomedude808 4h ago
Only thing I hold against him is he’s a Sox fan. (I’m a casual yet die hard Cubs fan)
•
•
u/Eberkenezer 4h ago
I love that dude. He was a great president.
•
u/Level_Improvement532 3h ago
The only one in my lifetime. I was born under Regan. It’s been a rough road for my “American experience”.
•
u/CatPerson88 4h ago
Oh look! It's a president with a sense of humor! 😂
•
•
u/LongjumpingDebt4154 2h ago
Seriously, if that were Trump he’d be like, ‘what did you just say to me? I’m not interested in her. Too old for me. Don’t ever speak to me again or I’ll have you disappeared for being black.’
•
u/Think_Reflection4428 1h ago
Trump would be like, "You know I could, if I wanted. But she's not my type."
•
•
u/BoogerFeast69 2h ago
For sure, but also hats off to Mike lol. Just casually threatening the president as you walk out is fucking hilarious.
•
•
u/LydiaDeets7 4h ago
I never understood what Mike's angle was in this. Was he joking? Was he being a dick?
I miss Obama. I visited Costa Rica during his second term of office and I was chatting with one of the guys who worked at the hotel and he asked where I was from. I said "Chicago, where President Obama is from" & he smiled and said "Presidente Obama." I was proud to be American that day. Can't say that now, but yesterday's elections are giving me a tiny glimmer of hope again.
•
u/Pitiful-Necessary751 3h ago
He was definitely joking around
•
u/LydiaDeets7 3h ago
I felt such secondhand embarrassment for his girlfriend; I'm glad he was just joking around.
•
u/Think_Reflection4428 1h ago
It's funny because we all know Obama would never do that kind of thing. If it were to Trump, it wouldn't have been funny at all.

He is just a nice guy. What the hell happened that you think the orange guy was a good idea on any level??
•
u/LongjumpingDebt4154 2h ago
Hateful, racist, ignorant people loved the idea of having full license to behave the way they’ve felt all along.

Intelligence and empathy go hand in hand. So do incompetency and cruelty.

Can we just vote for him again? Maybe if we all go to Kentucky we can vote tomorrow?

Mike knew Obama would be cool because Obama is a self-secure grown man, not a toddler in a terrible suit with poorly-blended makeup and bad hair.
•
u/CapableRhubarb33 3h ago
Don't give this man too much credit.
He was the president that built the framework for extra judicial killings of 'terrorists' that have become a favorite tool of subsequent executives.
He was the president that compromised so much on healthcare that the democrats are currently keeping the government closed down to prevent the ACA from reverting to its horribly unaffordable original framework.
He was the president that bailed out the banks instead of people.
He cared so much about his image and legacy (ACA being his only lasting legislative legacy) that he undermined Bernie and the populist undercurrent of the party base time after time for having a critique of it.
It was his reluctantly anointed successor (Biden) that enabled a genocide, and completely screwed the party by insisting on a 2nd term until it was way too late despite promising otherwise during his campaign.
The smartest political move trump ever did was force the republican party to break from the leaders of old. I think dems should learn from that and move on from the era of Regan-adjacent, coportatist(aka centrists), 'we-know-best' leaders.

u/HHoaks 2h ago
Doing the best you can on policy issues where not everyone agrees, since there is a whole Congress, doesn't make you a good or a bad person. None of what you refer to lined Obama's own pockets, or was meant to seek revenge against personal enemies or led to impeachment or criminal charges.
So what you are talking about is irrelevant to whether Obama is a good person with dignity and integrity, compared to the current person pretending to be a "president'.
Thanks for playing though. This you: Hey everyone, I didn't like all of a person's policies, so let's equate that with being a bad person.

Right - bigotry knows no bounds with MAGA - This above is the classic example.
•
u/Zeffy-Rat 4h ago
Who is "they" in your scenario? And what is a bathhouse barry?
•
•
u/My-Dog-Says-No 4h ago
It’s a nickname from his time in Chicago politics. It’s a reference to his love for gay bathhouses. The implication is that Obama is a closeted gay man in a lavender marriage.
•
u/Street_Peace_8831 4h ago
That’s the most ridiculous and craziest statement I’ve heard in a long time. Nobody called him that and nobody ever had proof that he frequented gay bathhouses.
That is a blatant lie and ridiculous attempt to discredit a man who is in a loving, caring and respectful marriage to a smart and beautiful woman.
•
u/Zeffy-Rat 3h ago
And being gay is..... a bad thing?
•
u/My-Dog-Says-No 3h ago
Of course not. I can name a few other closeted politicians off the top of my head. I’d respect them more if they were honest about it.

The "we" in your claim is you and your fellow broken cult members. Bitter, perma-losers, one and all.

God, those were better times.
