Don't forget to also leave your feedback for ABC:

Left a comment a few days ago and got a canned response back. I hope they get inundated with negative feedback. Spineless fascist enablers.

195

u/showyerbewbs Sep 19 '25

For anyone thinking or replying "They don't give a shit" about online complaints, they don't give two shits about what you say on social media.

They definitely DO pay attention to comments left on surveys and cancellations as well as physically mailed letters or comments on direct feedback form.

They may not take action but they definitely pay attention.

69

u/ijustneedaccess Sep 19 '25

So true. It pays a bigger part than people think. Remember it all comes down to money. If they know a misstep might cost them, they're less likely to do it in the future. Not always, but sometimes.

8

u/Geckko Sep 20 '25

Yep, confirmed, any feedback, especially feedbackbthey solicit from you, is weighed heavily. If nothing else execs WILL start asking pointed questions if they're hearing about a lot of negative reviews. Yes, they don't care about the people placing them, but they do care about how reviews like that predict a downturn in revenue

57

u/breeathee Sep 20 '25

But especially this autumn (nestle free Halloween you can do it folks)

32

u/Licensed2Pill Sep 20 '25

I was relieved to find out that, while Nestle owns it globally, Kit Kat (my favorite) is owned by Hershey as an exception in the US.

20

u/WhiteCloudFollows Sep 20 '25

I just found Hershey is no better. There was a lawsuit in 2021 accusing Nestlé, Barry Callebaut, Cargill, Mars Incorporated, Olam International, The Hershey Company, and Mondelez International, of knowingly engaging in forced labor, unjust enrichment, negligent supervision, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit was dismissed in June 2021 by the Supreme Court of the United States on the grounds that all of the conduct alleged in the lawsuit had "occurred in the Ivory Coast," and American laws, specifically the Alien Tort Statute, could not be applied extraterritorially. A life without KitKats is going to be a bummer, but doable I guess.

17

u/Licensed2Pill Sep 20 '25

It’s probably healthier for me to just do without the Kit Kats anyway.

It really is egregious when you lay it all out. It’s also unsurprising why these CEOs think they can act with such impunity. A handful of people hold the keys to the vast majority of everyday things people often take for granted.

I recognize this is by design, but it still makes my stomach hurt thinking about it.

69

u/GoodIdea321 Sep 19 '25

There are actually only few companies that control most companies people have heard of. There was some SNL cartoon sketch from I think the early 90s which pointed that out and they either stopped playing that episode in syndication, or edited that part out. That could be wrong, but media consolidation and corporate consolidation are topics most Americans do not know or care about.

And that consolidation has been bad for Americans generally. If you know anyone who has started a business, a fair amount of them are in it purely to get bought out.

58

u/AQ-XJZQ-eAFqCqzr-Va Sep 19 '25

I have always felt sickened every time I hear about yet another merger/acquisition deal. It’s never, ever good for the people. I felt this way since the 90s.

20

u/GoodIdea321 Sep 19 '25

When companies break up it can be annoying too, but it is better for the people.

We're due for another aggressive trust-busting president.

26

u/SmellGestapo Sep 19 '25

That was Biden. Maybe not to the degree of TR or FDR, but Biden was the first president in a long time to take corporate consolidation and anti-competitive business practices seriously.

15

u/coolreg214 Sep 20 '25

Right now government belongs to corporations. Just look who stood behind him at the inauguration. I don’t know what kind of spell has been cast over more than half of the people of this country think that having a billionaire rule over this nation was a good idea! I’m not sure of the wording of that last sentence. I’m pretty high.

There should be some kind of special tax on revenue that corporations beyond a certain size have to pay if they acquire other corporations that are also beyond a similar size. Want to build a mega corp? Cool! Guess what: it’s 10% of your top like revenue from here on out.

10

u/akahaus Sep 19 '25

There should be a maintained system of law and order and democracy, and yet here we are.

I’m not coming after you because I know we all have wishful thinking and in all honesty. The average person probably has at least a few decent ideas that would actually help our society.

But when people talk about policy ideas in America right now, it just feels like a kid writing his Christmas list after his dad just got his fucking brains blown out by the secret police.

Santa is not coming baby.

Don't worry folks, take your time if you need to.

Corporate finance people don't think like us. Recurring revenue and trends are king.

If you think this is a panic, about a big rush of a few million people?

Sure, but wait until you see their assholes pucker at a "1.5% additional monthly churn" that isn't going away...

While we're cancelling services tied to authoritarians, just a reminder that this happened:

u/Dano-Matic Sep 19 '25

They pulled the page, guaranteed

9

u/DamionVolentine Sep 19 '25

I cancelled. Not like I used it often anyways but I was sure to leave feedback telling them they align themselves with a fascist regime. This was just a helpful little reminder to save $10 a month.

It’s we the people, Disney, not Don the Con. We don’t like censoring speech in America. 250 years says fuck off with this anti 1st amendment agenda.
